  • Minecraft on it?

  • Can anyone tell me what the Graphics media interface for this laptop is? Which version of PCI is this? All i got is that it is PCI from the website but I'm not certain if it's the classic PCI or the other versions. Help me out? :)

  • Mine was bought used with Vista Biz COA but 80GB drive and Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit edition, and it works just fine, but the CPU is T7100, with 800Mhz FSB, so can it upgrade to the T8100 is one question, the other is does it support MXM graphic video card upgrades? I have serious doubts, but wondering besides Acer who supports MXM graphics GPU options so I can keep my eye peeled for those!

  • I don't know my administrator password anymore...is there anyway to get back into it without taking it into a store and paying an entire paycheck ?

  • @KELiiKASPRiiNG FINGERPRINT READER, works ace, like a charm, You should set the entry password ahead of time to allow Either Or, if it requires both, you may still be outta luck. What I do is pick a password somewhat related to the machine itself, it can be anything you know about your personal computer, but you will be looking at what your passwrd is in effect, and help you recall it! Also should be a hint system in Windows

  • I have this notebook and I'm running it on Windows 7 32-bit version and it works perfectly.

    I have one question though.

The guy in the video says that the graphic card is integrated but I don't think so.

I'm in a search for a new graphic card for this notebook and I've heard a lot people say that they changed it successfully.

And the other thing, any graphic card recommendations?

  • @TheDaggerTail I took my keyboard off, but not the surrounding casing, the heatsink fan assembly covers the CPU and one other chip, that could be the Northbridge or it could be the GPU, for all I know, so don't bet money there's a graphics card upgrade, it HAS to have integrated graphics to show anything at all.

  • @TheDaggerTail where can I find this information I've been looking around Google and cant find anything about upgrading the graphics card. help us out :)

  • @TheDaggerTail Few minutes ago I asked PC technician about this issue, he said me that for 6710b it is NOT possible to change the card.. but you are saying that lot of people changed it successfully.. have you already tried it ? My friend is about to change it.. but he's not still 100% sure if it is possible.. Do you have any experiences with it?

  • @gfru Wow this is so old, i wrote that comment 11 months ago, so strange to get a reply for it :D

But, the thing is, I was wrong, the card is integrated and can't be replaced.... Sorry :/

  • @TheDaggerTail 11 months, yeah I know, but this is emergency :D Ok thanks anyway.. I know this is not gaming notebook, but have you run any games on it? I don't expect Battlefield 3, but San Andreas or Cod4 may launch :)

  • @gfru

Actually no, those games won't work.

I play currently Cod2 and Warcraft 3 and it's bad as hell.

Here is a cool website, it tests automatically if a game can be run on your laptop: w_w_w.systemrequirementslab._com/cyri/

  • @TheDaggerTail And ignore those lower dashes, just not possible to post a link normally on youtube.

  • is that compaq 6710b compatible with Windows 7? please response

  • @jayson072192 Mine has Win7 Enterprise, so heck, yeah, 2GB of RAM and 1800Mhz CPU, you're in fine spec for the latest OS

  • no te entiendo ni madres puto jaja

    putos weros de mmierdaa

  • Esto es powerfuloso )very powerfully)

  • DESMONTALA TIO!!!!

  • The chitchat ..multi.. passes.

I will not understand the commodity

  • my mom uses this computer lol this is not as good as i thought

  • has she lost her finger yet?

  • lol no

  • those volume controls and touch sensitive icons above the keyboard suck, fair warning

  • Yeah it really sucks.. i bought this laptop rly cheap (280 euro's) and the 6730b (hp).

    everything else is OK

  • there didn't appear to be any suction involved, FAIL

  • @edminister How so? I like the touch active system but that does not prevent the traditional Mouse based desktop approach. With my Acer, the vol dial in on the front to the left, I cannot HELP but bump into it all the time, so I have no problems with HP's choice

  • I use this for School and gaming sims and watshing movies. Its a very solide casing with is very useful when you carry it a lot (i take it to school and home again every singel day)

  • This is just like my laptop except for where the ports are on the side.

  • Trust me, this computer is good for one primary reason... business computing.

I am currently using one for work, and it is pretty good. Currently downgraded to XP Pro, and runs with an Intel Centrino 2 Processor.

The overall gaming specs are OK. It's not something you'd want to run Crysis on, but it's good for basic games, like the Sims, Spore, etc.

The price is around $500...it wont come new, for sure, but it lasts a while.

I've had mine for 1 year 4 months and it is good. Get it

  • yes, good idea. i bought this laptop with windows xp professional, and its good for everyday usage

  • It is Too Nice 2 Use.

  • Just a decent solid business laptop.

  • awesome, Compaq rules better than apple, dell, asus, its awesome!!!!!! :)

  • Sorry to correct you, but 1280x800 is NOT a high resolution. Show me a 1920x1200 laptop then you can say that.

  • You're totally right, man!

  • @kaidotech I would say I probably get that resolution on my Acer Aspire with a 14.1 WXGA screen, but if you play the Windows 7 HD video demo on that resolution WITH the AERO interface, it looks just great, No complaints from me. The Intel shared or dedicated video ram can be seen running CPU-Z or from Windows, DXDIAG utility and it's about 386MB or something

  • why would they do that they don't sell the g1

  • Wow, the video ratings on the low end/business machines reviewsd here are always low. It's like people see budget and think "ugh, this is a pile of crap!"

5 stars because of this :P

  • @DeadFredVideo All laptops should allow Daughterboards to their mainboards for upgrading, perhaps heat and power are an issue, but Dell allowed video upgrades as does Acer laptops and notebooks. Now Intel Extreme Graphics have just not improved like ATI and nVidia

  • Indeed

  • spectacular xD
