@farmingdude Hi. Are you asking how it was filmed? I used FRAPS to record the flight and used the "Tower" view in Flight Simulator to see the whole pass. You can position the tower view in the map and also adjust its altitude. I placed it about 2 ft above the runway height and just to one side of the runway. Hope that explains it. Thanks for watching.
Nice work "beaufighterx" visuals are eyecatching and detail is adequate to keep interested. Audio is very healthy in regards to accuracy "like being there". Buuut "Shano1958" (among others) was being Pilotly correct in more ways than 1, you see the Mossie along w/everyother Brit aircraft (until the the Tempest) were air-calibrated open valved fuel intakes, unlike fully sealed fuel injected. Thus barrel-rolls and esp. full gainer loops were illadvised. Engine choke-out or fire was very common.
Thanks the greatumberto. It did originally say FS9 which means "flight simulator 9". I assumed that this covered the fact that it was not real. Hope you were not too disappointed. Thanks for watching anyway.
I quite enjoy flight sims and the mosquito is one of my old favourites, but a vid of doing laps of a runway, which wouldnt even require a hand on the joystick, is neither interesting, particularly challenging or what id call a "tribute" to anything.
What the author of this video did were several high speed low pass, one of them was with the airplane inverted. Anyone who has a minimum experience with FS would know that the airplanes have the tendency to rise without the control of the elevator at such speed. It's not that easy to make such a stable high speed low pass. I would say these are rather joystick demanding. Clearly you're not someone who have flown in FS.
Thanks for watching. The game is Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. The Mosquito is available on the internet. It was created by Bruno Escaravage (BrunoSK). There is now a payware Mossie at Justflight.
get il2 sturmovik it got the most detaljed and most flyable ai aircrafts, you get with all updates ca 100 flyable ww2 aicrafts russian us french italian german english japanese and so on
I have IL2 and it is an excellent WW2 sim but, if you zoom in and look closely at the aircraft skins they are not as detailed as they seem. I prefer MFS planes because they look better in close screenshots etc. Thanks for the advice though!
How did u do the fly pasts??

Can everyone who doesn't like fake shit please read the description more carefully!

It does not say it's fake in the description. Nowhere does it say that it is computer generated animation and not actual footage.

In a real mossie you would have crashed....they didnt do inverted well at all.
Shano1958 2 years ago 2
Thanks for your comments Shano. I have never flown a real plane and was just having fun. Luckily, this model does not crash when inverted.

Good job with the low pass and NICE LANDING!!!!!!

Thanks for the kind words.

Thanks. Bruno's model of the plane is tricky to land. Too slow or too fast and you bounce hard!

Pointless video.

If you say so, all flight sim videos are pointless. So shut up.

Thanks for watching Orion. The tribute is to Bruno taking the time to create a model of the Mosquito and letting people enjoy it for free.
