A softball has more mass; a softball going at the same speed as a baseball has more force.

A softball, being bigger, is harder to throw and catch. Also, it has more wind resistance, so hitting/throwing it far is hard (you have to admit it's easier to hit; its massive).

Basically, a softball is MADE so it won't travel as fast as a baseball. The thing that makes baseball hard is how fast and far it's going; for softball, it's GETTING it to go fast and far.

There is so much pressure from a softball pitch that it broke a piece of measuring equipment. A 95 mph baseball pitch didn't.
