try lythium greease for electical connections. you probably have brass steel bi metal plug causing dielectric corrosion from dissimilar metals try and all steel or all brass plug. just some thoughts.
Why is it whenever I come to connect my trailer plug to the car socket, I've found that they have both corroded beyond repair making the trailer lights malfunction, even after only less than a years use from them?! Why doesn't someone make a better design of plug and socket with better made components that are universally accepted within the motor industry? I think that the American trailer plugs and sockets are better designed than the Euro 7 pin plug and socket. I think I'll buy some!!!
