Yeah. Bankers got pretty much a guarantee of a bailout from Greenspan and run wild, but the fault of lack of regulations. In some sense yes. Natural regulations caused by risk and fear were taken out from the market. So now gov. cause the problem, and gov. is going to rescue us. Recent US involvement in Euro bailout, was an attempt to also save US banks. The same banks that were rescued 3 years ago are failing again.
I think it's become somewhat easy to determine what is false or a bad idea - if the top Republicans are avidly promoting an idea and the sane Democrats oppose it, it's either false or inadvisable.
I ask you all this, in the long term, would you expect the GDP of a nation with a regulated market to be higher or lower than a nation with an unregulated market (An unregulated lawful market of course)? Ok, if you said 'regulation leads to higher GDP' I think your have either shot from the hip OR your reasoning requires a lot of 'IF's i.e. "if this and this and this happens, THEN regulation leads to higher GDP". So, if in reality, low regulation leads to high GDP, why care about the cycle?

why not let banks fall, and create new using this money ? was it that bad that after selling all banks properties + loans + potencial trillion (or more) + deposits - bank depts <0 ?
@mikerozo im by no means an economist and my opinion is to let the banks fall as we r basically rewarding them for royally fucking up the economy, this just shows u how corrupt our political system isthey keep taking money from us and giving it to very wealthy people who dont need it, it like reverse robin hood. this whole thing is just about a few fatass motherfuckers that already get 90% of the pie wanting more to stuff their fat greedy faces, aka human trash.
The bailout did not cost a trillion dollars, it cost multiple times that. The Federal Reserve lent out trillions of dollars at virtually zero interest to preferred financial institutions, corporations, and individuals.
This has been confirmed with information from the Federal Reserve as reported by Bloomberg News and Fox Business.
The Federal Reserve also purchased 600 billion dollars in US Treasuries as reported by major news organizations.
1. it's not the number of regulators, they were there but they weren't doing their job, probably corrupt.
2. most of the regulations on markets are made by the corporations and special interests who use their money to buy influence in congress and nearly all the regulations keep small business down buy limiting their expansion and keeping the corporations on top
no offence thunderf00t but u r out of your depth, keep bashing Christians :)
@toberses11 agreed. It wasn't the act of removing regulations that caused this problem. It was the act of removing very SPECIFIC regulations as well as creating very SPECIFIC regulations. The problem isn't too much or too little regulation. The problem is corruption--the fox watching the henhouse, so to speak.
Term limits for all public office. Make lobbying illegal. Punish taking bribes severely. And prevent politicians from making money. Remove the temptation, and the corruption will follow.
but please, go on... show everyone reading this what a retard you can pretend to be. Say silly things, act like a child. It was fun for me. I enjoyed this. Every post you make is another sweet whisper of how right I am. I normally refuse to think with that kind of egotistical nonsense.. but it was fun talking to someone who was just so ignorant. Kind of like playing with your food before you eat it. I haven't done that since I was a child & didn't know how to reason. Like you.
Since you've resorted to nonsense, this conversation is over. Everything you are saying now is the last, desperate act of someone who has run out of anything intelligent to say. You're just throwing shit like a monkey. I'm not the first OR last to disprove the god of the bible. You seem to forget we're on Thunderf00t's channel. Your refusal to accept reality doesn't make it go away, nor cheapen my victory.
I said you were intelligent, but not very & you had WASTED potential.
& what I said was that the christian god & your fairies are falsifiable & wrong. They have deffinitions. Mixing eye of newt with crap in a cauldron doesn't do anything. Sometimes people spin legends about things they saw, like mermaids, which were only fish. Real, solid & misunderstood. Like what you're doing. Even if the universe is within a Matrix program or a noodly appendage of the monster, it's still governed by the laws that we've deduced with science.
As for how do I know..? I know you think your quick study of philosophy has given you the power to foul people's thoughts, but you utterly fail to understand how antiquated philosophy is. Science is what we use to measure and understand. Philosophy is just guess work. Again, how do I know? Because everything is tested and retested. It yields results that we can use to do practical things. I never said there is no god or that all of reality is as I say it is.
You do a good job of pretending you're a 13 year old because you totally misunderstand just about everything. Science & reality do not work in the way you seem to think. I do not have to disprove the flying spaghetti monster or the pink unicorn. Science observes the world & puts forth theories based on knowledge & testable criteria. Unless you can submit some kind of test that gives your hypothesis any creedence, it's not worth anyones time. YOU have to prove it's worth it.
I'm not the one who is delusional because we're not just talking about my opinions. We're talking about time tested science, versus whimsical fantasy. For the upteenth time, the burden of disproving science is on you. Until your fairies can yield a useful technology or a cure for a disease, then you have nothing. Where's you peer reviewed goblin anatomy findings?
You don't have any.
You have questions.
You have speculation on subjects that you haven't finished researching.
Your problem is that you're talking about "what ifs." Im talking about hard science. Yes, Ive done research myself. I don't take anything for granted, but I know when things add up because I employ logic. You are using imagination. There's a difference. You want to be agnostic about everything & it just doesn't work in reality. If we all did that, as I said originally, there would be no progress. No computers. Only religions breeding more confusion. That's why you're wrong.
And what does someone getting their hands chopped off have to do with this?!
Idiots led by religion create stupid laws. More proof religion stands in the way of progress.
More proof that morals brought to us by religion are flawed.
More stupid people with ignorant perceptions.
Once you put science into it, you understand that such things can be effective in some small way, but are not necessary and only drag down progress, being over all ineffective.
Because I don't entertain your philosophical nonsense, you think I'm mean. Thats a perception. You think I'm mean. My perception is that I'm pointing out flaws in your thinking. Our text is reality. NO matter who thinks what, it's there. Think I'm mean as much as you want, the words are still there. Reality. My words dont become mean. I dont become mean. Someone else can think what they want. It's all in our heads, but the words are still in reality.
I read what you're writing and say you're wrong. You ignore what I'm writing and call me a meanie. Maybe you are 13. You also pat yourself on the back a lot. You think I have an ego? Bah.
It's not me you're arguing with, it's physics, neuroscience, anthropology, chemistry, etc... I'm just pointing it out.
Your perception is your own, but it CAN NOT change reality. If someone shoots you, you cannot simply will the bullet away. Children under 8 don't do it, no one can.
I'm not wrong. You are. I say it. It's mean, but true.
I NEVER said the laws of nature are unchanging. I have said that you are inextricably bound to them and you can't change that. Our understanding of them changes, but their effects on us have not changed. The world was never flat. That hasn't changed. Again, you mistake philosophy for science. I said I have an open mind, but not a slutty mind. Im open to change, just not bullshit fairy tales or philosophical nonsense.
Coming from a child, none of your flippant remarks mean much.
As for living in our own world.. no. We don't. We conceptualize our own personal take on the world we live in with our brains, but those brains live in a world dominated by mutual physics.. which is being explained by science.
Because you dont know this science or study it, it's easy for you to feel like it doesn't affect you, but look into it, it does. If you lived in your own world, I wouldnt affect you as I have.
I can't prove that earthquakes don't happen based on human actions or that god isn't peeing when it rains?
Yes. Yes I can.
Nazi Germany suffered nothing like what Japan just suffered in terms of earthquakes. The worst earthquake was in Shaanxi, China and the Chinese weren't on any genocidal crusades. Plate tectonics and seismic activity is also pretty well understood by science & human evil has nothing to do with them.
Now you're going to accuse me of hate? How can I hate you? Why would I? Sarcasm? I do feel bad for you. That's real. I honestly understand what it's like to loose one's conviction in the fairy tales of the world. That's real too. I honestly think you have some intelligence that could be used for something better if you'd open your eyes. That's real too. You're the one who is totally lost here. I'm sorry for that too. I wish you the best of luck. That isn't sarcasm.
And I am sorry if you feel hurt. Losing faith in your convictions does that to a person. Convictions cause convicts, though. Free yourself and don't feel hurt. Feel liberated.
I can see that you have a fair ammount of intellect just itching to be put to good use. USE IT! Be something wonderful... don't spend your life confused by arbitrary philosophies whose only use are to argue. Science trumps philosophy every time.
I'm fairly certain that you're not 13. I have good reason to believe you're a troll. I admire your tenacity, but if you cannot accept that there IS a reality, then nothing anyone says will help you. Wish & dream all you want, it's not going to help you change anything. Age will show you that. Only by acting within the laws of the established universe can you achieve anything. Fairy tales won't help. They didn't send a man to the moon or make this computer or your cell phone.
Just because you can look something up in a dictionary doesn't mean you understand it's use in modern language. Try looking harder. If you listen instead of shout, you might learn.
I DO believe that the bible was written by man. That's my whole point. Man made up a bunch of nonsense & other men believe it. You already know I'm right, you're just not getting it because you're so busy being obstinate. (go ahead and look that up, I'll wait) BTW- I did disprove the creation myth.
@CrossTheGrigori You could fill many books with information "disproving creationism", but that's where the argument stems from... Creationists aren't like normal humans which use logical thinking to come to conclusions, no matter WHAT you can prove, they simply can't understand logic. It's a futile effort, like trying to teach a dog calculus.
You're still wrong. Magic is NOT just "not understood," it's not real. You're looking at this from a philosophical perspective, not one of science. Science is a tool, not a body of knowledge. Science is looking at the world with logic & skeptic restraint. To you, magic is wonderment & I can respect that, but it's a perspective, not a reality. Magic does not function in reality. Stir a cauldron of bat & newt & nothing will happen but a bad smell.
If you close your eyes & wish REAL hard, you will still not be able to fly. Use all your reality warping belief powers on me & you will NOT be able to affect me. Why? Because belief does NOT equal reality. If it did, babies would never die, Japan wouldn't be suffering & I would be healthy. Our attitude affects our mind, not reality. Our bodies affect the world as they can.. but reality has laws we must obey & work within. It's that simple. That's what I'm saying.
I'm not closed minded because I know that fairy tales aren't real. I'm educated. I'm not an atheist. I'm not agnostic or theist. I AM a skeptic & I do have an open mind, but not a slutty mind who'll open it's legs for any notion. There is a very distinct difference. I can say that there are no gnomes in my computer. I know this. Trying to get me to open my mind to the possibility is like asking you to believe that you have a motorcycle in your uterus. You know you dont.
The world is, most assuredly, NOT as it seems. Most of science is counter intuative. That's why it's so hard for people to accept. It's easy for people to think that it rains because god is peeing or we must have done something wrong to deserve an earthquake. That's just not true, though.
You ask questions, want to get me to think and that is GOOD! It's the start of wisdom. NEVER accept anything anyone says. Buddha taught that. I agree.
First of all, I'm HONESTLY very sorry if you mistook anything I've said for stating that I know everything. I'm sorry you feel belittled. I'm not joking. You said things, I answered them. I study physics and neuroscience and LOVE learning. So I do know things that you apparently don't, but it doesn't make me better than you or god like. I'm sorry if you really think that's what I was going for. When people argue, someone usually gets hurt. I'm sorry.
As I stated: You asked for proof the Xtian god is false, I gave it. How am I lazy? You chose not to accept it. Wilfull ignorance. You want to be a hippy & think we should prance around thinking what we want about anything. You can think I'm Olmec the Lizard King & you're Athena, my sworn enemy.
It doesn't make it so. We live in a reality we interpret, but our interpretation is INTERNAL. The EXTERNAL world doesn't change to suit our fantasy.
You can mock me like the child you are. It means nothing.
The burdon of proof to prove something's existence is on YOU. Science already set forth evidence to disprove magic. It operates on basic tenants which defy all of physics. To prove something which goes against all known laws is on YOU. How many times do I need to repeat that for you to learn?
YOU offer no proof but a desire that they be true. If you DESIRE to be beautiful, it doesn't change the fact that you're ugly.
Claim what you like about your accolades. It's childish, unverifiable & doesn't match your posts.
The Christian god IS falsifiable. They make specific claims about their religion, heridity & their god. The bible states that it is the word of god, cannot be altered & must be repeated as is, because it is the WORD of GOD. It gives a creation myth which is wrong. Its history is also inaccurate. Appologists claim hyperbole, but this goes against the bible's claims.
Act like a baby all you want, cuss or claim I didn't prove anything, but it's your own ignorance thats blinding you to the truth, not me or reality or anything else.
It's just that you are intellectually lazy.
Watch Thunderf00t's videos & pay attention. All the science is explained step by step. I'm not going to repeat it here because you put your thumbs in your ear & shout "Nyah nyah, didn't prove anything! Piss off!"
I understand you're only a kid & wouldn't know any better, but seriously.. did you not pay any attention in science class in grade school, junior high or high school? It's all right there. I specifically stated that the possibility of _A_ god was still up for grabs, but your Wiccan fairy tales & christian god are false.
Why? I already told you that too. The specific traits you ascribe to them dont match up with physics or any other branch of science.
Physics, chemistry, archeology & all the scientific disciplines prove that your fairy tales don't exist because the values you cooks ascribe to them dont mesh with the laws on the universe. Not only that, but we have all of the above to trace the origins of those beliefs, religions & traditions to show why & how they were created.
If you're one of those idiots who thinks everything is an illusion, jump out a window & test it.
You don't have a clear grasp of what you're talking about & you don't even remember what you posted.
Disproving Genesis proves that the Christian god is false because the bible is THE WORD OF that GOD. It is supposed to be the factual account dictated to man by god. It is utter nonsense & this proves that their god is not real. It doesn't disprove any god, just theirs. That's what you asked. That's what I gave.
Your ignorance & child mentality make it impossible to have a rational dialogue. It's also why you think you can worship a goddess & not believe in her.
"Hunderance to science?" If I believed the Goddess was capable of altering wheather or her blessings cure cancer, that IS a hinderance to science. It's going about life ass-backwards & prevents progress b/c you don't understand what the world around you.
The computer you use is proof that "my version" of science is correct.
As for your idea that it's ok for everyone to have their own idea of what science is.. that's just stupid. If you want to build a computer, you don't string together some bark, throw a little pixie dust on it & expect it to work, do you? Worse yet, there are people who think "drill baby drill" was a brilliant idea because they know NOTHING about science. People who believe what they want are a danger to those who understand facts.
You know nothing about science if you think the christian god's undoing is a revalation. It's common knowledge which is ignored by people who WANT to believe in fairy tales. None of your Wiccan gods or their magic are real either, but that's besides the point you were asking about.
My problem with other's beliefs is that they cause racism, bias & political problems when they're allowed into government. Believe what you want in your home, but NOT in public office.
"The Genesis creation account conflicts with the order of events that are known to science. In Genesis, the earth is created before light & stars, birds & whales before reptiles & insects, & flowering plants before any animals. The order of events known from science is just the opposite."
Within the first page of the bible it disproves itself & it's god. How can it's god be real if he doesn't know how the universe grew, let alone our planet?
Also... you ARE a theist if you are a wiccan. So if you do not agree with theism, then you do not agree with your own religious ideas.
As for "stooping..." Exactly what do you mean? Are you saying that it is rude or immoral to tell someone that they're wrong? That's silly. It's important to point out when someone has an icorrect understanding of science so that they can seek proper education. The human race must evolve and grow... not inbreed and die.
Im NOT an atheist, and no, it's not the same thing. Theists create poetic ideas of fantasy that yield absolutely NO testable/functional theories. A god could exist, but the the christian bible god does not. This is whats being proven NOT to exist. The problem with the "GOD" idea is that you're really talking about a subject which has no parameters. You change your idea whenever someone shows you why it is wrong. You refuse to accept that anyone disproved you & that's wrong.
Free market would work, but now we dont have free market, it´s a fixed market. Banksters know that they can do what ever they want because they will always pocket the profit and socialize the losses. If they wouldnt be saved everytime they screw up, they wouldnt take so much risks.
Thunderf00t please make a new video about the economy. Preferrably about the Federal Reserve scam.
@Lemonz1989 So how do you call all these stimulations, bailing out banks and huge bailout for Greece, Ireland and possibly many others? Isn't this trying to remove these fluctuations?
@Lemonz1989 Socialism is the govenment interviening the market. I'd say that EU is setting many prices and is influencing market. It's not as much as in USSR, not by far as much, but still.
@Lemonz1989 The IMF has a joint account with the US treasury via the agreement it has with the UN. Ever wonder why the IMF headquarters is in Washington D.C.? The IMF is mostly funded by the US. Universal healthcare is so inefficient and unsustainable that other countries pay higher taxes on everything to have it and they still need help from the IMF on top of all that. If the US dissolved its agreement to fund the UN's global socialist aid programs via the IMF you would be paying 50%.
this is exactly why america needs a new moderate political party Mccain= near market anarchy and theocracy obama= near communist socialist goverment and EVEN BIGGER debt we just cant win without a new party
@NKA23 well he is not a communist but i am essentisally laying out the extreme sides of both partys obama is a liberal thus sort of a socialist but to a lesser degree
@xxoxxoxxx That's right. And in which presidential administrations do you think the lion's share of that debt was accumulated?
Democrates are sometimes guilty of tax-and-spend, it's true.
Republicans, however, have since 1980 been guilty of borrow-and-spend, even more irresponsible. What's worse, they act like having referees on the playing field of Wall Street makes the game worse, where in fact strong regulators make it more fair (especially to Main Street), and much less bloody.
Finally one American doesn't believe in the drivel that the Milton Friedman-groupies who call themselves economists is feeding him. FACT: deregulization means destabilization. It's pathetic to hear the people who actually think Reagan sanitized American economy (the ACTUAL figures beg to differ) claiming the solution to this problem to be more of the same "medicine" that not only caused this crisis, but also turned economics in Britain, Italy, Sweden, Finland and so on to smithereens. Go TF!
It's well over a trillion and the banks are still insolvent even after the bailout. The U.S. government has lent spent or guaranteed over 12 trillion. The SEC said Bernie Madoff was legit. Regulators get co-opted by the industries they are supposed to regulate. People with R's by their name don't deregulate, they just talk about it. The federal register has exploded over the last 40 years. The clips of politicians talking are meaningless. They don't vote that way. They lie.
This is totally misleading and very ill-informed! Regulation caused these problems.Removing relatively recent regulations ( the last 25 years) ignores the older regulations (over the last 100 years) the started the problem. The bad asset problem was caused be forcing banks to loan money they knew they would not get repaid!Basically affirmative action. In a truly free market system this would NEVER have happened.People really need to study legislative history !!
i just don't get one thing, a trilion dollars didin't vaporize into the ether, it's in someones pocket being spent, and if it's being spent then it's still in circulation so after ~~ 5 transactions all of it comes back into the goverment account ( ~~20% tax off each transacion). unless ofcourse the trilion went into another country's economy, then it makes sense.
@tjohn1986 Oooh, I know, I know! Predatory lenders signing new homeowners to mortgages that they can initially afford, than jacking them up to a figure that they can no longer afford, forcing forclosure. Second would be homeowners having to give up their homes to take care of emergency medical expenses after their insurance companies screw them. Both of those could have been prevented by more regulation.
@funkbrother216 Should know the terms of mortgage and insurance that you signed. What a load of crap. Take responsibility for your own actions. I don't need govt. to hold my hand, maybe you do
@tjohn1986 You don't need government holding you hand and neither do I, but the mortgage companies do and so does wall street. The contract would say that if all payments are made on time for two years, you credit score will improve and your rate won't increase. The contract doesn't mention that paying on time for 2 years has no berring on you credit score and they can increase your rates anyway. These companies know what they're doing, though you may not.
@tjohn1986 I'm not talking about fixed rate mortgages, i'm talking about the adjustable rates. If I tell a buyer that their rates will stay the same if their credit score improves withing the next 2 years, knowing full well that there is no way that will happen, than i'm just as responsible as the buyer, if not more. You'll hold the buyer responsible, but you plutocratic nature prevents you from recongnizing the mortgage company's part in it.
@funkbrother216 I was pointing out the options available. And no the buyer is responsible for knowing whether his credit score will go up or not, not the banker.
As long as the contractual agreements were met, the buyer is responsible not the bank. The onus falls on you to know what you are signing
@tjohn1986 Fixed rate isn't an available option for everyone. When this happens, you and I pay for it. I would rather subject the mortgage companies to our false advertising laws than continue paying higher fees, rates and taxes until the average buyer becomes just as saavy as the average realtor.
@funkbrother216 It sure isn't. It's based on credit worthiness. Getting a loan is not a right
"I would rather subject the mortgage companies to our false advertising laws"
By all means, if they false advertised
"than continue paying higher fees, rates and taxes until the average buyer becomes just as saavy as the average realtor"
That's a very dumb statement. The realtor will of course know more because it is there job. By all means educate yourself but don't blame the gov for decision you made
@tjohn1986 [That's a very dumb statement. The realtor will of course know more because it is there job]
Of course not, you are the one making the argument to the contrary. Also, nobody's blaming the government except the right, who believes that the few regulations that were in place had caused the crisis. And once again, if I tell you when you credit will improve and I know it's false, it does't matter rather or not you know it's false, it's still false advertising.
@funkbrother216 I already answered that. If they false advertised then take them to court.
And if you want to debate economics, bring it any day. But I don't think you know much about free market (I am assuming here) since you seem to be advocating for Keynesian economics. Read some stuff about it. For example Milton Friedman has written extensively against Keynesian system. Then come back and we can have a debate
@tjohn1986 There must be a law created for that type of deciet that would allow one to sue them, or prevent it from happening to begain with. I'll read about Keynesian economics when it actually applies to my ideas, not when it's used as ad hominem.
Thank God you don't have a vote in America. It's people like you, that don't understand that Bush's extremely liberal fiscal policies got us into this mess, that are the reason we've elected someone who is doing more of the same.
You thanking the same god that Thunderf00t proves on a daily basis NOT to exist? Do you really think Big Business is looking out for the average American citizen? Do you really think electing members of Big Business to high up government positions is going to help? They pay each other to get elected so that they can change laws in their favor. You listen only to buzzwords and aren't paying attention to what is really going on. Or maybe you're just a republican.
@CrossTheGrigori LOL.....You believe any human has the power to disprove God's existence? Wow, you really need to wipe his nut off your chin. That's sad. And your understand of special interests in DC is so poor that it's a complete waste of my time to debate the issue with you.
I wasn't talking about a "real" god, just the Christian god. It doesn't exist. They are the only ones who don't understand that. It would be you who isn't worth anyone's time if all you can do is use crude language & use b/s bravado to pretend to hold the high ground. Learn to spell. Read a book. Grow up. BTW- this isn't a debate. I'm telling it like it is & you're acting like a child. A debate needs two intellectual parties & I'm the only one who meets the requirements.
@CrossTheGrigori Again.....Noone knows what god does or does not exist. You can make a compelling argument against such an idea, but to claim to have that absolute knowledge is asinine. If laughing at your ego makes me childish, then so be it.
Glad you can accept that you are childish. That's the first step. Now just do more research and have more compelling arguments and you won't get made fun of or embarrass yourself.
The point I am making is that there is NO evidence for the christian god. None. I don't claim to have absolute knowledge, but when all the evidence postulated has been refuted, then any reasonable person would understand that the hypothesis is false. The greatest minds say no to god and yes to science.
@CrossTheGrigori So you accept that you can't say whether God does or does not exist. Good, that's the first step. Now, we're going to jump into what are called "logical fallacies". See, you support your argument with the statement "the greatest minds say no to god and yes to science". This isn't an argument whatsoever, but rather a biased outlook based on your own opinion. There are many PHD's who disagree with your assertion. Again, your ego is guiding your thinking. Good luck with that.
There you go again, being a child. If you copy what I say, it just shows how much you admire me for my wisdom. I said I don't have absoulte knowledge & neither does your god. The bible proves that. I showed you. Since none of your "evidence" holds water, you have no proof. Something that has no proof is not considered true. When "proof" has been refuted, it's logical to deduce that the god hypothesis is false. GREATEST minds, not people with fake PHDs from DI. Hawking, Einstein etc
@CrossTheGrigori lol....."you quoted me so i'm smart! " haha, come on man. Your mind is made up. What a shame; a life that is nothing more than cells that took form. No objective purpose or cause. Just a chance to reproduce and then a slow rot. I suppose we'll never see eye to eye, or maybe we will, who knows. I do hope you open your mind and see that "evidence" constitutes more than what can be tested in a lab. There is circumstance, logic, and the aforementioned questions of cause and purpose.
My mind isn't made up, I'm just looking at the facts. You're just looking at a book written by primitives & claiming it's brilliant & true. Again, your argument fails. "Objective purpose"- not influenced by personal feelings, interpretations, or prejudice; based on facts; unbiased: an objective opinion. Your argument is wholly based on opinions taught to you by a long line of people who ignore evidence. And yes, evidence IS what can be tested in a lab. Your gut feelings don't count.
But besides that, I should clarify my stance. I don't exclude the possibility of a "god" type being or spirituality. It's possible. But your god isn't. It's the same god for the Jews, Islam & Christians. Same freaking god, just different branches & all are wrong. You know why? Because they're all primitive superstitions based on poetic drivel. One can interpret poetry to mean anything. None of the people or events existed. Fact.
It pains me that so many otherwise intelligent people are so ignorant of the causes of our booms and busts. Read Murray Rothbard's America's Great Depression. Learn about the Austrian Business Cycle. It is the entire world's fiat money systems and government policies that caused the imbalances that desperately need to be corrected.
Lacking an ability to respond in video, I must do so via text. It was NOT Deregulation that caused the issue. It is irresponsible Reregulation in the favor of businesses. Irregardless about that, the government should NOT have bailed out the banks. Creative destruction should have taken hold of those banks. Granted our economy would have had... a bit of an issue. But, those banks failing, would have had one benefit for the people, all the debts they held, would have gone away too.
yeah like obama isnt making it worse than it was, lets just print as much money as possible and devalue the dollar and see were that takes us, lets spend money we dont have to get us out of this mess, the worst part is im an independent who voted for this asshole because of videos like THIS.
Flippant b/s like this is why we need better news stations out there. First, you shouldn't have expected ANY presidential nominee to really make a difference. Second, if you voted for him, stand by him. Do you really think the president is a dictator who can do what he wants? This is an unmanagable mess & while he is falling short, hes working on it. McCain & PALIN would have burried us by now. It was the lesser of two evils. You aren't dumb. I'm not trying to fight. Just be patient.
Its pretty funny to see Democrats and Republicans argue about this. Nobody seems to understand economics very well. Its just the Democrats saying "more regulation!" While the Republicans say "less regulation!"
@allison8914 YES thats what i say. fuck money. b4 money, ppl traded items and it went well. now the economy is falling apart because of the unequal trading system.
@pocketmoney123 i don't really believe that the barter system was better. what i would say is a resource-based economy as the venus project proposes. a system where the resources and the technology of the world is used for the advantage of everyone. where everyone has a job and everything needed is supplied.
"a system where the resources and the technology of the world is used for the advantage of everyone. where everyone has a job and everything needed is supplied."
The problem is that everything Americans are taught is a matter of THIS IS RIGHT and THAT IS WRONG. When your media is controlled by people who's only interest is in profit then you can't be surprised when the non-wealthy suffer to pay for it; this attitude invades politics and becomes self-fulfilling. The poster of this video has managed to state the situation even though he lives there and is exposed to the media so it is possible to think critically about what you are told.
@Godsmadconscience You have to be a registered citizen to vote. Thunderf00t is a British National who happens to live on America at the moment. Any work he does while living there will be taxed accordingly... however... this still does not entitle him to vote.
How did the Republic party manipulate the cognative dissonance of sooooo many smart and good harted Americans to be blinded to see that these 'less regulations" policies which have all but destroyed our economy? How do they keep almost 50% of America closed minded to truth that deregulation it what allowed this to happen? How do they manage to keep getting elected and making so many people thing it was 'too big' of government that reates these problems?
Whoa. You believe anything those politicians are claiming? Do you really think anyone employed or funded by corporate fascism would object to its expansion?
we were robbed because filthy rich people didn't want to pay pennies to the regulators and because they didn't "want them sticking their noses in our business, it's impeding our ability to bankrupt the nation and steal their money". when the markets flourish, rich make money, when the markets crash the richest STILL manage to make money.
@admiralct I am by no means among the richest of society. The last few years I made less than 30,000 a year. I am currently unemployed. By watching my spending I have managed to make money during the current market crash.
thanks for comment. well thats good, very good. my point was that it would cost far less to hire more watchdogs, than it would to repair another market crash. this video says it cost each american $3,000, to save them, we get no such help from them when we're in the pits, and they're the ones that can afford it. some of these guys make 5K an hour!
I haven't heard anything so idiotic as this video for a long time. If those fucking banks would go banckrubt and their owners would be responsible (by paying the price) no one would ever lend money so easily as they did in the last decade. And by bailying them out, you do the excact opposite. THIS IS SOCIALISM not capitalism. Socialism made this crises. This pity country called USA has never seen the bad sides of socialism, I have and I say socialism sucks.
And I've never read such an idiotic comment. I and most of my countrymen didn't feel the crisis, and I live in a highly socilistic country. So much for your theory.
Socialism has proved to me being an unsustainable system, sooner or later it will collapse. Maybe you have succeeded in building a socialist paradise, but I for some reason doubt in it. Socialist societies are slowly rotting from the inside. When the government tells you what to produce and what to consume then it's simply no table to control whole economy. In soviet Union there was 20 million prices that had do be kept on the right level. it simply won't work.
Sooner or later everything collapses. Every system and ism is about control. Weather it be Socialism (where wealth is spread out) or Capitalism (where your only role in life is to consume). It's only about controling the masses. Remember the big four political/economical isms are apart of the same box.
Yeah, you're right, I know absolutely nothing about it. I don't know that it causes deficit of all goods, because nobody wants to produce anything, because the governemnt sais the price and companies can only work with loss. I don't know how the medicalsystem has absolutely no money to help people or buy new equipment. And for my luck, I lived in the wealthiest part of Soviet Union (thanks to bigger economic freedom, then anywhere else, we were even allowed to sell Ice-cream on the streets).
@xxxrrrxxxrrr Soviet = communist rule, proven to be a bad system in my assessment.
However I would ask that you check what the difference is between :
Nations with Communism - with socialism of course.
Democratic nations with socialism (Norway etc) - civil liberties, quality of life, of business.
A 100% planning economy like soviet is proven bad. Same thing does not count for some less %, thats a leap of faith. Socialist countries with market economy and capitalists exists you know...
@xxxrrrxxxrrr By the time the George Bush give money to bankers is called socialism, police man, firefighters, highways. ALL is socialism. BTW Europe is better that us and they have socialism ;)
Europe and socialism;) maybe in some areas. And if you really want to know, then USA has higher (about 20-40%) GDP per capita then most Western and Northern-Europe countries. Although diversity between rich and poor is higher in USA then in most of Europe.
@xxxrrrxxxrrr And gdp per capita is not the only thing to look at when comparing with europe.
Look at rankings in CIA factbook, for quality of society. Civil liberties, percentage of crime, and various other things also play in to judge how successful a country is. If you argue that we rank on top in those in SPITE of socialism, in a democratic and market context, being a terrible idea then i'd be doubtful.
That's not socialism either. There's often a 'battle' between nationalization (liberals) and privatization (conservatives) nationalizations is basically a form of state-capitalism NOT socialism. The battle SHOULD be nationalization (liberals) vs privatization (conservatives) vs socialization (socialists and anarchists).
i don't really agree that liberals are for nationalization and conservatives are for privatization. It might be true in America, but it's the opposite in most of the world. I, as a liberal, fight for all kind of freedoms :) social, economical, political etc.
@Chavadorf18 US taxpayers actually help pay for socialism in Europe. Money from citations goes to the IMF, and the IMF gives aid to countries to fund socialist programs like universal health care.
no they have mixed economies,. If they had socialism i.e. government owned means of production they would collapse, like the way soviet Russia did.
And besides, European nations are in massive debt (yeah USA does too, but Europe is supposed to be 'better'), the Euro is collapsing, and as a result many EU nations are freeing up their economies. For example, Switzerland has in recent times drastically cut company tax in order to attract foreign enterprise and boost prosperity.
@Chavadorf18 well i personally have a viewpoint of moderate conservitivism socialism refers to a system of MORE goverment support and control also europe is not neccassarily better than the u.s while norway and other countrys are doing well other countrys are not such as france which took a large hit in the reccession while i prefer a system of lower taxes and less govermental control i also belive that socialism is mabey not a prefered but at least a viable system
@NKA23 Well, if somethings is either control, dictated, or made by the goverment we a talking about a social service. I could think about police, firefighters and other stuff. In that sense every country has some socialism. Regulation is made by goverment so that percent is social, the rest is open market dictated by public. I'm sure there are more techical terms about what I'm talking about and specific as well. But in general that´s how I have seen the terms in different sources
I suggest you take a look at "Why the meltdown should have surprised no one".

When the US government tells banks to make 56% of their loans to poor people, that is NOT a lack of regulation.
20 million regulators? Doing what, exactly? Watching banks as they do exactly what the government wanted them to do (eg, lowering down payments)?

The bailout did not cost a trillion dollars, it cost multiple times that. The Federal Reserve lent out trillions of dollars at virtually zero interest to preferred financial institutions, corporations, and individuals.
This has been confirmed with information from the Federal Reserve as reported by Bloomberg News and Fox Business.
The Federal Reserve also purchased 600 billion dollars in US Treasuries as reported by major news organizations.

wrong,
1. it's not the number of regulators, they were there but they weren't doing their job, probably corrupt.
2. most of the regulations on markets are made by the corporations and special interests who use their money to buy influence in congress and nearly all the regulations keep small business down buy limiting their expansion and keeping the corporations on top
no offence thunderf00t but u r out of your depth, keep bashing Christians :)
oh and Obama voted for bailout as well
toberses11 10 months ago
@toberses11 agreed. It wasn't the act of removing regulations that caused this problem. It was the act of removing very SPECIFIC regulations as well as creating very SPECIFIC regulations. The problem isn't too much or too little regulation. The problem is corruption--the fox watching the henhouse, so to speak.
Term limits for all public office. Make lobbying illegal. Punish taking bribes severely. And prevent politicians from making money. Remove the temptation, and the corruption will follow.

CrossTheGrigori 10 months ago
@GothicWiccan13
CrossTheGrigori 10 months ago

I'm not the one who is delusional because we're not just talking about my opinions. We're talking about time tested science, versus whimsical fantasy. Where's you peer reviewed goblin anatomy findings?
You don't have any.
You have questions.
You have speculation on subjects that you haven't finished researching.
CrossTheGrigori 10 months ago
@GothicWiccan13
CrossTheGrigori 10 months ago
@GothicWiccan13

@CrossTheGrigori You could fill many books with information "disproving creationism", but that's where the argument stems from...

Also... you ARE a theist if you are a wiccan.

@GothicWiccan13

@Lemonz1989 Well, I agree, that European socialism is different from soviet socialism, but I'd still classify it as socialism.

@Lemonz1989 Socialism is the govenment interviening the market. I'd say that EU is setting many prices and is influencing market. It's not as much as in USSR, not by far as much, but still.
xxxrrrxxxrrr 1 year ago
@Lemonz1989 The IMF has a joint account with the US treasury via the agreement it has with the UN. Ever wonder why the IMF headquarters is in Washington D.C.? The IMF is mostly funded by the US. Universal healthcare is so inefficient and unsustainable that other countries pay higher taxes on everything to have it and they still need help from the IMF on top of all that. If the US dissolved its agreement to fund the UN's global socialist aid programs via the IMF you would be paying 50%.

DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT CAUSED THE HOUSING BUBBLE BURST?? TF00T YOU ARE AN IDIOT
tjohn1986 1 year ago
@tjohn1986 Oooh, I know, I know! Predatory lenders signing new homeowners to mortgages that they can initially afford, than jacking them up to a figure that they can no longer afford, forcing forclosure. Second would be homeowners having to give up their homes to take care of emergency medical expenses after their insurance companies screw them. Both of those could have been prevented by more regulation.
funkbrother216 1 year ago
@funkbrother216 Should know the terms of mortgage and insurance that you signed. What a load of crap. Take responsibility for your own actions. I don't need govt. to hold my hand, maybe you do
tjohn1986 1 year ago
@tjohn1986 You don't need government holding you hand and neither do I, but the mortgage companies do and so does wall street. The contract would say that if all payments are made on time for two years, you credit score will improve and your rate won't increase. The contract doesn't mention that paying on time for 2 years has no berring on you credit score and they can increase your rates anyway. These companies know what they're doing, though you may not.
funkbrother216 1 year ago
@funkbrother216 It's called fixed rate mortgage. Maybe you should be at least literate before signing a mortgage
tjohn1986 1 year ago
@tjohn1986 I'm not talking about fixed rate mortgages, i'm talking about the adjustable rates. If I tell a buyer that their rates will stay the same if their credit score improves withing the next 2 years, knowing full well that there is no way that will happen, than i'm just as responsible as the buyer, if not more. You'll hold the buyer responsible, but you plutocratic nature prevents you from recongnizing the mortgage company's part in it.
funkbrother216 1 year ago
@funkbrother216 I was pointing out the options available. And no the buyer is responsible for knowing whether his credit score will go up or not, not the banker.
As long as the contractual agreements were met, the buyer is responsible not the bank. The onus falls on you to know what you are signing
tjohn1986 1 year ago
@tjohn1986 Fixed rate isn't an available option for everyone. When this happens, you and I pay for it. I would rather subject the mortgage companies to our false advertising laws than continue paying higher fees, rates and taxes until the average buyer becomes just as saavy as the average realtor.
funkbrother216 1 year ago
@funkbrother216 It sure isn't. It's based on credit worthiness. Getting a loan is not a right
"I would rather subject the mortgage companies to our false advertising laws"
By all means, if they false advertised
"than continue paying higher fees, rates and taxes until the average buyer becomes just as saavy as the average realtor"
That's a very dumb statement. The realtor will of course know more because it is there job. By all means educate yourself but don't blame the gov for decision you made
tjohn1986 1 year ago
@tjohn1986 [That's a very dumb statement. The realtor will of course know more because it is there job]
Of course not, you are the one making the argument to the contrary. Also, nobody's blaming the government except the right, who believes that the few regulations that were in place had caused the crisis. And once again, if I tell you when you credit will improve and I know it's false, it does't matter rather or not you know it's false, it's still false advertising.
funkbrother216 1 year ago
@funkbrother216 I already answered that. If they false advertised then take them to court.
And if you want to debate economics, bring it any day. But I don't think you know much about free market (I am assuming here) since you seem to be advocating for Keynesian economics. Read some stuff about it. For example Milton Friedman has written extensively against Keynesian system. Then come back and we can have a debate
tjohn1986 1 year ago
@tjohn1986 There must be a law created for that type of deciet that would allow one to sue them, or prevent it from happening to begain with. I'll read about Keynesian economics when it actually applies to my ideas, not when it's used as ad hominem.
funkbrother216 1 year ago
@funkbrother216 There are laws. If the contract carried a guarantee from the bank that the credit score would go up then yes. Otherwise NO
tjohn1986 1 year ago
@tjohn1986 It DOES carry that guarantee, but there are loopholes and the current bill is designed to close those loopholes.

CrossTheGrigori 1 year ago 3
@CrossTheGrigori Again.....Noone knows what god does or does not exist. You can make a compelling argument against such an idea, but to claim to have that absolute knowledge is asinine. If laughing at your ego makes me childish, then so be it.
bahdahdoop 1 year ago
@bahdahdoop
CrossTheGrigori 1 year ago
@CrossTheGrigori So you accept that you can't say whether God does or does not exist. Good, that's the first step. Now, we're going to jump into what are called "logical fallacies". See, you support your argument with the statement "the greatest minds say no to god and yes to science". This isn't an argument whatsoever, but rather a biased outlook based on your own opinion. There are many PHD's who disagree with your assertion. Again, your ego is guiding your thinking. Good luck with that.
bahdahdoop 1 year ago
@bahdahdoop
CrossTheGrigori 1 year ago 2
@CrossTheGrigori lol....."you quoted me so i'm smart! " haha, come on man. Your mind is made up. What a shame; a life that is nothing more than cells that took form. No objective purpose or cause. Just a chance to reproduce and then a slow rot. I suppose we'll never see eye to eye, or maybe we will, who knows. I do hope you open your mind and see that "evidence" constitutes more than what can be tested in a lab. There is circumstance, logic, and the aforementioned questions of cause and purpose.
bahdahdoop 1 year ago
@bahdahdoop
CrossTheGrigori 1 year ago
@bahdahdoop
I'm curious as to your OPINION on "evidence."
Fact.

Subher0 1 year ago
Socialism has proved to me being an unsustainable system, sooner or later it will collapse. Maybe you have succeeded in building a socialist paradise, but I for some reason doubt in it. Socialist societies are slowly rotting from the inside. When the government tells you what to produce and what to consume then it's simply no table to control whole economy. In soviet Union there was 20 million prices that had do be kept on the right level. it simply won't work.
xxxrrrxxxrrr 1 year ago
Sooner or later everything collapses. Every system and ism is about control. Weather it be Socialism (where wealth is spread out) or Capitalism (where your only role in life is to consume). It's only about controling the masses. Remember the big four political/economical isms are apart of the same box.

xxxrrrxxxrrr 1 year ago
@xxxrrrxxxrrr And gdp per capita is not the only thing to look at when comparing with europe.
Look at rankings in CIA factbook, for quality of society. Civil liberties, percentage of crime, and various other things also play in to judge how successful a country is. If you argue that we rank on top in those in SPITE of socialism, in a democratic and market context, being a terrible idea then i'd be doubtful.

@Chavadorf18
That's not socialism either. There's often a 'battle' between nationalization (liberals) and privatization (conservatives) nationalizations is basically a form of state-capitalism NOT socialism. The battle SHOULD be nationalization (liberals) vs privatization (conservatives) vs socialization (socialists and anarchists).

no they have mixed economies,.
