This is pretty much how a power supply in your home stereo is put together (less battery, of course): Transformer -> Rectifier -> Large filtering capacitor.
" I got an old microwave downstairs......................." hahahahaha kid the you kill me. Damn you're innovative. Seems like you really have a passion for this stuff. I really enjoyed your vid. Keep making and posting these vids.

[[ As my user-name suggests, I play 7 stringed guitars...dropped to A. In my full stack -2_4x12 cabs- one of the cabs is running 4 x 200w 2-Ohm car subs.. LOL. (love some "Death-Chugs"). Getting that wired without blowing 2 Heads and a mono-block pwr amp was FUUUN.But when a palm-mute makes your heart skip a beat - its sooo worth it. ]] TakeCare
First of all, i haven't even finished watching the video yet BUT - I really wanted to give you some props for insisting on PROPER wiring technique, tools, and pointing out safety when dealing with high Amp/Current rectification & "'bare-wire' what-will-this-combination-do" experiments. Awesome rig/job btw. I'll go finish the vid now :) - PeAcE
p.s. Again, brilliant usage of those "spare parts". Never toss 'old junk' out - it could be used to do... well... ALOT. lol [GoGo FrankenAMP!!]
instead of all that mumbo jumbo... ( i totally know what ur doin tho) just get a decent Car Battery charger with the fast start. mine sits at 14.8 volts with a capability of putting out 75 amps. while still achieving 14 volts. give it a try
will you sell everything up to b4 the batterys like the power module and the transformer things? and alos would you sell all you psu's and your volt meter? i wanna do a home setup but i cant find any of these things
@ManRossDamn yeah over the last few days ive been looking at regs, but getting some that can handle 50A+ is realy hard! ive seen a few circuit diags so ill keep researchin ;)
get a decent car battery charger and a regular car battery, bam power supply, just make sure you use the proper filters, few months ago i had my subs in my house hooked up to my receivers preamp outs, i used my 12 volt supply i have for my rc car, it only put out about 10 ams so i wasnt able to crank it but the subs were overkill for my surround setup anyway, good stuff...
@kwyjibosponge i kind of have the same setup but it gets a constant 15 v cause i got a smart battery charger , so the higher i turn it up it reads the voltage drop and sends more amps to the batterys i got, im using two batterys so it powers my subs real nice, check it out
@barevids i dont but my room is well ventilated, always got the windows open with fans, not too worried. what type of fumes do they give off, i never knew that actually
@jfo420 you should be alright then - theyre acid fumes which are flammable if theyre too dense, and can also cause harm to you if you inhale them for a long period of time regularly. But if you ventilate well you should be fine :)
@barevids hey can i use a car battery and a power supply together somehow???
like power supply charging batt and batt powering amp....
my voltage is at about 10v when bass hits so i need help ... i tryd to build the same thing but i did not get as many amps as u :( It even timmed the lights on my car radio.....

Damn, that is some awesome voltage.
You should just get a voltage regular, you're not feeding enough power to it with that skinny wiring.

@jfo420 That sounds good! have you got the batteries sealed in anything? Cos i'd be careful with the fumes they give out!
