  • so removing the jumper wont fry my computer or hard drive if it is not compatible?

  • gaw-day-amm all youze muther fuckerz and your 'know it all attitudes' - fuckin' dicks. Go search Tomshardware com for "Seagate 1.5Gb/s, 3Gb/s jumper setting?" and you dumb muther fuckerz might learn a thing or 2. - HEY bro, cool vid, was a little short on "details" (seems primarily connected to the Seagate drives only?? - Seagate is fuckin' junk anyways - they got glass platters in them - drop them and your fukt.) FUKK these assholes, man - keep making vids little, bro.

  • Hard drive SLOOOOOWWWWW??? Remove those Jumpers!!

  • same case m8

  • forget cable management, use some tweezers next time.

  • use yout finguer nail and its a s. a. t. a. drive not sats like you prononce it

  • no regalur hdd can do more than about a 100mb/s so whats the point of doing this?

  • U need some cable managment

  • doesn't look like a hobby.

    what a beautiful cable management.

if it was your hobby, cable management is key, and ur case is kinda messed up.

  • @lloydlim996 Geez everyone is slamming me about my cable management. Whats the big deal? Give me 5 reasons why cable management is better than wires going all over the place. And custom pcs are my hobby, despite what it may look like to you.

  • @thefamilyk lmao 5 reasons. gimme 5 reasons why cables should be messy?

  • @lloydlim996 I never said they should be messy, I'm saying it doesn't matter, at all. Can you even give me 5 reasons why cable management is good?

  • @thefamilyk easy, cleaner computer, better airflow, coooler computer, faster computer. (:

    LOGIC (:

  • @thefamilyk

    1-it's visually aesthetic

    2-it lets air flow better

3-you have less of potential fan damage (wires running in them)

4-less dust will collect if you have them in the back of the case

5-easier to isolate cable to parts. meaning if I need to take my HD out I can clealry see where the cable is..

6-potential short due to wires touching (Not sure..just tired)

7-i'm tired and need some sleep good night..

  • @thefamilyk Air Flow

  • @thefamilyk air flow man air flow!

  • @thefamilyk 1 - Looks very nice

    2 - looks clean

    3 - More airflow

4 - you can change parts or mess around with your computer without getting trapped in the wires

5 - You can overclock the crap out of your computer without it melting

Those were the best that came to my mind lol

  • @thefamilyk air flow..... wires heating up together.... ease of access to components... Aesthetics and makes it easier for you to make decent vids...

  • @thefamilyk 1 bad cable management looks messy

2 bad cable management can restrict air flow

3 good cable management shows how good you are at routing cables

4 good cable management looks better then the shit job u did

5 proves your cable management skills

  • That jumper only sets the SATA mode of the drive. Just pull it out. But note that if it is already as Sata 3gb/s you aren't speeding anything. Oh, BTW the antistatic bag only protects objects INSIDE of the bag not on top of it

  • @NOXXism rofl and he said a pair of needle nose is best to remove jumpers... actually the tool to remove jumpers works the best! :P but thanks for the vid anyway man :)

  • this video only needed to be 10 seconds long. take out the jumper to speed up hard drive. got it.

  • please don't post after me, just thumb up or down.

This guy is a douche, you cannot change the INTERNAL speed of the drive. No drive can pull more than 150MB from the actual disks. SATSII at 300Mb speaks ONLY of the external transfer - AKA the cable to board.

Also note that the rated speed is megaBITS not BYTES.

  • Someone wants to get blocked...

  • a safety pin worked fine for me

  • lovley cable management :D

  • Ho needs that anyway it will just short down life time and you probably damage it waste of time! just let things be as they are and they stay forever

  • How do you know it will shorten the life time of the HD? Besides, some people like to leave their computers the way they are, and other people like to get inside them and mess around. It's a hobby.

  • Well i'm just warning people that maybe don't know what their doing because this is shorting it's life time trust me iv'e been doing this since i got my first computer back in early 90s

  • Im wondering how this will shorten the life of the drive too. Do you mean you might accidentally rip something off with the pliers, or do you mean even if you perform the procedure as the video instructs using the drive without that jumper shortens the drives life? A little explanation would be nice...

  • Every thing is made to last so and so long if you do something with it as a little just to open it it will live shorter it's made that way

  • You still have not explained how enabling SATA 3gbps shortens the life of the drive. WHAT does removing the jumper do to shorten the lifespan? Dont forget this isint some kind of hack or overclock, the jumper is there to limit the drive to SATA 1.5gbps in case you have an older SATA controller not capable of 3gbps. On my sata drives its purpose is clearly outlined on the drive label with no warning about not removing the jumper.

  • the funny thing is it don't work on ATA drives or on SATA 1 drives this jumper just makes the drive go from SATA to full SATA 2. it is not going to brake anything or shorten the life span of the drive. it will in no way speed up the hard drive ( drive spin speed ) but it will increase the speed at witch the data is sent over the SATA cable. most people will not notice much if at all of a difference..

  • Why do it anyway why not just buy a faster one, well might be usefull for older HDDs which people want a bit faster

  • sata2 are the newest drives other then ssd. why would anyone want to pay more when they can pull the jumper and have a faster drive without spending more money and it is really simple.

  • It will last longer then the older ones

  • i thought that hard drive cage looked familiar. I just built a computer for a friend with that exact case. It's really great for the money.

  • i have 2x seagate barracuda 7200.11 500GB and i dont have this on my 2 hds

  • a small bit blury but 5 *****

  • try tweezers

  • I agree, tweezers would work better than those pliers

  • you should use a special tool meant for that job. it has for wire prongs which grip the jumper.
