Oooo, Tanzania...be patient! The capitalism is coming to make your life better! I'd like to see those people in 20 years...what did they learn, how are they living with that knowledge, etc...
They are so innocent, pure and simple ... It is ok to educate them...but only in order to make their life better. Do we really want to give them part of "advanced" West?
if only they would teach children about the same things in more developed countries. and if only children were as well behaved! children should not hate education, they should want it. parents need to help their children work for themselves rather than remain totally dependent late into life. but most people in developed countries can't see beyond their next payslip or what's on tv the next week. it is very depressing.
I don't mind the education part. But the people teaching me and the dull environment makes school very undesirable... I mean I've had fun teachers, but the majority of them just plain suck. :P
the only problem is that schools today provide a workforce in a production-line fashion. education is focused on giving children an ability to earn money rather than to actually learn something that they will see as valuable in the future. while "life skills" include shopping for food, cleaning your home and handling money, today's schoolchildren won't learn anything useful!
