  • spectacular i couldnt wait to buy my new prozessor

  • Hey great videos mate. But I think the i7 2600k 4,6GHZ runs smoother :-)

Sandy Bridge is at the moment the most powerful CPU on this earth!

    Thanks for sharing your videos.

  • looks better than my i3-560 & his4850 but after playing fsx from its beginnings, reading numerous threads and watching tons of videos I must say it heavily sucks. It will never play smooth because it is poorely coded. Regardless of used procesors, graphics etc it will always lag, jerk back & forth and look square unless someone rewrites the whole source code. Whatever Microsoft does eats lots of resources and sucks - compare IE to Firefox. It's not FPS problem it's code related, shame on authors

  • Cool vid. however have yo considered Droping the clocks a little and giving Hyperthreading a go? what differences in performance arw you seeing?

  • thats nice now where is the traffic and add ons :), got the same CPU/GTX 580 SLI, they costed me my pants and way more

  • Just play FSX on one hard drive and record with FRAPS to another hard drive. This way, the FPS drop won't be as huge.

  • What sort of FPS drop do you get with Fraps? If it's making it too laggy to get decent video from, you need to take another look at your new PC. I have a core2duo processor and still manage to get half decent fraps video by playing with display settings, so I'm a little bit baffled that a Core i7 system wouldn't do better.

  • damn. so great!

  • I wish I could turn my FSX up that high!

  • Hey man, great vid, but you reeeeaally need REX 2, as the potential for it to look AMAZING is great on this pc....

  • Hey FSXHD92 and uberwagn, go get a hotel room seriously.

  • @drbackjack

I deleted they're unnecessary comments. Thank you for jumping in.

  • lol go for a xeon...

  • Awesome... I'm still trying to work out how to get crap stable above 20 fps with a 920 at 4.2 ghz. Just doesn't wanna have it!

Can't wait to see more from this and really wanna know the results once you get the 480

  • there is no contest going on.. I don't understand your problem. I agree, you DONT NEED a pc like that.. that's why virtually NOBODY HAS ONE. That's why his videos are informative, because he shows what is possible with modern parts

  • Wow, I have seen the future. Amazing. This will probably be my next cpu, or maybe a 12 core.

  • What is your video card?

  • ATI 5870. Will be replaced by GTX480

  • Got gtx480? :D

  • @jcdb666

Not yet. Have to wait aprox. 14 days longer ;-(

  • @crashmax73 Why are you wasting your money on dumb stuff? My i7-920 @ 4.2ghz and 5870 runs FSX just as well as that if not better with my tweaks. You just wasted 1 grand on the 980x, and going to waste another 500 on the gtx480 which is actually worse than the 5870 in some parts?

  • @uberwagn

no worry. I'm an overclocker and I bought this stuff not only for FSX ;-)

  • @crashmax73 rgr

  • much did u pay for ya pc m8

  • @uberwagn this is not wastign money some people are doing some heavy duty stuff and need propper hardvare ATI sucks BTW

  • @uberwagn Your 4.2Ghz Quad core + ATI runs FSX better than his 4.6Ghz 6 Core + Nvidia? I want some of the stuff your smoking. Nvidia is what you want for FSX end of story.

  • @OriginalAtomicSheep - sorry man, but your post reeks of ignorance. You must not know much about PCs and FSX. The only thing to be gained from a Nvidia over ATI is SLIGHTLY better image quality, thats it. After bojote's shader mod, the 5870 can run just as well with super sampling. FSX also doesn't take advantage of 4 cores fully, much less 6. Not starting a fight here, my first post may have come off the wrong way, but just stating the facts.

  • @uberwagn yer i know fsx doest utilise all 6 cores, I was referring more to the clock speeds and the cache of the 980x and yes the difference in performance between nvidia and ati will be minimal. I did take ur post a bit too literally but I think it might be a bit too extreme to be taken as anything but literally wrong :P but I see you were just making a ridiculous claim to prove a point. But yer, 4.6ghz is nothing to scoff at for FSX.

  • @uberwagn And seriously dude, youre 29, shouldve figured out jealousy by now.

  • Nice. Very smooth when passing a crowd of skyscrapers. Above 25 fps??

  • Thank you! FPS are between 23 and 28.

  • niiceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
