The problem isn't African Americans who can't let go of the fact that their ancestors were slaves. The problem is poverty. Poverty is the root of all problems. It is what causes people to turn to drugs, it destroys families, it causes abuse, it causes gangs to form and violence as a result. When someone does a crime (petty) they need to be doing things like community service with neighborhood watch, or picking up trash, or helping clean up buildings that look a mess. We have to create safety and FOOLS have to stop damaging things, then instead of trying to move out, there will be major upgrades, hopefully in a way that is beneficial to the environment as well (not another concrete jungle). Better parenting, and embracing knowledge is a great first step, peace and recycling too.
Being 15 and switching between suburb and city...black people in the cities have lost their way. Can't really blame them though, that school system really sucked so much ass. Good teachers but a horrible system. The music and everything else isn't helping. And when you look at it nobody is really trying to do anything and the ones that are...have some type of foothold however it's never big to the community as a whole. Would have to start an education movement, a big one..at the schools.

For them to stop pussyfooting around. My suburban school, zero tolerence completely. Very strict. Even if suspected to be in a gang...suspensions, cops, parents..just everything. The city one though was just very lenient. As from experience, most parents don't know what's actually happening in the street and so until the police are actually involved or worse. Signs, colors, the whole thing. That's one way that would actually help make a difference, take on what the suburban school policies.
Zero Tolerance in schools goes a long way in the right direction. Stop teasing, taunting and acting rude, foolish or with arrogant behavior and you stop other problems, etc.
Pick on someone long enough they end up shooting up a school. When I was in high school I was a leader (thanks Mom!), no need to do poorly in school because you want to BS in class (it was a fight at times). Some didn't walk across the stage with a diploma, after endless warnings they laughed at (probably crying now).
I can't say that I agree about the music because it is a form of art that we can either listen to or turn off. Parents have to bite down and not accept everything for their children. There are Christian hip hop artists, Christians rock bands, etc. So after we approve something then our child can take their pick, not the other way around. Just like with violent video games, if we don't allow them to play them they can't, even at a friends house because we should know their friends and the parents

If their parents are willing to allow them follow the path of a drug dealer, then the kids need to be removed from the home. There is positive rap out there, but any with profanity and other negative words (is what you more than likely mean). We need more neighborhood watch, stop pollution (don't throw trash on the ground), adult supervision is awesome, and once leadership is embraced by our kids it will go a long way. :)
I think people are downing this comment as negative. What you are saying is the city life can have you wrapped up in a bunch of non-sense, but a lack of education thanks to the school system is one of the key factors. We had the lowest percentages in schools, I can't even argue with facts, but it goes back to parents as well. No such thing as doing your own damn thing when you have a child because you have to be a responsible parent and raise them correctly (as leaders also, not followers).

My experiences I have had with black people down here as to Indiana have been crazy. What Perry is trying to do is wake up black people to the travesty and violence of crimes against each other. It is the same message Bill Cosby is trying to convey. It is the reason wealthy black people don't live in, visit. or spend their money in poor, black neighborhoods. It is Afrocentric people such as yourself who can't see the forest for the trees.
The problem with communual lynchings is that if you later find out the person was guilty then your whole legal system and justice system will be shamed.

To transform a neighbourhood you need high income residents and that is never going to happen with the Blacks because once they earn more they move to live with better people (i.e. into White areas).

The problem isn't African Americans who can't let go of the fact that their ancestors were slaves. The problem is poverty. Poverty is the root of all problems. It is what causes people to turn to drugs, it destroys families, it causes abuse, it causes gangs to form and violence as a result. And of course there is the lack of education for people in these poor communities. It has nothing to do with color.

Exactly so. Vernon Forrest stopped at a gas station to buy something. He did not deserve to die the way he did. He was a good role model for many young people. unfortuately i have to agree with you. I can see it, feel it, smell it, danger we will all be in if we don't get a grip on the thugs that run our cities. One of the reasons is the problem has festered to such a high level that the leadership is in a coma. I watch the news every night and kids can't go to school without fear of being shot. They can do what they want and know that nobody has a gun to protect themselves. What the real problem is revolving doors of the judicial system. The criminals are processed, run through, and back out on the streets to do the same thing again. I beleive that once a murderer is convicted and found guilty through DNA that connects them w/o any doubt. They should be terminated w/in the next week! No tax payer should have to pay for these animals to eat-watch T.V.,etc. No matter what color they are! Once they see the consequences-the crime will drop at a rapid pace.

The truth is we as a people need to start making better choices on a daily basis. In my own brother's house one son became a cop and the other chose the thug life. Pay attention in school, learn from others foolish mistakes, don't be a follower of the negative. Peer pressure is nothing to a leader. Parents teach your kids that education is knowledge which is a sword and shield in life. The more you know the more you grow in life.
Kids: Take plenty of notes in school (the answers are basically in the comprehension).
If you don't understand something, as lots of questions until you do. If you are done ask for extra credit work, go above and beyond!!

When someone does a crime (petty) they need to be doing things like community service with neighborhood watch, or picking up trash, or helping clean up buildings that look a mess. We have to create safety and FOOLS have to stop damaging things, then instead of trying to move out, there will be major upgrades, hopefully in a way that is beneficial to the environment as well (not another concrete jungle). Better parenting, and embracing knowledge is a great first step, peace and recycling too.

Being 15 and switching between suburb and city...black people in the cities have lost their way. Can't really blame them though, that school system really sucked so much ass. Good teachers but a horrible system. The music and everything else isn't helping. And when you look at it nobody is really trying to do anything and the ones that are...have some type of foothold however it's never big to the community as a whole. Would have to start an education movement, a big one..at the schools.

For them to stop pussyfooting around. My suburban school, zero tolerence completely. Very strict. Even if suspected to be in a gang...suspensions, cops, parents..just everything. The city one though was just very lenient. As from experience, most parents don't know what's actually happening in the street and so until the police are actually involved or worse. Signs, colors, the whole thing. That's one way that would actually help make a difference, take on what the suburban school policies.

Zero Tolerance in schools goes a long way in the right direction. Stop teasing, taunting and acting rude, foolish or with arrogant behavior and you stop other problems, etc.
Pick on someone long enough they end up shooting up a school. When I was in high school I was a leader (thanks Mom!), no need to do poorly in school because you want to BS in class (it was a fight at times). Some didn't walk across the stage with a diploma, after endless warnings they laughed at (probably crying now).

I can't say that I agree about the music because it is a form of art that we can either listen to or turn off. Parents have to bite down and not accept everything for their children. There are Christian hip hop artists, Christians rock bands, etc. So after we approve something then our child can take their pick, not the other way around. Just like with violent video games, if we don't allow them to play them they can't, even at a friends house because we should know their friends and the parents

If their parents are willing to allow them follow the path of a drug dealer, then the kids need to be removed from the home. There is positive rap out there, but any with profanity and other negative words (is what you more than likely mean). We need more neighborhood watch, stop pollution (don't throw trash on the ground), adult supervision is awesome, and once leadership is embraced by our kids it will go a long way. :)

I think people are downing this comment as negative. What you are saying is the city life can have you wrapped up in a bunch of non-sense, but a lack of education thanks to the school system is one of the key factors. We had the lowest percentages in schools, I can't even argue with facts, but it goes back to parents as well. No such thing as doing your own damn thing when you have a child because you have to be a responsible parent and raise them correctly (as leaders also, not followers).

This was great. I'm from Indiana and moved to Georgia last year. I'm white and have no problems with anyone of a different race, religion or idea. My experiences I have had with black people down here as to Indiana have been crazy. Black people refuse to talk to me don't really want to give me service when I go into mostly black stores and I walk around hearing people saying niger to each other and it's just odd that people can disrespect themselves so much, but demand it from every other race.

The problem with communual lynchings is that if you later find out the person was guilty then your whole legal system and justice system will be shamed.

Although I know that I mention the word "lynching" and know that's causing problems with some viewers, it is more of a figurative term than literal. However, I'm sick and damn tired of gang bangers, car jackers, rapists getting away with their crimes because no one in the black community wants to "tell. stand up and say "NO MORE." They just turn their heads out of fear rather than defending and saving their kids and communities. The only difference between black and white communities is PRIDE!!

You overestimate, by far, how far money goes. In a town here (U.K.) they spent £17 million (which is $30 million) on cleaning it up and it looked no different.
To transform a neighbourhood you need high income residents and that is never going to happen with the Blacks because once they earn more they move to live with better people (i.e. into White areas).

you can't go around lynching people, it would just cause more problems - you want the judge to essentially sentence a criminal to death by mob - beaten, castrated and then executed.
That's straight out of the middle ages, it's going backwards.
I can see why you're angry though, but I think respecting the justice system, and expecting law and order to be maintained (not bitching about police, but bitching about crime)is the way to clean up your community.

Satuday, Feb. 2, 2008 6 women were shot in the back of the head. 5 died in a botched robbery at a Lane Bryant store in Tinley Park. Rounded up, duct taped, murdered. What is the punishment he deserves? By the way, he's black. What does that do to every other black person living in Tinley? Lynching is cruel, but so is murder.
