Quickie note: Since Pegasi are only found native in Ilia, we can assume that Tate's reinforcements are similarly Ilian mercenaries.

Which makes it even worse, since Ilia lacks fertile ground to cultivate crops, and thus RELIES on its smart and badass forces to become mercenary troops to gain income.

I positively hate NPC's. Whoever programmed the AI for NPC units should be buried in a 10 foot pit lined with Semtex. AFAIK the only NPC's with any real AI are the 3-13 archer and the 22H Merc. There may be some NPC's in FE4 who won't try to become an hero and do something useful, but I'm not betting on it.

@darkandroid125 In GBA FEs, yea they suck all around. Fortunately, they got better in PoR and RD, namely Tanith's reinforcements, the Daein army in 3-6, and whichever 3-13 unit gets the blessing of badass (typically the Sniper).

@17Master it's worse when you have your units controlled by other, like in radiant dawn when ellincias mass of other units surround her to protect her. callil will waste every meteor she can possibly waste, and astrid always manages to kill herself. and whats all this about 3-13 archer? i heard about it but i dont get it

@mamaluigitoyou this may be a late answer but here it goes: the 3-13 archer is a sniper NPC in part 3 chapter 13 in Radiant dawn. He is manning the upper left ballista and will eventually head down the nearby ramp to hold off the laguz there. Provided he gets healed by an Ally he will get the job done himself. both inside and outside the ballista he will get an occasional critical. Being so competent for a generic NPC has made him famous.

hmmm...i never experienced this before, but one of the good to ensure the allied units survive is rescuing them. Archer can are easier since their constitution is lower, pegasuses are harder due to higher constitution. If you want to create Tate to be easy, bring Thany along, use a paladin to rescue Tate, bring her close to Klein, and use Klein to talk to Tate.

The archers in 10b usually didn't like to move despite 4 cavvies coming after them, I had to kill one so that Clarine could talk to Klein, a peg knight tried to take on a fighter with a Killer Axe, I didn't bother going after the bonus Whips and Bolts. It's like they got nervous because they work for you now, they were smarter as enemies.
