  • I beat every staff ghost

  • @Toc7871 Nice job! Have you beaten the Nintendo Staff Ghost or mine?

  • What happens when you beat all the nintendo staff ghosts ???

  • @AngeloWillems Actually, pretty much nothing. It sounds somewhat unrewarding, I know. The only things I've got by beating the staff ghost times were experience and a great feeling of accomplishment. On the other hand, earning Gold trophies in each and every class unlocks cool title and ending screens.

  • @NIGMAnsider My fastest time on this track is now 1:45:202 with Toad - Standard RB. I beat all the time trails and you're right only thing I got was a sense of accomplishment (aren't those the best?). What really gave me the most satisfaction was beating "Donut Plains 1" without using Drybones - Dry Bomber, I beat it using Toad - Standard RB. I feel like boosting through the grass without using a mushroom is cheating... :)

  • I expected MK3DS to be as good as MKDS, if not better. They must keep the Mini turbos as they were in mkds, there were just perfect like that. MkWii ones feel really awkward to me. Hope to see some retro mkds tracks in that opus :)

  • @MasterLuigiSW I couldn't agree more. MKDS' gameplay feels extremely accurate and polished, offering the best powerslide controls ever. I have MKWii too, but I'm currently playing GBA's MKSC on my original titanium DS (that's right, the phat one).

Indeed, MKDS controls are so good I had a tough time getting used to MKSC's "awkward" gameplay. Drifting and powersliding had never been so difficult to master! I've been struggling to earn three stars in all the tracks... And I'm talking about 50cc!

  • My best time on this track is 2:02:151.

  • @TheZa1994 That's an "okay" time, I suppose. Keep on practising and you'll definitely sub the 2min mark. Strive for that and good luck!

  • I'm going to buy Super Mario Circuit on Ebay too!

I'll see how high I can get in the rankings!

  • @federeriscol That's AWESOME news! I've been struggling to get 3 stars in 50cc class, though. Earning the best rank seems to be more difficult in MKSC. Besides, gameplay feels a bit lose in the beginning, mainly when you're used to powerslide in MKDS. I've got to hone my skills all over again! But I'M LOVIN' IT!

  • @NIGMAnsider Well, my DS is broken (again). My R button is broken, probably from all that snaking.

I can probably get a DS for less than £40.00, and MKSC for about £5.00. I'll sort it out!

  • @federeriscol Oh, gosh... You're probably pressing'em too hard... My classic silver DS (yup, the phat one) is still in perfect condition, including the shoulder buttons. Oh, wait: when you say DS, you mean the classic DS or the DS Lite? Some people say the original DS is (a bit) more reliable than the DSL...

  • @NIGMAnsider Yeah I used a DS lite. I pressed R a lot more often than you though probably! xD

By the way, have you got the game: Star Wars Lego something...

    It's quite fun!

  • @federeriscol Indeed xD

I was planning to get LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga for the NDS, but my wife convinced me to purchase the Wii version instead. The game is really fun and designed for co-op play. And we've got LEGO Indiana Jones as well!

  • @NIGMAnsider Well, I've got the DS version, and it's very fun, and it works your brain to, as you have to think about where to go, etc..

However some levels are a bit too glitchy, as Nintendo released the game before it was finished.

  • @federeriscol The Wii version needed some "polishing" as well, but the glitches can't prevent it from being a great game. We've been having a great time playing it!

  • @NIGMAnsider Well, enjoy yourselves! Who's better? You or your wife (lol!).

  • @federeriscol Well, it depends on the game genre. She's usually better than me with puzzles and "brain" games... The girl is a Sudoku master!

  • Well, I have 1:31!

    Videos, now...

  • @federeriscol Quite impressive, bro.! Over 15 secs faster than me! Congrats! In case you get your video uploaded, please make sure you add it as a video response ;-)

  • It's the best Mario Kart Circuit for DS, however you didn't make a very good time, I made on this 1:42.

  • @Vogelbr 1:42? That's FAST. Did you use the "snaking" technique?

  • @NIGMAnsider Yes man! Always using snaking on this circuit ;)

  • @Vogelbr Great. I thought you'd say that. You must be very skilled to play like that. Well done.

  • I agree, GCN Yoshi Circuit is one heck of an amazing track and I'm AMAZED it didn't appear as one of the retro tracks in Mario Kart Wii! However there is someone who has ported the map of this course and is creating this as a custom track for the game. Should be finished soon so I'm mega excited for it :D

  • @worldsboss Wow! Didn't know that. Recreating a Wii Retro course of Yoshi Circuit must be a real challenge! Thanks for writing, pal!

  • lol that's a great description! Thanks bro, it's appreciated =)

I'm still up for a wifi match, but guess what? My R button is broken, so you will own me man.

What sort of videos will you be uploading now then?

  • Hi, federeriscol! Man, don't you ever give up!? LOL! Seriously, it's been a while, isn't it? I'm glad you're back. Tell me, what happened to your older videos? I can see you got rid of 'em... I'm currently playing Spider-Man 2 for the NDS (it's a 2004 release, I know), but soon I'm gonna start playing Mario Kart Super Circuit, for the GBA. That's a great Mario Kart game as well. I'm not sure I'll post videos from MKSC though...

  • @NIGMAnsider Great! Good luck and I can't wait! xD

  • Awesome record again! By the way, what was the your first Mario Kart game? Which is your favoirte (if not this one).

  • @SomeFluffer64 Thanks! When I was a teenager, I had a SEGA Genesis and one of my brothers had a SNES. I used to play classics such as Golden Axe, Castle of Illusion, Streets of Rage, Sonic the Hedgehog, Quackshot, Toe Jam & Earl and so the list goes... My brother used to play killer apps such as Super Mario World, Top Gear, Street Fighter II, Donkey Kong Country, Gradius III, F-Zero etc. You can tell there was a huge 16-Bit competition between us... [continues]

  • Although I loved SEGA, there were several Nintendo-exclusive titles way too special to be ignored, even during the "console wars" age. Super Mario Kart was one of these games. Hence this was the very first Mario Kart game I've played. Years have passed, and I ended up buying a Neo Geo system. Pure 2D fighting frenzy, with lots of SNK arcade-perfect translations. But deep in my heart, I missed the good old era of Nintendo games... [almost there...]

  • When I got married, my wife just couldn't put up with my 95% library of fighting games, a genre she didn't like at all. And married gamers over the world know this can be a serious problem. Conclusion: I had to get rid of my entire Neo Geo collection (therefore, I'm still married LOL). I sold it to a game collector, and with the money I bought two NDS systems (and a Wii later). It was an excellent choice afterall. Finally, answering to your question: my favorite Mario Kart game is Mario Kart DS!
