Sounds just like our old rescue (1986 Hahn). What a shame that Hahn had to go out of business.

We've got the same engine on my department except its an 89. I love the damn thing but we're due for an upgrade. One of the air tanks fell out on our way back from a call last week.

Are there any manual Trans fire trucks in the USA?

do fire engines keep their air system charged so they don't have to wait to build pressure for the brakes when starting up?

@asulca593 Depends on the rig. All of ours have onboard aux compressors to keep the air up. Not all do.

an 87? man hope that thing is reliable and dependable yrs from now. government need to upgrade someday. still sounds great though.

@abram7117 my dept has a 85 gruman duplex and that thing is a monster still run's great yeah she's old but she's the most reliable truck we have.

I know that sound well, this engine is in the Orion bus that I ride all the time.

american car companies can make good diesels but they dont put enough in passenger vehicles

I watched a videoclip of another Hahn fire engine, but with a Detroit Diesel 6-71.

With proper maintance I have no doubt you guys will keep it running as good as it does now. :)

Nice sounding rig, seems to start easily inspite of it being 21 years old!
It better. Local government expects us to get 10 more years out of it.
