Great game, best music I have ever heard. Everyone else who trashed this game can go fuck themselves. Coming from someone who played Ace Combat 6 and found the story weak, the characters mediocre, and the combat to missile be strictly oriented, this game was an experience.

@JessFromMead Ace combat 6 wasn't really very good at all, 5 and Zero were my favourites (more epic music from this guy :D and the story for both was amazing)

I think this game could have improved by making DFM less scripted, and of course do a better story.

Namco has stressed greatly that Assault Horizon isn't Ace Combat 7.

I enjoyed this game, and I only consider a holdover until the next entry.

Had one of my most epic ace combat moments on this level. Managed to engage one enemy fighter in DFM. We climbed to a high altitude and he dropped straight down dive bombing the base. I was trying to take him down with the gun, and we were both doing barrel rolls of death headed straight for the ground. The ground beneath us was exploding 7 ways to hell, and just as we were about to crash I got the kill shot and pulled up just in time. All the while this music was playing.

hey for rookies that say that without auto regeneration the game would be impossible, learn to play!, i've been playing the game in ace mode and there is no auto regeneration and i can beat every single mission and it isn't that hard, it is harder of course but nothing excessive

@DaveTE15 That is essentially the essence of dogfighting. There's a reason they call a large dogfight a "furball". Modern air combat's prefered tactics are to fire from afar. Close range dogfighting is avoided if possible purely because of the high risk. The only difference is real pilots use tactics such as one plane flying off to draw the others on their tail, whilst their wingman comes in for the kill: something you rarely see in most multiplayer air combat games.

@MrAzzameen Sounds tough. If I could get online I would try my best to do coordinated attacks and assists and such after watching some of those tactics in past Dogfight scenarios, but that's just me.

@Piolet231 If you have a headset for voice chat you can dominate if your wingmen work as a team. Not only that, but it's such a thrill for someone trying to shake someone in Dogfight Mode whilst you're looking for him and then getting right behind them and activating Dogfight Mode on their stalker. DFM ironically keeps the game realistic as it stops people being suicidal. After all in reality if you have a bandit on your tail, you ALWAYS go defensive until a wingman can get behind them.

Though I wish the DFM could be a bit more optional.

In most cases, I've experienced that all you go for is that tiny DFM lock circle to pop. It's all you're going for in a dogfight in this game. And it's a bit hard to escape the DFM without doing a countermaneuver. DFM is awesome, I love it, but i love the good old furball as well. ... I take it back, I always end up in a furball whenever I attempt to get the DFM lock before my opponent do.
