  • The last part of the song would be the perfect soundtrack for the end of the world ♥

  • I listened to this song 8:50 before the world was supposed to end a few months ago. Too bad it didn't that would have been a kick-ass way to go...

  • @MattHembling stupid

  • Really old movies creep me out.

  • Really old movies creep me out.

  • A esta no la habia escuchado jojo ezta buenaa

  • to all you drum fans thats a 19/16 beat in the middle

  • @oralsurgery84 how do you break that down?!?

  • take the veil cerpin TAXT

  • The end is... AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!

  • easily one of my favorite rock songs

  • @7:50 on the bestest part

  • i like that backwards sounding guitar at 3:40...then how it progesses to that jam session with those drums.. freaken rocks! i saw them live, best show i ever saw! they opened for perfect circle, but who could fallow theyre act! i like at 7:11 where he starts singing....and what sticks in my head, "now im lost!" who brought me here!?..i love it!!!

  • que tema mas copado!!!!!!!

  • after like 7:46 it gets so good.

  • @FloridaThundastorm I think the whole song is good, but that is my favorite part, I almost wish they would've taken that hook at the end and made a 3-5 minute song out of it

  • @rokknroll4 Shut your mouth.

  • @johnnycat727 What exactly did I say that made you so mad?

  • If I had to pick one TMV song it would be this one, but I hope I never have to choose.

  • bass line is toooooooo nassstttyyy

  • soooooo good

  • I seriously believe this to be one of the most well done False endings of all time. It is done so well that the rest of the song feels like a bonus hidden track.

  • Song gets good at 4:36

  • @glethal85

    i totally agree

  • Never appreciated how awesome the drums are here till now

  • Knife me in -hobbeling

    Talking in it's sleep again

  • fcking nicE !!

  • this was the that confimed the y were from another planet,,.

  • Thumbs up if Get him to the Greek brought you here :)

  • I never heard the cool screaming part I heard from get him to the greek. Anybody know if I just missed it and spaced out or something? Either way somebody help me find that part cuz it just sounds like fun! And I'm talking about the scene from get him to the greek where the fat kid shows his girl who Mars Volta is.

  • @lageasy the bit around the 7.50 mark ?

  • @lageasy Listen to Ghosted Pouts

  • @lageasy search for take the veil cerpin taxt b

  • Comment removed

  • My favorite song from them. Love the abrupt ending.

  • GET HIM TO THE GREEEKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!

  • @janmichaeljms no... just no... please stick more carrots up your ass.

  • @Baxxter101 u stick carrots up ur ass?

  • @janmichaeljms only when it feels right.

  • WOOOOOOOOW!!!!

the mars voltaaa the besssssstt!!! (L)

  • There was a time when a rock band tried to make non-rock music, and one scream was heard by all the world... the next comes in a residual noise...just echoes... ... what disappointment... Goliath

  • After that bass solo right at 4:58, anyone else notice that? It's the bridge from Zeppelin's No Quater, a little bit altered, but that's it. Absolutely brilliant. HaydenFromHell is right, this album is easily one of the best I've ever heard.

  • The 4:11 bit is 16/8 then it does that for one bar of 16/8 and then it's 27/8. Crazy shit.

  • 4:30 So that's what 27/8 time signature sounds like.

  • So 8 people were high on gas when they hit the dislike button.

  • @Philofasus not really. it's easy not to like this song if you only listen to the first 30 seconds or so. but this kind of music just doesn't work without dischordal sections.

  • @broadcastyamum I meant discord - not dischord. English is stupid.

  • i first heard these guys on some strangers i pod i few months later i suddenly remebered the name and looked them. haven't stopped listening to them since. every song is a masterpiece

  • This was in Get Him To The Greek right? I'm trying to work out if it was or not...I really like Francis The Mute album...thought it was fucking genius.

  • what an awesome song.....

    pure progressive-ness

  • wait, I posted that comment before listening and I don't remember this being the song in the movie, but whatever

  • this song is on the movie Get Him to The Greek. Such a funny movie. But this song is amazing, I haven't listened to much of Mars Volta but have listened to At the drive-in

  • song gets good at 4:35

  • @glethal85 the song gets good at 0:00 and sucks at 8:51

  • @Tukhtukhturbo I agree, but if you were to play this song at a party or in front of friends who dont listen to mars volta then you'd be much better off starting at 4:35 or so in order to keep things chill

  • @glethal85

meh my friends can't appreciate music like this so it doesn't matter where i would start the song from.

  • @glethal85 I think it gets good about 0:01

  • @hupajupa thats exactly what i was going to say

  • @dividad1 Thanks for agreeing. This whole song is pure genious.

  • @hupajupa I'm more of a 0:00 man myself

  • Comment removed

  • @glethal85 Your mom got good at 4:35am last night.

  • @magicianmusician21 Haha, that's so childish but "Your mom" jokes, when appropriately placed are always funny. Well played sir.

  • @glethal85 fuckyoumanthisshitsoundsgoodfromtheveryfirstoctaved'e'

  • mars volta have now left the drive in-awesome!

  • the video is perfect its just the way you look at it its just kind of creepy

  • jon theodore jams the fuck out of this song

  • Muy bueno, te pasaste mostro con el video. "Take the veil Cerpin Taxt" es mi tema preferido de De-loused. Gracias man!

  • fuckin' outstanding song

  • where do i find the short story for this album.....

  • @audiotivity just look it up there's a pdf file i managed to get it by typing in de-loused in the comatorium short story

  • @caidenjohnsonpoetry thanks man.

  • Deloused was based on a heroine trip, also shown in a book that cedric wrote, do some research, idiot.

  • @zacheikanger1

    fail lol.

it was based on a friend of Cedric's that attempted suicide by injecting a mixture of rat poison and morphine. he went into a coma, woke up a week later, and jumped off of a bridge.

    "do some research, idiot."

  • Is this guys not the greatest drummer playing today? Unbelievable time Sig.....try and count out the breakdown in the middle around 4:10. ......Bap.......BapBap.........Bap.......BapBapBap.........amazing!!!!!

  • @dt7870 im not sure if thomas pridgeon played this album or not but if so yes one of the best drummers of all time behind tony royster jr and a couple ofther people

  • A total masterpiece. Perfect to close the De Loused record.

  • great epic song

  • such excellent everything in this song... Especially am fond of the drumming and guitar all throughout this tune

  • is "take the veil" a reference to a curtain? Or "the veil of death" Because Cerpin Taxt jumps from a window, right? Or is a jump from an overpass? I'm a little confused.

  • you should read the story.... but some words are as you may know or not are questionable to English and Spanish for that matter

  • Yeah, I've attempted that once or twice. I've got the .pdf file on my computer and I printed it off and tried to get credit for reading it in English.

  • my favorite tmv song

  • u take the veil,CERPIN TAXT!!!!

  • this sounds like atdi

  • Thats because the vocalist was originally from ATDI. ^^

  • @AchillesCanine

    no i dont mean that

i do know that. i mean the guitar and stuff.

the whole music without the singing.

  • El video habla de la agonia que sufria Venegas al ser castigado por dios. A pesar de que el video no tiene mucho que ver con la canción, me gusto.

  • if you think that the mars volta sounds like system of a down then wow thats sad.

  • hahahah

  • F*ck Yeah ...

  • omars guitar sound very like robert fripp

  • when i first herd tihs song i shit myself

  • that's weird.

  • every time i hear this song it brings chills down my spine, every part of it is perfect!!!

  • My drum teacher gave me notes for the part on 4:11-4:37 and he told me that it was from a Mars Volta song. His other student wanted to learn that part and he forgot to tell the name of the song. It took me about half a year to find the right one. My curiosity was about to kill me because I had only heard that part of the song I didn't even know was it intro or something else. Now that I've heard it, it proved to be one of their best.

  • 7:50-8:37 = Amazing.

  • 4:35 onwards. Beastly!

  • Ok who put the acid in my soda?

  • this record is at least 10 years beyond it's age

  • awesome!!! i love it!

  • jon theodore is the king

  • Good video.

  • i agree

  • it doesnt represent the song, but i think it goes well visually

  • take the veil is the best song in De loused in the comatorium

  • Inertiatic ESP? T'was the single. Yea but dis song is awesome too tho.

  • I thought that was Televators! I don't know... Every song is good on that album.

  • Both of them are singles[Hard to believe but true lol.]

  • Every single song on Deloused in the Comatorium was pure gold.

  • @HaydenFromHell de acuerdo con eso!! ¬¬

mataré a kien no me devolvió mi CD !!

  • @HaydenFromHell

I'm rediscovering the truth to your statement =D

  • @HaydenFromHell All The Way Pure Gold

  • @HaydenFromHell was? more like "is" bro :D

  • @HaydenFromHell pure genius more like it....

  • @HaydenFromHell agree

  • @HaydenFromHell i really thought the theory that there are subliminal message in the songs claiming we like them

  • At The Drive In was a good band but when they broke up and became the mars volta they kick ass they are awesome

  • My personal favorite album was Deloused in the Comatorium.

  • Great video!. kesdabest you're entitled to your opinion, im not fully bashing you, but saying Bedlam sucked so much/they changed who they are.. have you not been aware of the HUGE "difference" between Frances and Deloused..AND amputechture?!?come on sir. i think how they "change who they are" each time is what is so beautiful about their art and what makes them the mars volta. yes i too was confused when EVERY ALBUM WASNT THE SAME but fuck, picasso couldn't keep painting the Guernica over'n'over

  • Agreed, kess is silly. I think bedlam in goliath is fucking awesome.

  • I liked At the Drive-In, but Mars Volta kicks ass! I think this is one of their best songs! Thanks for the upload!

  • yea this and eriataka (or how ever you spell it) are 2 wicked songs oh and GOLIATH i love the 20 mins songs :P

  • EriataRka lmao. Yea Goliath was good...gave me goosebumps sometimes lmao.

  • yea lol.. metatron is the song i was ment to say lol it 19m50s long so cool..but goliath is awsome as well.. tho im not sure about the lyrics.. they are a bit creepy haha

  • nice video! xD o

  • thats just laurell and hardy i think. but sum1 played around with the image so you cant see it properly. i love the mars volta. they are awesome and nothing compares to them, but bedlam in goliath sucks so much. its like they changed who they are. amputecture, frances the mute and deloused are amazing.

  • If you ask me, it's Thomas Pridgen who greatly changed their style.

That, and judging by verbal evidence from the two masterminds behind TMV themselves, they desire to continually progress and never look back.

  • well i know that deloused and frances are both based on the past, they grieve the death of close friends on both these albums. theyt is looking back into the past.

  • Frances the mute is not even about themselves.

  • yeah but he's right to a degree as far as we know it was based on a journal found by jeremy ward, the whole frances was a tribute to him

  • I don't know what it is but i really don't like bedlam, cedric's voice is pretty irritating it seems so forced. Not to piss anyone off, I just couldn't get into it like with the other 3

  • i think the forced sound can be traced back to the fact that the album was written based on experiences with a ouija board, i think its energy comes through his voice!

  • @SOADdrummer21 De Loused isn't based on the ouija board, that's Bedlam.

  • @chrislarson15 i meant to respond to 12oz shark that said cedric's voice sounds forced on bedlam

  • esto si es una banda que aporta algo nuevo!!!!

  • yo amo todo lo que haga the mars volta

  • I really love the instrumentals in this one.

  • i cant imagine tmv without cedric...i can imagine them sounding any different because i fell in love instantly

  • and any change...all change has been good even though we all miss these days

  • Flea's bass solo at 4:36 is absolutely sick.

  • Yes, yes it is. Flea was perfect for this album, but I liked the bass on Frances alot too.

  • this song is so powerful

  • i could listen to this song all day.. eriatarkas one of their better songs too.. shit, all of their songs get me pumped!

  • drummer= ridiculous

  • I like everything about this band.. except for the vocals..

I mean, I like the vocalline for the songs and the choir, but their front vocalist.. well.. doesn't really fit into my taste

  • I didnt like the vocals when i first heard them...he sounds like a chick..but he is such a good musician/song writer..i dont even notice his high pitch anymore.

  • never...never did i dislike the vocals, but each his own.

  • That never bothered me. It seems to be perfect for the music.

  • their performance in London at the Electric Ballroom is fucking amazing. i finally got the dvd, def. a tmv clasic

  • where can you get the dvd?

  • me too at first. but as you listen you'll start to like him.

  • I think Cedric fits the band excellently. Wouldn't be the same Mars Volta without him. :P

  • hes been in since at the drive in.. and we loved him then, why should that change? :D

  • I'm pretty much just getting into them (knew about them for ages, just never really listened to them) and that is the one reservation I'm having too.

  • This song is pure brilliance. TMV Till I Die.

  • The chorus in this song is magic. Prog Rock Musical Magic.

  • the Mars volta always know how to end their CD's right,

one of the best songs they've written and played.

  • This and Conjugal Burns are like sex.

  • thats wat im sayin amigo
