  • soldiers will be equiped with water pistols now!

  • High powered water can cut bullet proof glass but Chuck Norris can cut water:D

  • chuck norris pissing

  • lol now all the terrorists will be walking around with water guns shooting at the soldiers

  • this is actually a water jet cutter at work, it is infact high powered water with tiny sand particles in it to make it abrasive, if you think this is good it can cut through alot more like 10cm thick steel!

  • BULLETPROOF does not mean it will stop anything. It's designed to stop/resist bullets, not designed to stop high powered water.

  • now ive fuckn seen everything

  • I would not volunteer to sit in the car. I've saw a guy cut the front of his foot off with a water digging gun and that was only 3-6k psi and the diggers go up to 26~k

  • can u kill someone if u get them with that

  • so can this water beam kill someone in a bulletproof car?

  • now i know this is a waterjet machine but doesnt it use an abrasive also to increase the cutting power like pumice or something along thoose lines?

  • @silentknight2112 Yes in most cases they use an abrasive in the waters stream. Usually either garnet or aluminum oxide. I believe it is being used in this case based on the configuration of the cutting head.

  • So when I say I'll shoot you with a water gun, you'd best be running.

  • That's not a faucet you'd want to wash your hands under.

  • SQUIRT GUN BATTLE!

  • actually...its the abrasive silicon particles in the water that does the cutting not the water...thats simply an energy medium for transporting the sand

  • @sshhrroooomm ah i was just about to say that but i checked to make sure no one else said it first lol

    this comment is accurate.

this is not directed to you, but, its not "cutting" its more like erosion happening at like light years sped up lol

  • I read somewhere that there are actually little bits of sand in that stream of water. That's how it cuts so efficiently.

  • make a protable version and you finally have a water gun sniper rifle

  • @Jords464 I don't think it would have very long range, the waterstream would spread out after a short distance.

  • @Laofse true dat. more like a shotgun then

  • @Jords464 Would sure give your enemy a wet surprise anyway. :P

  • @Laofse *bloody :)

  • stick ur finger under there!

  • it just looks soo tempting to touch it XD

  • h2o not h20, but they are both incorrect.

  • Hey can someone test if it cuts through bone? lol

  • actually the correct term for h20 is h0h there is a reason for it but i forgot xD

  • @THbushcraft 2 hydrogen 1 oxygen

  • i realy want to fire that at some one

  • Not the weapon of choice if i was to rob a bank.

  • lol we should arm our troops with water gun now!! jk jk

  • Now if that was a water gun...

  • Can this cut diamond?

  • would this be able to cut a person in half?

  • @lisn92 yep totaly!

  • isn't it water and very very very fine sand in the jet?

  • Some comments say that it almost cuts trough everything.

so it's obvious that it can cut glass. Now i wondered what the surface under the glass is made of?

  • @speedstertje: A big bucket of water to stop the jet of water:)

  • @Grrrrrene Well thanks mister :) Took 3 weeks to answer, but somehow i Believe you :)

  • adamantium is indestructible :P

  • lol do u think it could cut diamond?

  • @CodMW2Predator they use it to cut diamonds too

  • imagine water pistols like that....

  • can you clean your bum with thatafter eating a super hot curry

  • that would really hurt if that hit your skin 0.0

  • @ImClichA naaa, you wouldent feel it because it would cut it all off as soon as u touched it lol

  • called a water jet

  • water is the hardest thing on earth....so to speak

  • diamonds

  • yea that was not correct buddy

  • I added "so to speak"

  • @manoman0 Giggity.

  • @manoman0 So am i xD

  • @manoman0 I'm thinking liquidized diamond shot at high pressure would be harder

  • @manoman0

yes because you can't compress water any more than what it is. and it can only expand. other hard materials contract and expand with condition change which means they's constant state is in mid state of density. they use water to cut metals too. Did you know that they discover they can now generate electrical power from just jetting water against a flat surface. Yup, we unlocked our DNA but we barely touched the potential of power outside its use though mechanics

  • imagine spraying this on a human o.0

  • Well this is not only water its sand too so...

  • Technically, its industrial garnets (normally)

  • water could cut anything in half and ill put money on it

  • dripping water hollows out a stone

  • what about a diamond

  • correct. This water is being fired at over 50,000psi. 50,000pounds/square inch is a heck of a lot of force.

  • diamond would still take awhile... but even at my job we have water cnc machines that cut like 5 inches of steel

  • what about time?

  • true: in my company we use it a lot, that is: our subcontractor doet it for us: you can cut the hardest steel without any heat-input!

  • @Nomam10productions Anything can cut anything else in half -.-

  • @Nomam10productions What if you were trying to cut other water in half that was going in the same direction as the water at the same speed under the same condition what then

  • @TheBigStupidHead a new big bang would commence

  • @Nomam10productions i bet it cant cut the earth n half

  • @paladain55 it cuts mountains and rocks thats earth

  • just str8 water? no sand or anything mixed into it?

  • Its just water, nothing mixed into ;)

  • In all fairness, water can't do this all by it's self, it needs help. In most cases there is a powderized abrasive media, typically Garnet based. Hense the name, abrasive water jet.

  • water can be very dense and is used for cutting or sculpting

  • I WANT THAT ONE!!

  • Wrong mate.

The sonic boom is produced when the jet goes through a sonic barrier, each one is at the speed of sound (340.29 meters/second) and also called MACH, MACH 2, MACH 3 and so on!!

    Get your facts straigh man!

  • damn

  • Of course something very thin would slice it. Now try making it thicker, and see what happens. Energy is more foucused the thinner the beam is.

  • @oros123456 Given enough energy, it really doesn't matter how thick the "beam" is ;)

  • Looks like a pure water jet - if they were using an AWJ the water in the tank would turn brownish from the abrasive.

  • high powered water can go through 3 feet thick of steel alloy, or titanium

  • is there a video of that?

  • in the description you say with nothing but high powered water. Dude high powered water is ridiculously powerful.

  • The water looks like a needle to me, but I'm not trying to say it's fake

  • @Masterpunch If it was some kind of solid needle, that'd seem more fake to me.

  • yeah its subsonic though but they use it for all sorts of things like cutting metal shapes i saw it on american chopper to help make the bike

  • its probably very hot too

  • Actually it's not, This is why water works so great for cutting. The glass would simply melt under intense heat. The food industry uses water jets to cut almost all professional photographed food shots because it's safe to not burn the food and is very precise. When we got this hammerhead water jet they demoed how mc donalds cuts there chicken mc nuggets from a big pile of chicken parts... Really gross, and i no longer eat mc nuggets. lol...

  • i hate to shower under that

  • it isnt purely water, they add a sand like substance..

  • water ftw with out water we would all die and btw i would hate if i was the glass lol

  • I would generally hate being a piece of glass.

  • wow that isnt glass its ice..

  • These things shoot out a fine beam of water under 60,000PSI at roughly 900Mph. Can cut through anything..

  • correct, infact at the tip of the jet where the water first comes out, it is traveling the speed of sound. Any faster and you would hear a sonic boom....

  • does it use sand or just plain water

  • where do u get your information? lol

  • @12GaugeLosAngeles At 900 MPH, the water is travelling faster than Mach 1 (761 MPH). So, yeah, it would induce a sonic boom, albeit a very tiny one. You can actually generate a sonic boom rather easily with a bullwhip.

  • @bewhyareohin

a water sonic boom ... lol

  • @bewhyareohin 900mph is like 130 mph faster than the speed of sound.

  • @bewhyareohin this is impressive. How high could it go? Same stream.

  • @XxRustymanxX Then add a bit of grit like baking soda and you will go through the strongest metal like it was warm butter.

  • water is one of the mostpowerfulest object in world

  • It's bulletproof, not waterproof. Actually, Kevlar is extremely resistant but is weakened by water.

  • It is actually a fine jet of high-pressure water cutting the glass, contrary to what some people have said... water cutters can be used to cut all sorts, I've seen it being used to cut steel on Discovery Channel :)

  • lol, In agreeing with Jay and Javelin...

Let's all take a moment to laugh at jakjak...

  • go get an enima from that

  • stupid description! like javelin said, sand cuts the glass not water, the waters just there to prevent heat and debris from flying everywhere

  • I was just about to clarify, but you did it for us.

  • its actrually called a 'watercutter'

  • Waterjet actually has little granules of sand and diamond dust in it to help cutting power

  • It's probably the only practical way for cutting bp glass, since it doesn't generate too much heat...

  • how come i pee dont work?

  • @guy209 because you pee dont come out at 900 MPH =P

  • im gonna go set up a hose as my houses security system

  • woow thats weird

  • thats a industrial powered water cutter. It's used to cut certain objects, such as metal, whichout changing its properties. And it's extremely powerful. It can cut a human body in half if you stand in front of it. I'm not surprised that it was able to cut through the bullet proof glass, it's meant for things like this.

  • What heppens when u put finger there?

Ima go try it now BRB

  • @SUBZERO90 Have fun typing up your response in how that went... :D

  • how

  • simple idea make guns to shot water bullets

  • you can't get enough range. good try, though.

  • water jet cutter, nice

  • May not be impressive looking, but it is WATER. Jesus.

  • The abrasives (sandblasting material) are used to speed up the cutting to acceptable times. The grit is injected into the stream after exiting the nozzle, or the nozzle would last only minutes or even seconds, as opposed to hours. The cutting table shown in the video looks like the one Dr. John Olson invented and markets through his company Omax in Kent, Washington, USA along with Dr. John Cheung, another of the early inventors of this technology.

  • My grandfather Ben Thomas was one of the inventors of the Waterknife (see US Patents 4,026,322, 4,029,440, and 4,306,627). I was allowed to see and use one the prototypes 30+ years ago, before abrasive injection was successfully accomplished (see US Patents 4,698,939 and 4,817,874). The velocity of the compressed water was what did the cutting (40,000-60,000 psi, shooting out of a watch jewel tipped nozzle of 2 mil diameter). It can cut anything given enough time.

  • Not even bullet-proof glass, it is regular annealed glass around 1/2 inch, bullet proof has laminations of PolyCarb...

  • they don't need to mix with sand, if they could achive higher velocities(so ke)

  • nice.. I wouldn't want that water jet pointed at my face.

  • I'm sorry, I was repeating what a senior physics lecturer told me, but apparently you know better. Truly, nothing shows that you know more than someone like personal abuse. So try not to swallow your tongue, k?

  • ya... sorry but bewhyareohin is right. they mix sand with the water

  • It's called a Hydrocutter, if I'm not mistaken. Most people to realise that water is actually one of the most abrasive substances known because (If my memory of chemistry serves me correctly) of the degree of polarity in the mollecule.

  • you are an idiot, its a water jet... and water has no abrasive qualites itself, it is mixed with an abrasive sand that actually cuts the material....

  • @bewhyareohin

I second that motion as all chemists think they know it all. Of course all generalizations are false including this one.

  • @bewhyareohin Really - put your fingers under that high pressure stream of just plain water then and see how water cuts without added abrasives. Air in a fine jet and high pressure can do the same to things like fingers.

  • @bewhyareohin Mmhm...tell that to the Grand Canyon.

  • @Nemisii rofl h20 is a liquid its a bloody lubricant
