LSD produces a chemical surge in your chemistry. The more you take the more youre evolved. i have taken more LSD than tim leary, terence mckenna, richard alpert combined. i am at the highest possible state a human can reach.
Some drugs can help you evolve your conciousness but the theory that the more you take a chemical the more it will help you reach a higher state of consciousness cannot be correct. LSD has also caused a great deal of damage for some people. The state of balance and the ability to come back through each dimension is what's important which can be achieved without LSD and through meditation. It takes longer but you are in control.
If you really where all that evolved, you'd understand there is no highest possible, and you wouldn't be proclaiming how evolved you are over the internet. Leary of course wasn't right about everything, but he was certainly a brilliant character and this talk in particular is quite interesting when you stop and think about it.

As he said, "once you get the message you should hangup the phone." Continuing taking psychedelics will not result in more and more profound trips... just the same trips over again. However, Reefer is cool and my book, and god knows I love alcohol, but those are minor stimulants.
Marijuana and alcohol are not stimulants. Examples of stimulants are caffeine and cocaine, and they are associated with Leary's third circuit of consciousness. Alcohol is a depressant, and is associated with the second circuit. Marijuana is sort of a hybrid chemical, and it is associated with the fifth circuit. The neutral position for humans is the fourth circuit.

I'm with Burroughs on this one; he thinks you are correct, but for the vast majority of people psychadelic drugs are needed to unlock parts of your brain you were unable to access before. After you have visited those places, you no longer need the drugs to go back.

Some drugs can help you evolve your conciousness but the theory that the more you take a chemical the more it will help you reach a higher state of consciousness cannot be correct. LSD has also caused a great deal of damage for some people. The state of balance and the ability to come back through each dimension is what's important which can be achieved without LSD and through meditation. It takes longer but you are in control.

If you really where all that evolved, you'd understand there is no highest possible, and you wouldn't be proclaiming how evolved you are over the internet. Also, although I do believe that psychedelics can help you grow siritually, stating that the more you take the more evolved you are is a bit...naive.If you where as evolved as you claim you'd also understand that spirituallity is not a thing of quantity, nor can it be obtained by any means external to yourself, such as a particular chemical.

Leary was a great leader, he really really could have done wonders for the psychedelic movement. He made a mistake with how to go about it though. Constant ingestion of LSD and other hallucinogens is not the answer. They are wonderful in the sense they bring you to the mountain top and let you briefly experience what is capable with your mind, but you cannot sustain that by continuing to ingest them. After you need to work on getting to that point on a more natural basis.

Alan Watts experimented with using psychedelic stimulants, but unlike Leary he didn't believe it was necessary/ And if used just to tune-in to the "Cosmos," only useful once. As he said, "once you get the message you should hangup the phone." Continuing taking psychedelics will not result in more and more profound trips... just the same trips over again. However, Reefer is cool and my book, and god knows I love alcohol, but those are minor stimulants.

Marijuana and alcohol are not stimulants. Examples of stimulants are caffeine and cocaine, and they are associated with Leary's third circuit of consciousness. Alcohol is a depressant, and is associated with the second circuit. Marijuana is sort of a hybrid chemical, and it is associated with the fifth circuit. The neutral position for humans is the fourth circuit.
