@alexthao06 This video wasn't helpful for me, and I couldn't figure it out. What finally worked was that I clicked on the Recording (Input) button in System Sound Control Panels at the bottom right corner of the set up screen. Then I clicked on the microphone I was trying to use, and in that box clicked on levels where it foolishly had a mute icon. Clicked on that to unmute and now it works! Hopefully that will work for you?

i dont understand when i do the test in the setup of vent it works fine but my friends tell me that mic isnt working right, and the worst is that it happens only to my razer Carcharias which i bought yesterday ... what can i do?

@USFLucky7 well i fixed it by plugin my mic in the front of my pc just cuz my rear plug was messed up :S haha i dont think it might help u, but i wish the best for you :P

Hey everyone. If you know how to fix my problem or atleast what may help, please tell me. whenever i try to talk to my friends in vent, they say all they can hear is my game's sound, or any sound im dealing with on my computer, and it's REALLY LOUD. Ok my problem is vent won't work while I have WoW up but vent will work when I have WoW minimized and the vent page showing what do I do?

Hello everyone, I've gotten a problem since 3 days ago. I had a blue screen and when I turned on my computer again my microphone would turn on while I wasn't even talking. When I do monitor it shows I have around the 50, which normally you would have 0 without talking. I don't get this and I wonder if anyone could help me.

If you have problems with vent, run it as administrator.. It wont activate your key in games, if u dont do so. Also this is just a guide, not a fix, some PCs have different setups and u need to fiffle around with it, His guide is good and got my mic to work fine, i for example didnt know you could test your mic in vent.. just fiffle around with settings, 1 at a time, and test it all the time. Also try disabling mic boost and turn up mic vol. in vent and test again, Thumps up for others to see

Hmm when i do test, i speak and i dont hear my self speak, i press the talk key and my guild says they can see the green microphone but no sound, so sadly this did not help me but thanks anyway

i have the same problem, except opposite. They can hear me, but i cant hear them. I went through all of my settings, and they are like yours. The strange thing is, when i get on my other window's user, it works on the other vent client i have on that user. Any suggestions?

I have had multiple probs with Vent.

1. for months I've had the problem MSG: Contacting Server.

I fixed this by uninstalling version 3.0 and installing 2.3 that error meassage went away.

2. Now, the problem is when I connect it connects...but then counts down from 10 only to restart the contdown over and over.

I'm not banned and my Info is correct.

Any Ideas!?

I downloaded Ventrilo last night, on the initial download everything worked fine except my mic outbound to everyone was really low. I turned that up to +10 and it was still mediocre. I messed with my settings and it completely has muted my mic as you can tell by the monitor test in the Setup menu. I've changed my settings to match your own and still no outbound sound, any ideas?
