  • Such a great anthem. What's more I'm glad to see that Bruce Springsteen doesn't have a monopoly on incongruous use of the glockenspiel.

  • Beth yw pentwr o sbwriel

  • 1:17 ....now that sent a huge shiver down my spine!

  • Gotta tell you, there are few anthems as stunning as the way the Welsh sing it at a rugby match. The only thing that compares is the Canadian anthem at an ice hockey game

  • @FuroraCeltica wales rugby - 90,000. canada ice hockey - 15,000. i dont think they really compare! england used to do an even better line in national pride before tony blair beat it out of them. the old wembley stadium at euro 96 had to be seen to be believed.

  • Craig Quinnell did more in that anthem than he evelr did in his rugby career, the fat shite.

  • @gazgibson That is the funniest comment I have read for ages! Cheers.

  • Cancel the fucking glockenspiel

  • Agree, much better without the TV firendly "iconic Welsh singers" up in the mix with the crowd somewhere in the background. The passion of the crowd was all it ever needed, not one bum note when sung. As a welshman living in Ireland many years I remember great days at the old Lansdowne crumblehut thousands on the North Terrace drowning out the locals; so much in fact that they have to now sing two anthems! (which still grates, Amhrán na bhFiann is just fine lads on its own)

  • @supahdupahguy81 Now, when you say English Nationalists I couldn't agree with you more! It's definitely painful to see as an Englishman! Let's not generalise though as we're not all bad. Wales have got to be favourites for the six nations, we'll need a lot of good luck good performancesto challenge!

  • last time I checked singing a national anthem with pride didn't win you a world cup. I'll take winning a world cup over immense pride and singing passionately every day. So sing on my welsh friends as that all your be remembered for.

  • @mashtronic76 Don't turn 2003 into a 1966. English rugby is on rocky ground so no need for a pathetic outburst to try and justify what will be a poor six nations for your nation.

  • @mashtronic76 shut up you dick lol

  • The english could do with a lesson in nationalism from the welsh...

The welsh are genuinely proud of their nation & it comes out without coming across sectarian or xenephobic...

....unlike the english who seem to think nationalism = excessive & patronising flag-waving, inane jingoism & hatred & ridicule of other nations & cultures...

  • @supahdupahguy81 Yet here you are, ridiculing and generalising in turn yourself

    - quite ironic. I am English but I love this anthem and Welsh culture...

  • @22JB22

    I'm actually English.

I'm not ridiculing, i'm telling the truth....if you don't believe me read the message directly underneath yours for proof of the arrogant, hater mentality English nationalists tend to adopt..

  • Scott Quinnell - HERO

  • not many anthems are song with this much passion.

  • awesome anthem,awesome people,highest respect,from a proud irishman

  • Get that in yer!

As an englishman, this is the most beautiful song I will never sing.

  • @HeadChestOrFoot - Agreed.

  • It was in the rugby world cup 1999 : Wales vs Argentina ?

  • Great stuff! Love the passion of Welsh rugby. I'm American but have played rugby in the back line for many years, love the game and Rob Howley was one of my favorite players. The passion of the crowd is phenomenal. I wish they would have the crowds sing here too, instead of having some overpaid idiot show up to stay relevant in the news and butcher the anthem.

  • this is why im proud to be welsh. bloody passion for your nation - well done lads

  • the best anthem in the world...welsh are fantastic church singers !

From a French rugby fan ;-)

  • who is the captain?

  • @dacki1234 It's Rob Howley, one of the all time greats at scrumhalf. He is at at the extreme left. Great player, great humble personality. One of my favorites at my position growing up, along with Justin Marshall.

  • GARY SPEED 1969-2011 RIP

  • @surinsteve a sheep sounds better than your mother, you fat cunt.

  • Welsh people: You are blessed with a great anthem, not like the 2 anthem political nonsense we have in Ireland.

You have a great singing tradition, and probably my favourite part of this video is when they cut from the players to the old boys in the choir.

I love this video so much. It's got soul.

  • Land of my Fathers! Have lived in Australia for 40+ years. Beautiful singing, thank you. Love Australia wouldn't change living here for anything but Welsh singing makes me feel homesick - for a country I've only visited once!

  • awesome anthem from France

  • on voit qu'il mettent du coeur a chanter !

  • Very nice strong team the next game between our teams and no red card of Jean de France! Long live the rugby and the team gold 70 years

  • Leeks (probably used as lildo's) dragons (dream world fantisy and daffodils just about sums Wales up really oh and all those sheep if you get lonely

  • @surinsteve You say that even though your name sounds as though you take those "lildo's" up your own arse.

  • @surinsteve, Learn to read and write, Dumbass.

  • I love that the players are SINGING unlike the players over here in the Americas who ....don't...for what EVER reason.

    Belt it out boys!

  • Wonderful ! And so much better coming from the crowd !

I hope Wales will get the opportunity to reach the final in 4 years. People and above all the team deserve it !

  • the best hymne in the world. From Basque Country

  • SO much better without some warbling diva...This is how National Anthems SHOULD sound.

  • Half of them arnt singing it :L I can sing it and I never went to a welsh school I just basicly taught myself

  • Yet another Kiwi. I just want to say that you guys were totally ROBBED of your RWC final and it would've been an absolute honour and a privilege to play you guys on the game on Sunday. Every Kiwi I've come across wanted a Wales NZ game, but alas, some things are out of our control. And as someone with strong Welsh heritage and the flaming red hair to prove it, I want to say publicly that I have incredible respect for your country, your team, and your passion for rugby. Cymru am byth!

  • Fantastic, never heard a crowd better singing its anthem! @hwyl17 I completely agree, any crowd should be left alone to sing the anthem... Respect from Germany!

  • another Kiwi here...Wales are here in NZ at the moment ( as we all know ), unlucky to not be in the final for the rugby world cup, but there you go. Welsh singing makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Land of my Fathers, Men of Harlech, Cwm Rhondda, etc., All fantastic songs..

  • ya wont find a better a anthem sung round the world! keep her lit from ireland

  • All the lads on the Welsh team did us proud on saturday, they can walk away with their heads held high. Every one in Wales are behind them 100%.

    Da iawn hogia ymdrech GWYCH.

  • Thanks for the beautiful moment ! We all regret, in France too, that Wales couldn't get the opportunity to reach the final ...

  • to all the welsh rugby fans from a proud english u should e immensly proud of your boys today and give them a huge reception when they get home

  • @colinneile Nous avons joué comme les anglais ! We played as english use to...

  • Proud to be Welsh and couldn't be any more proud of the boys than I am right now, came all the way from the USA to see my country play and saw it in the Millenium Stadium, doesn't matter if we lost because I'm

Cymru i byddaf yn marw - Welsh till I die.

God bless you all. From a Welshman, cheers. :)

  • I much prefer it when just the crowd sings the anthem, rather than some blonde opera singer blasted out of the speakers completely drowning everything else out

  • @s99bf0c8

    Hear Hear, well said.

    'Iechyd da' my friend.

  • Thank you to the Welsh team for there fantastic effort in this years World cup. You didn't deserve to loose, I recon that Ref was paid a back hander for that decision.

  • good luck to Wales today,my neighbour across the roads from Maesteg and shes got the biggest Welsh flag ive ever seen draped out the window,me goin in there for a beer or two and hope Wales win.anyone but France!!!

  • @burnleyfan11965 nous avons gagné à l'anglaise ! Congratulations to Wales team ;-)

  • I should really be in bed now. But I'll never sleep tonight. To be Welsh is to have poetry in your soul and a song in your heart. I've got my flag flying. Come on Wales. I got the new Kathryn Jenkins CD today. It's actually very good. Nice version of Hyfrydol on there. Well worth a listen. Good luck Wales.

  • omg im a scouser married to a Welshie,if this song dose'nt move you to tears there's something wrong with you more than shivers Sam

  • Gwlad, GWLAD! Shivers.

  • I'm English with but Welsh roots run deep in my family and no one will celebrate more than me if Wales win the world cup. It's possible!!!

  • Stirring, this tune is in my blood and soul but how can that be I was born in England to an English mother and father but my paternal grandparents came from Wales, my daughter married a Scot and my eldest an Irish man so I am now grandfather to a child from every country of the British Isles but moved to Wales some years back and truly came home.

  • So much hate towards the English.. Sad people get a life enjoy the game. Enjoy this great anthem.

  • Marvellous. I grew up at the Arms park in the late 60's and 70's and the singing is a treasured memory.

  • je l'ai moi aussi entendu à l'arms park ! à jamais dans ma mémoire ! c'était juste quand le rugby était encore le rugby !

  • Im scottish but this is the best anthem in rugby hands down

  • Now, now lads leave it there. Football is a gentlemans game for hooligans, rugby is a hooligans game for gentleman!

  • I am praying for you Wales, It’s getting to much as the excitement builds for Saturdays game against France. From an ex pat Please Win and promise to hold a party here in Scotland for the final.

  • @vipnon1965 I forgot to add I was Born in Bangor and lived in Barmouth till I was 8.

  • cymru am byth

  • @sjhill87ish

    love your anthem, too!!

  • This and the scottland anthem are my favourites. When you hear the wales fans sing, it can make you cry there is so much passion and pride there. I will be cheering you Wales to got to the final.

  • I'm an Englishman looking for some Welsh in my ancestors because i am desperate to have a reason to support Wales this weekend other than Wales being an amazing rugby team!

  • I'm French Breton, and proud that we, celtic brothers share the same anthem. Long live Wales

  • The welsh are without doubt the greatest bunch of people ,man could hope to come across.no trouble, just craic.such a proud nation.wonderful hosts, modest in victory humble in defeat, the ambassadors of the game.Wales and Munster as gaff said 'Are the true home of rugby' where love of the game is all that matters. CONGRATULATIONS TODAY BETTER TEAM and fully deserving.A great young side.Ireland will be behind ye now. Go on the welsh.Pity ye didn't get to beat the English on route!

  • @podgelim Thank you for these words. They made me smile. ^^

  • @podgelim so in essence you like the 'Welsh' because they're even bigger Anglophobes than you 'micks'. No wonder your country is in such a mess, you spend far too much time obsessing about England and not enough worrying about your own country. That aside the Welsh anthem is wonderful.

  • @capio78 Bit of a strange reaction there pal. Your a good man for emphasizing my point about the Welsh by highlighting so blatantly whats wrong with other cultures in contrast. Rugby is fun and banter don't be so sensitive.I was merely suggesting the Welsh would prob enjoy beating a larger neighboring country than France. Now that you do bring it up, I would suggest its people like you who over step the mark and bring politics into banter and represent a country poorly leading to "anglophobes"

  • @podgelim right so england, the creators of the sport, arent ambassadors? hmmm doesnt add up

  • @podgelim why? is the welsh football team..so awful..they cant even beat cyprus..

  • @chadberry75 What?

  • @podgelim Another irish fool who hates the english because of a conflict we weren't apart off. Oh did you know most english people actually have irish in them? Like me for example? Yeah fuck ireland.

  • @podgelim I'm Irish and that' s well said even though it's well over, and the better team did win, no arguments there, that's why I love rugby, because it's not overpaid diving rubbish that fagball is, and when Ireland play England I can sit beside an English supporter and drink instead of fighting.... when dose that happen at fagball matches??

  • I'm also french and i wish you good luck for next saturday, i hope it will be a great match !!! What a anthem !!

  • Félicitations fiers Gallois !!! See you next week in Eden Park ! Auckland sera notre Terre Sainte ! Allez les Bleus !

    Et..."Cymru am byth" !^^

  • Wales into the World Cup semis!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm French and everytime I listen to these fucking cathedral voices I'm fucking crying ! Best massed voices in the world are Welsh ! No discussion about that...

  • Comment removed

  • As a half English/half Welshman brought up in London, I had followed England in rugby until I went with my cousin Gareth to the Wales v Samoa World Cup match in 1999 in Cardiff - the anthem made me feel emotional and at home, something I have never felt at Twickenham. I have been a welsh supporter ever since.

  • what do you get when you put Chinese and Gaylic Together? haha

    Welsh.. get it Welsh haha?

  • is there anything better............from a munster man in china

  • Fuck the english!

  • @RapperWar well said

  • What an amazing anthem and crowd. I love this and it makes the hairs on my arms stand. From an Irishman.

  • @pjbrenna01 god bless the Irish Celts for ever

  • Oh beautiful for spacious skies .......

  • @bobbollu funny how the biggest cocksuckers that comment on youtube are always english or american ! ha ha

  • i have loved this anthem for years also flower of scotland, beautyfull,as an englishman i say why cant the english come up with something of this calibre?

  • Everyone knows the Welsh National anthem is for shite. If you want to hear a good

one may I suggest "American the Beautiful"

  • @bobbollu A Typical BIG MINDED YANK what a joke you lot are.

  • @lacoste9159 Oh i thought you all loved us over there, ever since our savior Obama got into the Presidency

  • @bobbollu What part of London En-ger-land is Wales in mate? Ha ha ha

  • @MistaReezo Wales is a separate country last time I checked , the only export they have ever had is Tom Jones

  • @bobbollu Last time you checked? After reading my comment you mean? Google's awesome isn't it? lol

  • @bobbollu you jest

  • YES FANTASTIC I WISH NEW ZEALANDERS COULD SING LIKE THE WELSH ALAS KIWIS ARE TOO STOIC TO SING

    .

  • @MrFerrisfe2 But it's the Welsh (and the Estonians) who have the reputation of singers so don't hold it against the Kiwis.

  • 3. God save the Queen

    2. Государственный гимн Российской Федерации

    1. Land of our Fathers

  • Best anthem in the world - no contest. From an irishman

  • @10pennysweets Better than America the Beautiful sung by Ray Charles? Oh come on

  • The 80's weren't too bad, Hywl. I went to the Arms Park when i was 12, the crowd singing, especially the anthems was absolutely awesome. The WRU should go back to just having the military band & drop the 'stars'.

  • @Ellon1989 Its all they have.

  • @AnotherCuppaCoffee Reconquer?you don't understand your own history.Europeans colonised the country, ripped it apart and took it from its rightful owners. The fighters in the war of Independance were the decendants of colonists from the UK,many of them came from aristocratic backgrounds, some emigrated because of their religious/social ideology, some where former prisoners taken as bonded slaves.White settlers robbed the Native ,and true,Americans of their country. and wiped out their culture.

  • What has the song got to do with the ranting on this page?

  • This anthem gives me goose flesh and I'm South African. We sing along to the best of our ability before all rugby matches (even when you play against the Springboks ha ha!)

  • shaggers defaid

  • @anghydweithrediad wales has never been a sovereign nation, merely a principality of england ;)

  • @hogalog Grufydd ap Llywellyn.... Enough said.

  • @TidyCymru69 want a list of english rebels? wales was still only a principality of england. and welshmen were more than happy to take the english kings shilling to go and fight the french and the scotch.

  • @hogalog You mean like the fact that the line of Welsh kings goes back to the 5th century AD? Wales was Wales long before England was England.

  • @hogalog Wales became a principality in an underhanded deal by Henry V without any of the Welsh royalty! Wales has NEVER been conquered! Know your Welsh history (despite being English)

  • @TidyCymru69 wales is obvioiusly conquered physically but we are coming back around again...they never quite destroyed the culture...fuck bullies and fuck the elitist state

  • @hogalog no no you ignorant moron, the english are all the same, pretending to be in charge when really they have nothing, you may like to think that we are not a nation, but we are and always will be more of a united separate country than you and your teeny tiny little brain could ever comprehend :), your just a german at the end of the day!, with robbed and borrowed traditions and cultures! nothing of real value :)

  • @red3339 for the record im half welsh - mother from swansea. wales was ALWAYS a principality overruled by england and the majority of the time it was happy to be because it was well paid to be. the odd rebel here and there is irrelevant, england (particularly in the north) had plenty of its own. like it or not. and as for our country having no culture or traditions, well, its the 3rd oldest sovereign nation in the world and the majority of the world speaks our language.....

  • @hogalog well that makes you even worse! that you spout utter garbage, Always? no. my Welsh ancestors were here a long long time before the english turned up, and no one ruled us then, it took hundreds of years and many many wars for, barbaric english self imposed ''lords'' to poison welsh culture and identity, and they were NEVER with out a fight, there was always resistance. always? where did you pluck that one from? haha read a book! there were loads of wars fought over control.

  • @red3339 look at all the battles england fought. and youll find large numbers of welshmen fighting with them. you were always on our side. it should be to wales credit that the people werent as stupid as the scotch in resisting a much more powerful and wealthy neighbour, but instead seeking to benefit from them. if wales had wanted to it couldve resisted and ended up a shithole, shite at everything and full of bitter drug addicts like scotland. instead it accepted english rule. like it or not.

  • @red3339 Actually, the house of Aberffraw ruled the Welsh before the English came in. You should know that if your family's that old.

  • @hogalog ''the odd rebel here and there'' honestly do you know what you are talking about or do you just blindly charge in on conversations plucking things from your arse? Owain Glyndwr was a king of wales, through out the decades, there have been many true military leaders of wales, fighting for what any person wants, being an independant country free from foreign rule not some fucking robin hood. and you know that sovreign nation? its full of barbaric, moralless, who know nothing but totrample

  • @red3339 he was not king of wales. there has never been such a thing. he was a rebel leader, and even he often sided with the english. and england had far bigger rebellions among its own people than anything the welsh ever put up. but you cant escape cold hard facts, all those great victories the english had, had welshmen fighting for them aswell. and wales has NEVER been oppressed under english rule - you really are stupid if you believe that.

  • @hogalog and who said he wasnt a king? who's right was it to say that? the people of HIS country recognised him as a king, and he accepted THEREFORE he is a king, he took an oath and became the last true king of Cymru. haha he NEVER sided with the english, find me proof of this or i can not take you seriously anymore. oppressed? england killed hundreds of people for wanting to govern their own country? and decide their own rules? its not up to you to to decide anything that isnt yours

  • @red3339 erm. welsh law. what little of it there was. no 1 man could inherit his fathers estate, it was divided among all of his children, women included. all welshmen wouldve fought for england then, even if only for the money. and all the welsh rebel leaders changed sides as it suited. is wales oppressed by england now? (england now gives away lots of its own money to support wales, as it does scotland) was it oppressed in the industrial revolution, when many english men provided industry?

  • @hogalog what Welsh law? the one written by english people with out the consent of the Welsh public? this is absurd that you think things like this. I never said now, but who wants more than to be in an independant country, and yes, only recently england hasn't suffocated Wales, during the industrial revolution, Welsh miners were treated as close as you can get to slaves, while english mine owners lived in luxury, these same mine owners did the same to their own in the north of england,

  • @red3339 no the welsh law, that meant it was a divided land of wild tribes who would rather side with the english than each other which made edward 1's "conquest" pretty straightforward. im from county durham and english mining communities suffered just as bad, whether governed by england or independent that wouldnt change at all. the only country that can rightly claim to ever have been oppressed by england is ireland. even scotland invaded england first, they just lost.

  • @hogalog did you just say wild tribes? what are you? i suppose your the sort that would have supported the taking of the stolen generations in Australia. so warring tribes makes it ok for an enemy to invade and try to rule a country? many of the same attrocities, that england did to Ireland, were done to Wales. the mining issue would have been different. only english people exploit in the horrendous way they do. History has proven that nicely, where ever they have gone, they have left a trail of

  • @red3339 of all the countries we ruled, actually gained massively apart from ireland which was shit on. and whatever oppression we did in the world, the welshmen were alongside us and more than happy to be. also we are talking of the medieval era here and welshmen did just as bad/worse to the english marches and each other. see we get all this shit off the jocks aswell, they dont know what to say when its pointed out to them that they invaded and oppressed northern england first.

  • @hogalog that doesnt take away anything of what you did, you cant just go, ''but they did it too'' im not talking about scotland, im talking about Wales, why was england a hated country globally? there must be some reason behind that, the french, spanish, italians. The entire island of britain you have managed to turn against you, yet relations between Wales, Ireland and scotland are good?

  • @red3339 because its trendy to hate england and blame them for everything. if i had my way we would keep our money and let you all rot....... but not everything we did was bad, weve done a lot more good than most/all other countries in the world - but i hate to tell you, wales was always englands pet and it always fought for england. everything england ever did, wales helped them.

  • @hogalog look at you, wriggling in your own bitter denial, you were hated for exactly the reason you are displaying so perfectly right now. And you only did the good things so the rest of the countries didnt fucking turn on you and decide to actually teach your country a lesson, and rip you to shreads. you are literally blind to think the things you do, blind in your own self righteous pomposity, you are nothing. And always keeps being thrown around here...ive already explained that point

  • @red3339 tell me all these bad things the english did? and at which point during the empire (which scotland and wales were perfectly happy to be a part of and contribute to. BRITISH empire, not english.) were these countries going to rip us to shreds? ireland aside they all did very well from the british empire and went to shit when it collapsed. as the good people of zimbabwe if they were happier under british rule, or mugabe?

  • @hogalog havent i just spoken about all of this? scroll down and you can see what i have said, you seriously cant have forgotten by now or dont english people listen? as ive said you left people like that with no choice, coming in and burning villages, innocent people, taking away livlihoods, went to shit? where do you see shit? you think these thinks in some needy attempt, if the celtic nations formed a united state with out you, you would soon see who was in the shit

  • @red3339 erm where did we burn villages, take livelihoods etc...? the english went to wales, civilised and industrialised it. yeah, some rebels got killed, those who didnt benefitted massively. get over it. as for going into scotland, they started it.... and as for the empire, none of that went on - the british government PAID people to bend them to our will, we didnt force them. we would never be capable of that. this small island v the indian subcontinent? grow up son.

  • @hogalog BULLSHIT. absoloute bullshit, we didnt need civilising, YOU are the ones who needed civilising for your atrocities, that you have left strewn across the world. we were civilised a long time before you idiots showed up. yeah you took innocent people who were friendly, and implied your greasy slimy ways on them, just like a weedy school bully, controlling an affable child. you need to grow up and stop being so ridiculous, learn facts before you attempt to argue.

  • @red3339 what the fuck are you talking about?! lmfao. all of these english atrocities you are claiming will have been committed with full collusion by the welsh soldiers who VERY FUCKING HAPPILY FOUGHT FOR THE ENGLISH TIME AND AGAIN! and these atrocities are also 1) many hundreds of years ago when the french, spanish etc were all doing it, and certainly only committed on the scotch after they invaded england and committed them first (look up david 1 of scotland!)

  • @hogalog One English atrocity could be the "right" of Prima Nocta, so you should get off your high horse there.

  • @red3339 and there were few, if any atrocities committed in the name of the BRITISH (that includes wales) empire, like i said people were paid to bend them to our will, rather than forced. thats why they all kicked off and wanted independence at the end of world war 2, BRITAIN was bankrupt, what little money it had it needed to rebuild itself, and it couldnt afford to keep paying them.

  • @hogalog what the fuck are you on about now? you cannot say that there were no attrocities, you think that the british empire grew to the size it did from paying people? are you serious? you really believe that? you have to be one of the most clueless idiots i have ever come across

  • @red3339 er, it did. battles were fought yes, but winning a battle is not an atrocity committed. the vast majority of the british empire was won by 1) trade 2) diplomacy and 3) bribery. how could a small island with a population of less than 4m people take the indian subcontinent, most of southern africa, australia, canada and until independence, the usa ???? and youre welsh - youre part of that and you should be proud of being british like all of the welsh people i know are.

  • @hogalog and as soon as you had settled, you then went about by committing the atrocities, treating the native people like savages, and ignoring their own lives as wrong because it was different to english ways, attrocited does not just mean, killing thousands of innocents (which you did in plenty) but dumbing down people in to becoming one of the same, variety is the spice of life and people should be able to live their lives with out foreigners to tell them different

  • @red3339 or erm, paying people to work for us? which is what we did in the vast majority of cases. like i said they only kicked off at the end of world war 2, when we had no money to pay them. india, population of 300m+, easily.... if it was so bad, they would easily have turfed US out. yes US, you lot were very very willing partners in it. BRITISH empire.

  • @hogalog yes, well done, you had the poor and oppressed in such a state that they were forced to work for a foreign enemy to be able to survive..very noble, these countries had survived for thousands of years, with out you and only you turning up sorted things out? actually you turning up fucked them over, and made them dependant,

  • @red3339 what the bollocks WE went and paid them very fucking well. dont dare wash your hands of this, brit. oh and whose money did england steal.... first industrialised nation in the world - that is where our money came from. selling our products and our ideas to the world. who were we going to steal it from, the welsh who had none? and the scotch who had even less? lol - fuckwit.

  • @hogalog hahahaha you clueless idiot! well, barely enough to survive, enough so they didnt question their treatment. not money, your talking in todays terms you thick person, in old wealth, the empire was built on trading, gold, ivory, the blood of slaves etc. its well known that you traded usless materials like salt, for expensive possessions, basically stealing

  • @red3339 which country abolished the slave trade first? and the empire was built during the industrial revolution, using money created from britains, in particular englands, industrialisation. and like i said as soon as the deal was bad for them, the old colonies turfed us out and couldnt do it fast enough. why not do it before if it was so bad? it was not. and stop it with the you. youre british just as well. im going to bed, some of us have to work to pay taxes to give to scotland and wales.

  • @hogalog abolishing it doesnt mean it didnt happen, in particular bullshit, just face the fact that most of the problems with ex empire countries were caused by you in the first place. because technology and understanding of the deal had grown, beefore you had tried to keep them dumbed down, and eventally it caught up with you and bit you where it hurt. have fun at your job being a professional dick head.

  • @hogalog The answer to your question would be Liberia.

  • @hogalog You mean like the part of the British Empire that was on that one little island, or the part that involved the military conquest of India? Or the military conquest over the Indian tribes in Canada?

  • @hogalog Oh, the English burned villages, raped the women, and killed civilians in Wales, and then forced them out of the government for 400 years. It's not like the British army was one of the best trained armies in the world, and could easily defeat a country where guns were not used... that's just impossible.
