Dial is an American brand. I believe it was introduced in the Philippines sometime in the late-1960s under license. Up until the early 1980s, this was the leading soap brand in the Philippines. Sadly, the brand languished after that.

Today, the brand is available in the Philippines as an imported product (USA).

The Coast brand, formerly a P&G brand, is now owned by The Dial Corp.

I just received your E-Note; and quite frankly, (the late) Actress Pia Zaragoza was definitely one dynamite fox in the Phillipines. I have never met her personally; and I had no idea she died suddenly. Nevertheless, she did well in commercials on television -- specifically Gold Dial Soap in 1979. I hope things go well for you in the near future. Rest Easy!!

i remember this very well...:) the tune itself brings back memories--i would always hum it then say the catchy phrase, "aren't you glad you use dial? oh, yeah!" (that was when i used to have dial soap in my bathroom...now i use coast...it's my husband's favorite soap...smells fresher and cleaner...:) no offense meant to dial, though...i like its scent too...

Absolutely Dynamite!! The advertisement from 1979 -- by Gold Dial Soap -- would be rated a High 6 in my book. Do not underestimate women from the Phillipines ... especially when they take hot showers with Dial Soap for sex appeal. Brilliant!!
