@euro8029 Country and or Western music has its roots in folk music as well as Gospel, "Old time", and Celtic music. Using styles and instruments from all of these form. Folk music comes from the oral traditions of many nations and has been passed down from generation to generation orally until eventually set to music. Think renessaince minstrel when you think of folk music and look at that as an ancestor of Country Music
