Thanks for the list of stars in the video. Hope this helps: Jean Marsh is joined by Gordon *Jackson* (not Johnson), who was on "Upstairs, Downstairs" with her.
Put Down the Duckie reminds me of When Were Human, the song from the Disney film The Princess and the Frog and the film's main antagonist is Dr. Facilier.
Sometimes it is fun just to be a kid again.....you can see these celebs having an awesome time doing this and just enjoying life:)....put that ducky down!
Jeremy Irons should've gone "Put down the duckie or LET THEIR BLOOD REIGN DOWN FROM THE SKYYYY!" D&D style. Then light up a smoke off Oscar the Grouch's trash can.
@jonnell242 this HAD to be 1986, I can tell because the Mets players at 1:48 were wearing uniforms with a patch on the sleeve which they ONLY wore in 1986
John Candy at 1:25. Andrea Martin at 1:31. Mookie Wilson and Keith Hernandez at 1:47. Jane Curtin at 1:49. Madeline Kahn and friend at 1:53. Pee Wee Herman and Chairy at 2:04. Wynton Marsalis at 2:11. Celia Cruz (in Spanish!) at 2:43. Itzhak Perlman at 2:45. Jean Marsh and (I think) Gordon Johnson at 2:49. Rhymin' Paul Simon at 2:54. Jeremy Irons at 3:05. i was too old for classic sesame street, i grew up on bugs bunny, foghorn leghorn, daffy duck, roadrunner, but my twin boys grew up on this, how lucky was i :)
@gotmitch92 Isn't it ironic how "political correctness" has run amok, yet at the same time, popular music, television, and video games have become so blatently graphic, promoting promiscuity, drugs, crime, and violence, much more than they ever have, but this is okay as long as you don't "hurt anyone's feelings" and you make sure to show today's televised filth in a "politically correct" manner. I just find it a little rediculous at times.
Can you tell what exactly in this video can be constructed as politically incorrect, or what at least you see as PI? I'm not trying to be rude or aggressive to you, but I am really tired of hearing this complaint thrown out in regards to almost everything older then a decade, especially in cases like this when I cannot fathom anything in this singalong being insensitive.
(I'm an ethnic studies minor, so I have my own biases in this matter)
I think there are 6 people who wouldn't know GOOD children's television programming if it smacked them in the face... Vintage Sesame Street is AWESOME! Thank you for posting it!
