U should use alternate picking for the first riff. It'll save your wrist :/ good cover tho. I think me and my friend are gonna do a dual guitar cover of this song.
well there's a few things you can do, go to radioshack and buy a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter piece and plug your guitar straight into your line in or microphone slot and get recording software, or do what I do get a multieffects pedal and plug that into your computer (i use a digitech rp150) the quality is awesome.

Yeah the tuning for this is in C, but when you talk about strings you refer to them in Standard Tuning, otherwise people get confused.
