don't worry so much about power as what kind of box you'll put them in. 80% of the subs performance comes from the enclosure, not how much power or what kind of subs you have.
For two of these subs, you'll need about 4.5 cubic feet w/ 70 sq in of port area. tuned to about 35 hz
throw about 400-500 RMS on that and you will have a very loud and pretty cheap system that will rape most installs.
I had one 12" explode in a box with a hole in it with my eclipse Ti sub and it sounded decent, but I put the explode in a Godzilla slot port box and ran a cycle test on it, and fried the pos.
a Sony XPlod P5 has 2 full inches of excursion ( the same as a 15" rockford fosgate P2 15") and a 4 layer voice coil. its not the shit sold in walmart, its part of there competition line ( which is VERY nice, if i do say so myself)
Their P5 10" Model, the one I tested, is pure garbage, and frankly if you think a p2 is a decent sub, then there really is no point in me trying to say anything, Both drivers are very entry low line ups and don't have even a margin or a "competition line". The only thing you can compete with them, is to see which one you could throw farther.
Neither the p2 nor your xplod have this so called 2 inches of excusrion. Usable throw on the 10" p5 is a sorry 6mm. 12mm front to back. half an inch lol
a REAL 12" P5 is a SONY XPLOD COMP SERIES WOOFER. and has 2 inches of excursion from near bottom out to full extension. and i may be thinking of a T2, the cone looked to be aluminum so whichever has the aluminum cone. and BTW i dont have a p5... i have 2 12" Hifonics HFis
Just because they call it a comeptition series doesn't make it so. Hell I could call my toaster, THe TR3000 Comp Series, doesn't mean it is.
The T2 has about 19mm of xmax, putting it close to the 2inc throw.
And the t2 is rated @ 1k rms but can handle 2.5 if boxed right, your snoy xplod can barely hold ground @ rated level. even 400 rms was too much for the xplod p5 10" model I tested.
that foil stuff that u hav on ur trunk...does that make a big diff cuz i was gona buy it 2 put them on my side doors 2 cover up some holes on the rear speakers of my 2 door but i wasnt sure if it was gona make a bigg difference in the quality or loudness or watnot of the sound....does it?

search damplifier
and get that
it's not "foil stuff"
They call is sound deadner, and it does exactly what it's called. It stops vibrations and reflects more low end notes back into the car
ProjectPechkin 3 years ago
yea i no its not "foil stuff" i didnt no wat it was bt ight ill think about geting sum for my doors
tsupra16 3 years ago
Damplifier and damplifier pro is much better then dynomatt xtreme. And priced a little better per sq foot.
Send me a pm if you want more info on what to get, andwhere to get it
