LOVE the '05-'06 shows 'cuz one can appreciate witnessing PORL coming off uber fresh from long hiatus: he's so thoroughly enjoying interacting w/ his mates, the audience reactions, the venue atmosphere, the songs --all smiles! Granted, PORL'S always been charmingly interactive w/ all these, but he carries a particular light-heartedness during these two years, before the 4Tour. His stage presence more than ever before refined in every professional way during '05-'09, stealing the shows, imo.
I challenge you to this. Name another base player that can literally take over every song. Gallup has to be the best bass player...Every song hinges on his playing. Just an amazing musician..Live he is even better.

@wmccoy0007 This is totally true. The Cure not only set the standard for real music, they reinvented it. Simon Gallup is certainly the finest bass player that we are ever likely to see in our lifetime.
@loc1968 I'm 35. Brings back memories doesn't it? I grew up in France. The Cure was pretty huge over there. I'm glad I had the privilege of growing up "on" this music.I feel bad for kids now, although I wouldn't mind being one again, especially when I hear this song :-( (but thx for sharing)
I still have to watch DVD this when I'm stoned someday....
Love the cure, love a forest, especially the live versions... and this one is brilliant (l)3:32 I always love Roberts 'into the treeeeeheeeeeeheeeees' =D
este es el mejor video de todos los conciertos que he visto y con mejor audio y nitides esta de la puta madre!!!! y the cure lo maximo !!! carajo!!! viva the cureeee
They still haven't dropped from my fave band of all time. It's soo great to have Porl back!! I just wish we could have a lineup with Porl AND Roger on keys!! The best lineups they ever had IMO was during the Prayer and Wish tours.
its called cure festival 2005 - celebrating the return of porl. its on dvd now - you can get it off amazon. or the cure official website. the dvd was filmed in 12 different countries, and the festival/tour took place in more countries
It is really good to hear that intro to the 'A Forest'. They normally don't play that very often during their concerts over the past decade or so. But this concert was an exception. I happened to see them live on stage for the very first time when they played the Royal Albert Hall in 2006, last year. They played this song at the end and I just loved the blurry green image of trees that was projected onto the screen!
I am supposed to be doing something constructive, fuckin' youtube.
