The officer is extremely polite and is a gentleman.

The police shouldn't give these field tests when they know beyond a shadow of a doubt the suspect is intoxicated (e.g., this case) The "test" is their demeanor. Just do the blood or breath tests to substantiate for court. Any field test is dangerous to the suspect and only agitates the situation.

I have arrested people this drunk before. The dui tests can actually be dangerous at this point as the drunk could fall and hit their head on the ground. No point in doing a dui test when they are this intoxicated. Just hook them up, and get them off the street before they kill someone.
