Ok, honestly, thats the dumbest idea ever. Besides it causing people to lose their jobs, and costing thousands for just doing the BASIC task of pumping gas it wont work on all cars, it cant unlock gas doors with locks on them, it can scratch your car and dont you have to get out to pay? how's that work. How lazy can you get where you cant even pump your gas. Stupid idea.

Well there goes tens of millions of jobs if this catches on. Especially in Oregon, where it's still illegal to pump your own fuel. That's pretty much the reason why too, for jobs.

But that is a good thing. We NEED as much automation as possible, HUMANS ARE NOT meant for doing meanial labor tasks and hard work. We are meant to use our minds, and work smart, not hard.. Let the machiines toil and wear themselves out, instead of us. We can then focus on millions of more new jobs building and designing, engineering, and also maintaining this new technological society!! Wouldnt you rather get paid ten or 15 bucks an hour to type on a pc, or lifting heavy boxes all day? :)

Honestly, I would much rather do something hands on, and if that hands on is lifting heavy boxes all day then so be it. Not every one enjoys sitting behind a g-damn computer for every waking moment you know that? Likewise not everyone can be an engineer, or architect. Most people as a matter of fact cant simply because they're not smart enough, or simply don't think in the correct terms in order to do it. There are more problems with this, continued....

pt2.... This is what happens with "industrialization". 5 people loose their jobs because 1 machine can do the same work as them at half the cost. However, it only takes 1 person to operate, or design, or build that machine. There fore there is a net loss of 4 jobs. In other words 5 jobs were completely taken off the market for good, only to be replaced by one job. They all can't go to college, most can't afford it with bills to pay, food, ect. Most are pretty much just shit outa luck.

I just love this - I can not stand when my hands smell like gasoline. I used to like it when they had sanitizer at the pump, but that is not available very often anymore. Great story kate!

Huge advantage is that you can stay in your car while your tank gets filled. Really good when you are at some deserted fuel station in the middle of a dark night. Disadvantage: You can not drive away unpaid any longer.

This high tech robot works by registering the car as it pulls up to the pump and matching it to a database of fuel cap designs and fuel types. A robotic arm fitted with multiple sensors then extends from a regular gas pump. It carefully opens the car's flap, unscrews the fuel cap, grabs the fuel nozzle and sticks it inside the tank. It basically works much like a human arm would...and the inventors claim...it's just as efficient. Please comment in the box provided ;-)
