@bryce3685 just Toying around with idea but electric Semi can be invented, but should be used for local delivery and short haul not for long haul, Diesel should be used for Road Warrior assignment. the electric truck would have to do the EMU which is the Electric multy Unit the tranctor and the trailer has the electric unit and a driving wheels and the Trailer is feature with a big solar panels on the top of the trailer along with their battery.

@sideslide23 ok ill agree with you on intown deliveries ya and port container trucks aswell but ya for highway and off highway trucks like i drive i dont think it would work at all espeacily in the -50 we get up here in alberta. I move drilling and service rigs and we sometimes stay in the bush for a couple days at a time and have to pull loads that are extremely heavy up some pretty wicked hills that i just dont think it would work unless u had a big diesel under the hood

Its £1,04 for a litre of diesel at my local BP station, which means a gallon of dieslel is £4.73, 20p

Maybe we need anothe fuel strike here in Britain, as we are all being forced off the roads by our controling governments.

My maths insn't that good but its badsed on there being 4.55 litres to a gallon, think thats right;)

Prices have fallen but are creeping back up. I know personally 7 truckers who threw in the towel and quit. What a loss for America. We in the USA have plenty of oil reserves, but we do need to develop other alternatives as well. The future is roaring down that expressway. Will we be ready for it?

i live in canada and we payed this summer almost $2.00/litre it was at $1.95 convert that to gallons it equals $8.00/gallon yet we also manage to survive just can't help but laugh at the states when they complain of high fuel prices.

Lol, here at the Europe both gas and diesel prices are way way higher and yet we manage. I wonder why..

For example here at N-Europe one has to pay allmost 1.5 euros for a one litre of gas. When converted to dollar per gallon -measurement for all the rednecks, its above $8 per gallon. Think that before complaining :D Gas at the states is so so cheap that we are making jokes from it :D

What we need is another energy source.

wind,water,solar,hydroelectric­.they arent exactly the silver bullet but they are good ideas and can lower your electric bill one third. the problem is 1 wine turbine cost around 17,334 dollars.water dosent produce as much electricity as others. solar panels need a really large amount of sunlight.hydroelectricity is dangerous to fully control. we need to do something maybe invest more money to improve those sources i mentioned. its the only way.

Why aren't ALL DRIVERS protesting? Why do we have to get the green light from 'truckers' to get angry? And the fucking truckers didn't say anything as regular Joe Blow Citizens. They only care if it hurts THEIR pockets.

I say we all do massive freeway jams. Just all pick a time and date to drive as slow as hell or just sit there on the road.

So pissing off consumers will help? We have millions of miles of railway. Lets use em. Truckers have a death grip on this nation. That infringes on everyones rights. I don't remember them saying a fucking word when I paid more at the pump than they did. Raise groceries a few cents to help their fuel issues. How much would it take? for those who do not own a car, so u do not need to buy gas, might think that the cost of fuel doesn't affect u. But it doe's, u will be paying more for food, clothes and other everyday items. So u need to take a stand too..

Sorry to say it guys, but you have such cheap fuel. In Australia at the moment it's $5.77 a gallon and getting dearer everyday. Hasn't stopped a record number of new trucks joining the road. I for one can't wait to get over there and buy a diesel pickup as it will be so cheap to run compared with here. And as far a s fueling my truck well the company can take care of that. good luck, and good on you all for making a stand, somebody has to do something lets hope the government gets a wake up call

I heard on my radio riding through Houston that there is a Nation wide Shut Down on May 15th any one heard about it?? They were saying that all independant/ sub-haulers and are shutting it down on May 15th. I also heard on the CB radio that in Houston they will be riding in pick-up trucks and if they see a truck running that day, they will shoot the tires so it wont run. Anyone heard about this May 15th Shut Down?? Supposedly Mexican trucks coming into Texas will shut it down as well.
