  • who's the genius who put the door backwards?

  • It should be on DVD again for their 50th Anniversary(2010).

  • Did anyone notice how Peter paints a door with a knob on the left side and the boys open it from the right? The point of the door and knob was for them to get out. If they did it from the right side then they could have gotten out the whole time. So stupid.

  • "Famous indian proverb, when in doubt RUUNNNNNNN!" hahahaha! that makes me laugh.

  • yeah, they just kinda had a can of paint w/a brush laying around...

  • "poor Wendy poor Wendy poor Wendy" STHU! poor you poor you be quiet you annoying girl

  • Tigerlily: Bird must be omen.

    Indian: Good or bad omen?

Tigerlilly: *shrugs* Famous indian proverb. When in doubt *screams* RUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNN!!! *runs away screaming* (XDDD Tigerlilly is so silly!)

  • Dude, why do these Indains want a little boy?

  • @Quidam rofl Obviously, they have to increase their numbers...to me it looks a lot like their Native blood has grown thin, due to Tiger Lily's platinum blond hair.

  • I like that Peter's first response to hearing "we killed a bird!" is not that they killed a person but, "That's not a bird, it's a lady!"

  • @Trissana I never thought about that, but yeah I like that.

  • When i first saw this, i was about ...6 I think? But that was in about 2008, and when they opened that door, i was like....WOW!! MAGIC!!! its amazing what things in the FIFTIES can do ;)

  • Yeah but somehow I doubt these kids are sharp enough to get the cash up front.

  • Peter Pan pushed the poor little boy down LOl. 3:55

  • i remember being little and asking mom to put on The-Girl-Peter-Pan. And our copy was recorded off of TV complete with 1980s commerials of products and toys that are really outdated. as wonderful as the disney version was, this one always gave me more ideas of games to play

  • Why the heck are John and Michael singing this? And why are they going along with selling their sister into domestic slavery to a group of random dudes they met like 10 minutes ago?

  • @leahann517 earlier in the movie, Wendy agrees to go to NeverLand and be the boys mother and

"tell them all the stories she knows"

Don't start with stupid crap like this. It's a fun movie, don't take it seriously.

  • @leahann517 C'mon, who *didn't* want to sell their sister when they were kids? ;)

  • I think she said poor Wendy because she cant find where peter pan went..and is lost..o-o

  • I'm always sleepy after getting shot in the heart.

  • "famous indian proverb! When in doubt RRRUNNNNNNNNNN!!!!! O_o"

    LOL!

  • @Randomadventerers XD that may possibly be my favorite line of the whole movie.

  • I was only born in 1987 and I still grew up with this version. I remember from this part, I always thought you had to draw a door on things to get through them... oh me...

  • I just LOVE Mary Martin's voice. So rich, so genuine, so marvelous!

    ...Rowby

  • SHOOT THE WENDY!!!

  • haha famous indian proverb, when in doubt, RUUUUN!!!!

  • she made the door nob on the wrong side

  • "pooooor wendy! pooooor wendy!" Jeezus, she DESERVED to be shot.

  • Its funny when Peter Pan makes door by painting it. How did all of them fit in that house

  • @etb1244 the back of the house probably was against a door that went backstage

  • House for Wendy

  • I cant believe they thought wendy was bird

  • oh cosh.. again we have a GIRL acting as peter -.-'

  • @hupsutytto Of course it's a woman playing Peter. This musical was written with the intention that Mary Martin (the woman seen here) would play Peter. Furthermore, in subsequent revivals, a woman has always played the character, in no small part because the songs for the character are written to be sung by a woman, since finding a young boy whose voice hasn't deepened and can act well enough to carry the show is nigh impossible.

  • that scene at :28 reminds me of monty python kind of like the juniper berry scene in life of brian "Give us a sign!

He has given us a sign, he has brought us to this place!

I didn't bring you here, you just followed me!

Oh, it's still a good sign by any standard."

  • Tiger Lily oddly reminds me of Gwen Stefani.

  • the lion must of slept with that fucken big bird thing and there baby was all fucked up just like its parents

  • "Shhhh, dont wake wendy.............BUT LETS SING REALLY LOUD!"

  • She says that because it's what JM Barrie wrote in his book: "It looks so weary and as it flies it moans, 'Poor Wendy.'"

  • does no one else notice that her name gets painted on the door "WEN DY" lol

  • to be honest, if wendy was flying around like that shrieking the way she does, i'd have shot her too. but i still love the movie!! i have ever since i first saw it way back when (well, the 90's). my grandma had the vhs and me and my cousins would watch it all the time. somehow, it never bothered me that peter was played by a woman.

  • @LacyLuvsGodiva Yeah, it never seemed to faze me that he was played by a female either. I even think that the first couple times I watched it I didn't really notice until my parent's mentioned to me that women would often play male roles in the past, particularly in Peter Pan. Great play though. I hope my kids will love it as much as I did when i was little. Wow, it will be realllly old by then.

It's interesting how little kids seem to think all this sillyness is perfectly normal.

  • This was always my favorite part!

  • i like how john and michael dont seem to care that their sister is lying there seemingly dead. lol.

  • @crazystairs haha i thot the same thing. they're just like "huh"

  • famous indian proverb: when in doubt, RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNN!!!!!

  • i always wanted a house like wendys

  • i love it how peter paints the doorknob on one side and they open it from the opposite side. haha

  • when i was little i always thought it must be awkward for john and Micheal to accept their sister as their mother and be really excited about it.

  • who knows the cartoon edition, not return to neverland?

  • Who knows of a blond hair Tigerlily

  • At 1:39, Peter Pan says 'This is no bird, it's a lady!'

  • a blond tiger lily? oO i don't like it -_-

  • im currently playing tiger lily and im blonde

  • she hears and responds in her sleep O_o

  • when john comes out of the house, his tophat hits the door frame, rolls down his back he cathces it and puts it right back on hahahaha...not in script, at least my father said....he woudl know....he was john!

  • really

  • yea, he has his own IMDB page, hahah its so weird

  • omg i remember when i used to watch this every day!!!!!! literally!

  • when wendy flies in saying "poor wendy, poor wendy" what is that all about? why is she saying that?

  • lol yeah... I was wondering about that too... XD

  • In the book, Tinkerbell pinches Wendy as she flies and tries to kill her out of jealousy.

  • @AnnaYed Because shes lost without peter

  • @AnnaYed I always figured she was worried and distressed because she got separated from Peter, Michael, and John.

  • @AnnaYed doesnt make sense does it?

  • @AnnaYed

If I remember the story right, she's saying that because she got separated from the others.

  • @AnnaYed I think she's supposed to be kind of saying it to herself. But the actress who plays Wendy is a LITTLE too over dramatic. I wondered the same thing when I was a kid, but I have since taken theater classes where I have known people that tend to act like that.

  • @AnnaYed Probably just playing.

  • @AnnaYed in the book by JM Barrie, it's actually Tinker Bell saying it. Tinker Bell stole Wendy away from the group and was pinching her while she was flying, and she kept saying Poor Wendy to get the boys' attention :)

  • @AnnaYed Wendy was tired as she flew to Neverland as written in the novel by J.M. Barrie, and as she flew she wearily moaned "poor Wendy".

  • @AnnaYed Yeah the musical doesn't really explain that. In the book though it does. When they first get to Neverland, Hook shoots a canon at Peter, Wendy and her brothers. They are seperated from the explosion, and Wendy is blown far away. She gets lost and can't find Peter. She starts flying around the island in search of him. And being a big cry baby kept yelling "Why did I get seperated? Why me? Poor Wendy! Poor Wendy!" They cut all that out though but left the poor wendy part.

  • @AnnaYed She got separated from Peter and the others, and was out of pixie dust, if I remember the book right.

  • @AnnaYed In the book, am I the only one whose read it? though it is kinda weird, and it's understadable if you haven't, but in the book that's what she cries because she's really tired. (they were supposed to have been flying for weeks).

  • DOORKNOBS ON THE WRONG SIDE!

    LMAO

  • OH MY GOD! I remember this!

  • Did you know that J. M. Barrie made up the name Wendy just for Peter Pan? I just found that out; it's so cool!!

  • we're doing a production of peter pan. The girl playing Peter has a beautiful voice and so do the lost boys, but they ALWAYS slow down in the "we have a mother, at last we have a mother"

  • does this mean that the music is available for putting on this production?

Please, please tell me how I can get so my drama school can do it - they would love it. thanks!

  • Very Good.

Thank you for uploading it !

  • ma questi scemi sempre cantato soprattutto peter pan mi danno la nausea

  • Tootles looks like Fuller from Home Alone.

  • Yeah well It's not him.

  • when peter writes WENDY on the mini house does anyone else or is i jus me think that could possibly be where the term WENDYHOUSE comes from

  • That is precisely where that comes from! In the original book, she was nearly killed by the lost boys and Peter made her a little house to live in while she recuperated, calling it The Wendy House. To this day, the name has stuck.

  • wow i neva knew that but now i do thats so cool thanx xxxx

  • I just want to say thank you ten thousand times for uploading all this. My VHS is about 18 years old and starting to wear down a bit. I have always loved this version, even moreso than Disney. Thank you thank you thank you for giving it to me again.

  • Make us pockets? why is that so special? i always wondered why.

  • Because think about living in a forest without pockets!

  • I like how the doorknob is painted on the wrong side :P

    I love Peter Pan :)

  • me too!! Amazing how we noticed that kinda stuff too when we were little watching this. Least I did!

  • lol "famous indian proverb: When in doubt... RUNNNNNN!" HAHA

  • I wish I had that music and those freaky animals to announce my arrivals to places... hahaha

  • Michael is supposed be the youngest but i think that Tootles looks younger than Michael. I agree w/ the hush comment. Also where did they get the house frame? lol

  • Ha! She drew the doorknob on the wrong side of the door! Oops!

  • "Hush, hush, hush, hush, HUSH..." *sings and dances loudly* Hehe, I love musical theatre, it's so wonderfully disconnected from reality.

  • Haha, the lion put glasses on!

  • Hey! There is not story of Tinglebell trying to kill Wendy!

  • I suppose you mean according to Disney. This is the real Peter Pan, close to J. M. Barrie's original.

  • I read a book based on Barrie's original, not on Disney's one, and Tingelbell tried to kill Wendy.

  • Lol, Tinglebell??

  • These r my 2 ?s

Why would a bunch of boys want to know the ending to a chic flic story?

How come there aren't any lost girls that's not fair?

  • girls are much to clever to fall out of their prams...says Peter Pan in the movie with Jermey Sumpter...

And the boys want to know the ending to a chic flic story because they are just kids that never grew up they are still children at heart so as children they want to hear all those fairy tale stories...In the movie yeah the boys look sixteen or so but that's not what they are portraying...

  • lol

  • Wandy's brothers want Wandy to be their mother!!

  • The oldest Lost Boy (the one who shot the Wendy) is William Snowden, who played Friedrich von Trapp in the original Broadway production of 'The Sound of Music,' starring Mary Martin as Maria, the year before (1959).

  • haha.

the doorknob was painted on the wrong side.

    XD

  • POOR WENDY! POOR WENDY! ROFLMAO!!!!

Can someone tell me what that was about?

  • I want an answer to this too. Ever since I was a kid, that's confused me.

  • If I remember correctly, she's saying "poor Wendy" because Tinker Bell is pulling her hair as she's flying.

  • No its because a wind carried her off away from the guys

  • she's got an ego problem, I guess.

    XD

  • I don't think it has a reasonable explanation, but it suits the whole situation very well, makes the atmosphere so sad... at least in the book and when you're a child

  • wow... I love this!!! My childhood,,, wrapped up right here.

  • can someone upload the one with cathy rigby?

  • i swear peter pan is a boy

  • thye have women play peter pan because they tend to be more agile and sing in a higher voice, like a boy.

  • That's a good point.

  • tiger lily has blonde hair and she's an indian

  • she is royalty, she's the princess, and I'm GUESSING the directer wanted her to stand out like she was, with the long blonde hair. so yeah she's blonde.

  • mary martin makes a really tall peter pan

  • what was the point of saying "poor wendy"???=S

  • there are many grammitacail errors in the script that was written by samuael french thats one of them

  • it was written that way, it could also be that children, like Peter Pan and the lost boys, that have never supposed to have had schooling say the lines. duh.

  • how about, omg she got shot with an arrow?

  • yeah i dont get that either...that is realy confusing...

  • it sounds like a bird call, so it would scar off the indians. and something probablly happend to her that made her have a pity party!

  • Love how Tiger Lily shrugs in that Yiddish fashion, as if she's saying "Nu?"

  • Wow, Freud would have quite a bit to say about this one.

  • I love this scene!

And poor Michael.. Peter Pan almost knocks him over! (Check at 3:56)

  • I love how all the lost boys are wearing really rugged clothes except the one guy in like a hawaiian shirt lol

  • HAHAHA I love this so much...when I was a little kid I took my Mom's lipstick and drew a door and Wendy all over the furnitre,I got in trouble but it was well worth it,I just love this Peter Pan, Thanks for posting it!

  • tug or war over a kid yay

  • They're all in Neverland. They've forgotten what a lady looks like. You forget everything in Neverland that isn't constantly right in front of you.

  • so how does she survive this one? sometimes its because of the "kiss" that peter gave her.. well thats what it is in the most recent one...

  • peter says the button on her shirt saved her

  • oooh good good!

  • LOL I like how her brothers don't even cry at the thought their sister might be dead.

  • yup LOL and they also sing that they have a mother lol

  • When I was younger, I always wanted to make a lil play house like that.

  • Lol, the way she says "this is no bird, it's a lady!"

  • why is wendy saying "poor wendy"?

  • because tinkerbell was pulling her hair

  • point taken i never understood that either.

  • I love the person that put this up!!!

  • I LOVE PETER PAN!!!!!!!! Mary Martin is sooooo awesome!

  • I like the fact that the lion is near sighted. I wonder if that's where they got the idea for Clarence The Cross Eyed Lion on Daktari?

  • I love the oldest lost boy aka the one who shot wendy. i always thought he was so cute!

  • Ha ha. She's holding the arrow! They killed their Mommie!!

  • crazy scene! useless roof! the doorknob! hahahaha!

  • Indian proverb, when in doubt run!

  • lol i never caught it right away, but i noticed later when i was little, that they open the door, on the OPPOSITE side of the door knob lol also... it confused me when she was like "poor wendy! poor wendy!" whats that about??? lol

  • a house??? lol

  • great movie and a great musical party
