Harry Potter Subconsciously Makes us CHRISTIAN!?

I think that there are some issues that are very christian in HP. Harry shows pity even for his enemies. He saved Draco in the Room of requirements, he stayed with Snape while Snape was dying (at that time, he tought that Snape is a deatheather). He sacrifies himself for the wizarding world. HP shows us that even if you make mistakes, it´s never too late for coming back (Ron in the DH, Snape, Dumbledore after Arianas death). And friendship is the greatest gift of all.

I agree completely. And I'm thinking the "Crazy Christians" don't like it because it is so close to what their beliefs are, only infused with magic, something they see as evil/wrong. Some probably think it undermines the whole Christian institution. (Which is ridiculous. People shouldn't take fads so seriously. No matter how amazing they may be.)

the thing is, you could say all those thing with any religion in mind (maybe not the part with god, the trinity and the holy spirit) but most religions share the same basis of beliefs. you can link anything to anything and say that it proves something without it even having any correlation what so ever. I like your arguments but is it not just putting 2 and 2 together?

A) J.K Rowling ripped off everything in the Harry Potter books and put them all together into something readable.

B) It does make sense. Tom was Dumbledore's favorite, He thought he was so great soon he wanted to be the greatest so he fell and was evil then a savior was born that would defeat evil.

Almost anything can be compared to biblical stories; we hear them so much that they have become common themes like Cinderella (rags to riches) or Romeo and Juliet (forbiden love.) Witchcraft is bad because it makes people depend on "magic" for their daily needs instead of depending on God. I'm Catholic, and I don't see anything wrong in denoucing Harry Potter. P.S. Don't get me wrong - I still love your videos!

@Reibeckite Well, basically when you are following the values in the Bible you are following God. The Bible is full of morals, parables, and lessons that we should all apply to our own lives and live out, and the Bible is the word of God, so He probably thinks that those values are important or else they wouldn't even be mentioned.

Nei, du kan vel relatere disse tingene til hvilken som helt religion og trosretning. Det er bare vanlige, menneskelige verdier som lager en spennende fortelling med mange forskjellige karakterer. JK Rowling driver nok ikke noe Kristen propaganda altså. Alle historier, også helt fra før Kristendommen ble etablert, beskriver jo ofte en kamp mellom det gode og det onde. Det er en måte som fungerer, lager gode historier og lærer samtidig bort god moral og verdier.

I personally like the topic vlogs and sketches. the sketches really make me laugh. and I agree upon how many traces of Christianity show up in Harry Potter like for instance, Fawkes is the phoenix reborn from his ashes who also ends up saving Harry from the basilisk bite. Which I kinda saw as Jesus-like where he saves our sins and resurrects, etc.

I think you have missed a main point, Harry's sacrifice in the final book could be paralleled with Jesus' crucifixion, Harry accepts his fate, and then, like Jesus, comes back to life having had his horcrux killed (like Jesus takes away sin?) I think that would have been better than Lily's death :) Great video, it got me thinking (and that was what I came up with)

Because if you look at the whole story this way, a lot of other books would be christian related as well..
