I am a Matsayubashi Shorin Ryu figther, although I am still new, I have come to love the style, it is a complete system, with ground tactics, and everything, when I was ignorant about Karate, I did not know that there was actually ground tactics, elbowing/kneeing, and even clinch work, but now I have progressed beyond that.
His shotokan karate is very effective in the octagon through powerful, quick and accurate strikes put together with excellent footwork. his takedown defense is underated which he has learnt through sumo. and his ground game is very good through BJJ. Hes going to be the light heavyweight champion for a long time
True karatekas treats opponents strikes as if its a deadly weapon like a samurai's sword., If it connects you're dead. Thats why they have "dont get hit" " hit him first" mentality.

Ofcourse I have a lot of dignity for myself and great fighters. Lyoto Machida is very much different than Anderson Silva. If you look at their fights, Lyoto has never been overwhelmed by any of his opponents whereas Anderson Silva has - Travis Lutter, Dan Henderson (first round), Ryo Chonan (chonan's flying heel-hook), and Daiju Takese (silva got triangle choked). If you don't believe me that Lyoto Machida is better, then I guess I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Striking was both are very similar. If you did some research you would find that Shotokan was created in the early 1900's. Lyoto's dad simply used what he knew and adapted it to the huge brazilians he had to face. It is obviously very effective but it isnt completley invented by the Machida's. Like other forms of martial arts (jiu-jitsu), it has evolved and been improved upon throughout the years.

Really? Yeah, He's completely undefeated. Hasn't even lost a round in the judges scorecard. By stats, he has a record for average least amount of blows taken per fight (something like he takes 1 hit everyother round) and he has defeated more undefeated fighters than any other Light Heavyweight.

Most karate techniques dont work in a real fight. What lyoto does is incorporate his Boxing Muay thai in his karate footwork/mentality which is to get in strike and get out so no bobbibg and weaving. This only works if you got speed without it ul get mauled

Shotokan, Kyokushin, Kenpo, no one's ever used them with any sucess at all( Machida, Georges St. Pierre, Chuck Lidell). People will say that until someone drops them. Yes, the only difference is the rules. I am a Matsayubashi Shorin Ryu figther, although I am still new, I have come to love the style, it is a complete system, with ground tactics, and everything, when I was ignorant about Karate, I did not know that there was actually ground tactics, elbowing/kneeing, and even clinch work, but now I have progressed beyond that.

Machida is a very elusive fighter.
His shotokan karate is very effective in the octagon through powerful, quick and accurate strikes put together with excellent footwork. his takedown defense is underated which he has learnt through sumo. and his ground game is very good through BJJ. Hes going to be the light heavyweight champion for a long time

Even if Anderson Silva and Lyoto Machida did fought, Andson will lose because he won't be able to keep up with lyoto's elusiveness and pin point striking. Lyoto will frustrate Silva and catch his mistakes like how he did to Reshad and Thiago. Ofcourse I have a lot of dignity for myself and great fighters. Lyoto Machida is very much different than Anderson Silva. If you look at their fights, Lyoto has never been overwhelmed by any of his opponents whereas Anderson Silva has - Travis Lutter, Dan Henderson (first round), Ryo Chonan (chonan's flying heel-hook), and Daiju Takese (silva got triangle choked). If you don't believe me that Lyoto Machida is better, then I guess I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Silva is a much more fluid looking fighter...he has amazing foot work, combos is all around game! He killed Middleweight divison and he went up a weight class and hasn't lost in that either....even if Silva fought Machida who wouldn't lose his Middleweight belt since they'd b fighting @ LHW! Silva vs Machida = Machida would win period. Machida is well rounded in stand up and the ground. Silva is not very good on the ground he has been submitted many times. Striking was both are very similar. Besides, Silva ad Machida clearly stated many times they would not fight, because they are long time friends, who have been training together for a very long time . Both Silva and Machida very humble guys, that value friendship and respect. That's why I love them both as fighters.

Seriously though, (I did not read your argument) but Karate in the US was popularized by "Americans" and "Asian copycats" who dumbed down Karate into forms and cheap McDojo's that raked in cash in exchange for upgrading belts. Virtually all Brazilian Karate is taught by immigrating Natives. Plus, Kyokushin Karate is like Street Fighting. Karate isnt just "1" martial arts style. It just means "empty handed martial arts"

There is diffrent karate styles, for ex Kyokushin is full contact, and it works very well, atleast vs people who doesnt train anything like boxing etc.
Its just that Karate isnt "good" enough vs a wrestler and boxer etc.

If you did some research you would find that Shotokan was created in the early 1900's. Lyoto's dad simply used what he knew and adapted it to the huge brazilians he had to face. It is obviously very effective but it isnt completley invented by the Machida's. Like other forms of martial arts (jiu-jitsu), it has evolved and been improved upon throughout the years.
