But consider, that at key times in the past few, Lebda has taken brutal penalties to give the opposition a hell of a chance to put it away, and often they do (4 on 3 in OT? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?). It doesn't matter that it wouldn't have been called in the playoffs, the point is he's taking these penalties all the freaking time.
lol at 4:25 of the Game in 6 when the leafs score you can hear in the background first, some guy yelling "wooo hoooo" and then a next dude yelling " aw get the fuckk outta here" btw does anyone else think that dude sounds a bit like adam sandler
also, a reason why I don't like oveckhin: lazy defense. He only cares about offense. Look at Toronto's third goal, he doesn't have his stick on the ice, loses the puck off the draw, and puts absolutely no effort in backchecking. given, it was a great rush by versteeg and a beautiful pass from komisarek, but honestly if oveckhin put any effort in during that play toronto wouldn't have had a goal.
what about if its 0-0, sorry I dont think that is a great compromise. It is exciting, I go to school in the states and most people like it for entertainment value . . . but i think it does not accurately represent the whole 60 minute game of hockey to determine a winner. I like the proposed 5min 4-on-4 followed by 5min 3-on-3 or whatever the minutes were . . . good option to finish the game faster and not have a tie.

Well I still think the best option is outright getting rid of the shootout, but that's not going to happen. Think it's an interesting idea and certainly makes the whole thing better than sending out from the start snpiers that couldn't get it done when defencemen were on them.

It would be weird would in a 2-2 game if one team has a grinder get the pair of goals, giving them a chance to use 2 of their best shooters (unless you say the grinder has to shoot twice) and a good chance at winning.

That idea is pretty good, but do you think the player with the shootout winner should get a goal (for their personal stats) because in the teams total GF they will have 250 or something, but their team all together will have maybe 245
good game last night. you guys should be very happy with Schenn he played awesome.. you guys should also be happy Backstrom was off his game because that game coulda gotten way outta hand if he had actually converted on his chances. Ovie was buzzing all night and i'm amazed he didn't get a goal, but he did win the shootout for us with a clincher help from semin, but that 3 goal 3rd period was brutal. glad we could get your leafs a point, happier we got 2 :)
Gotta give credit to the leafs for this one. A team who is without its captain, lacking goals and just lost the night before. Puts four past Ovi and the Capitals to take it to OT and get that 1 point at Washington. Not bad going. Also agree with a few comments already, Schenn is looking sooo good this season.
