  • Hi Evan,

Don't know if you will ever read this since you posted your video over four years ago. I remember my first solo in a 2-33 back in 1981 when I was 18. Hemet/Ryan airport Hemet California where I used to fly shut down there operation a while back.

I am very proud to see you soaring at such a young age. By the way that was a sweet sweet landing.

  • Get vid' Why cant woman just shut up !?! jod job dude..

  • Who breaks the rope the glider or the plane

  • @liketoridebike14 the glider

  • i love gliding , we use the same model glider , but we use winches and trucks to get the glider airborn

  • Great video. Awesome landing!

  • yea cool im 14 well just turned 14 4 days ago and just soloed today at the McMinnville Municipal Airport!

  • It's an awesome feeling isn't it!

  • yea its the coolest thing ever after you get over the nervous ness its the greatest thing you can do in you life!

  • It's funny, I really didn't feel nervous when I soloed. It was definitely easier to concentrate w/o an instructor behind me. Also ironic that my solo's landing is probably my best so far.

  • O yea well your kinda already soloing because your flying the whole glider but the instructor is just sitting in the back, but there is the taking off quicker then normal and having a longer final!

  • Flying with an instructor isn't soloing.

  • I know but you know what I mean. never mind then but yea its not soloing.

  • usually students first solo landing is the best so far. i'm not sure why but it happened to me too

  • Congrats I'm 14 and have my Student Glider License

  • You mean your student pilot certificate? They are one in the same for powered and gliders as far as students go. I do not know if that applied to all regulated aviation though.

  • yea

  • In a glider you have to be 14 to solo

  • Right, I was saying that there isn't a different student pilot certificate for gliders and powered. I may be wrong, but they are 1 in the same to my knowledge.

  • no... 14 to be a student pilot, flying with an instructor. You have to be 16 to go on solo. I got my gliding license with this aircraft

  • no sir, in the US you can solo a glider at the age of 14. Look it up

  • @pilot865 I agree. 16 is in powered aircraft.

  • I was/am 16yrs old

  • How Old Was the Pilot?

  • Nice job! Congrats.
