  • êtes-vous sûr que c'est les années 1960 ??? Cette musique a trouvé le secret pour avoir toujours 20 ans !

  • I was a teenager in Catanduva, SP, Brazil and used play this tune just before to go to the bed. 1964…what a time, what songs, what life…

  • Nice choreography, guys.

  • That was used in the movie Scandal.

  • @ebf1957 Wasn't that like the best scene ever to fit this song? I loved the movie and I loved the song long before that.

  • HANDS IN THE FUCKIN AIR WHISTLE POSSE.

  • JUMP ON IT, JUMP ON IT

  • Like this version better than the BBC4 one from a few years later, 'cos this one is faster..the roots of surf punk yeah. This song is fantastic, and I agree with Henry Foley that most of the stuff being made today is crap soon to be forgotten, but not all; there's still some good stuff coming out...and I'm not old but not young either ;)

  • Everyones music of their youth was in their opinion , the best.

  • @mr1168726 this was the music of mum and dads youth, and that was a few haircuts ago, awesome music the old school stuff, none of the head banging and excessive bass.

  • @Kiwilogtrucker Yeah your'e right Mate, I was one of those " haircuts ". What a lot of people dont know is, that this era inspired the great artiste's / bands that were the backbone of the 60's-70s music, a lot of which will still be remembered the in the same way for decades to come. Most of the rest is really rubbish, or is that my opinion because of my age? Take Care Eh?.

  • Click Like Players Control Guitar Work all Team :D

  • THE ORIGINAL ;)

  • Sounded terrific to me as a horney 16 year old in 1960, still sounds terrific as a horney 66 year old ;~) Growing old is a done deal, growing up ain't ! Enjoy your air guitar ..........I was in London though, great music, check Jonny Kid ;~)

  • Sounded terrific to me as a horney 16 year old in 1960, still sounds terrific as a horney 66 year old ;~) Growing old is a done deal, growing up ain't ! Enjoy your air guitar ..........

  • I like the sound of the Fender Stratocaster better.

  • Extra, super music.

  • I heard 3 different versions of this song this year. It's amazing in how some of the same songs evolved over the years.

  • Kind of cool choreography typical from those days!!!

  • man this song makes me feel somthing wierd :/ GREAT :D

  • estos eran machotes

  • Classic stuff !

  • The bloody Yanks may have killed off the poor Apache savages, but it was the Brits who immortalized their spirit through this song.

  • @Diogenes1360 We were still English when we started in on that

  • It the bit were they walk, it gets me every time, love it!

  • A mai zenének is megvan a sajátos szépsége. Csak légy nyitott és meglátod! :-))

A Shadows viszont már klasszikus, bizonyított.

  • The line-up in this video is Hank Marvin, Bruce Welch, John Rostill and Brian Bennett. Apache was originally recorded in 1960 by Hank Marvin, Bruce Welch, Jet Harris and Tony Meehan.

  • Little Blue - These are the original members of the group playing here; Hank Marvin, Bruce Welch, Jet Harris and Tony Meehan.

  • Is the members John rostill,Hank marvin,Brian Welch, brain brennett,?? I am little bit confused.

    / Little Blue

  • brilliant

  • A big classic !!! Hello from Italy.

  • Where's the mosh pit?

  • Great...could someone please tell me the MAKE and MODEL of those guitars please? Cheers!

  • @superspit google "Burns London guitars" and you'll find them, the reissues are great!

  • This tune will last for eternity. Not like the rubbish of today.

  • @HENRYFOLEY

Yeah - for sure!!! Today's music is beyond total rubbish! Today's music is souless and without any artistic freedom.

  • @HENRYFOLEY Sounds like a closed minded old man to me. Why not be eclectic instead of saying all music today is rubbish.

  • @DirtyD777 Not closed minded but ,yes old. But will you still know today's songs in 40 years time ? I dont think so.

  • @HENRYFOLEY die, baby boomer.

  • that was pathetic

  • English audiences like clapping on the beat like Bennie and the Jets.

  • Hank is the best, and never underrated guitarists.

  • Great version in live. The Shadows are the best group in your class for ever.

    Long life to The Shadows

    Greetings from Chile

    Alexander

  • OH LA LA les Shadows !!je retrouve mes 15 ans !!! C'est GENIAL !!

  • Just love it, what a fabulous trademark sound on the guitar.

  • @rhavinga it's a burns marquee

  • It's amazing how many people have sampled this song.

  • Ask kids today about synchronised guitar-neck-lifting and sidestepping and they won't know what you're on about. What has the world come to.

  • Are Jett and Tony there or is this after they left? I think they recorded Apache but left just after to record Diamonds and Scarlett O'Hara

  • @TheHillbillyHermitt1 Sorry to disillusion you, but Jet didn't record either Diamonds or Scarlett O'Hara... he wasn't well enough to play, so another guitarist is actually playing (Jimi Page?)... I was gutted when I found out..

  • @Owdfolkie. You really ought to get your Shadows history correct!! Jimi Page NEVER played with the Shadows - he played with the Yardbirds and Led Zepplin. Jet Harris and Tony Meehan both played on Diamonds, Scarlett O'Hara and Applejack. I know because I was a session muscian at the time!!!

  • Its sounds like a cowboy soundtrack.

  • Apache a fine Chevy Pick Up .

  • toute ma petite enfance, j adore

  • What a legendary theme!

  • Yikes 18 people do not have their war paint on.

  • The original recording was by Bert Weedon, but his record company dawdled about putting it out,in the meantime The Shadows recorded it and had the hit version. There are others by The Ventures,Jorge Ingman, and Edgar Broughton who did it as Apache Dropout.

  • dam, alot of bands play that same song!

    what the original?

  • @elfowp The Shadows are the ones who originally recorded this song

  • cool song sounds like something out of an old western movie

  • Hank Marvin, Bruce Welch, Jet Harris. Legends all….

  • I'm into hendrix, van halen, blackmore etc but I absoloutley adore this guitar anthem, wonderful.

  • lemme smang it gurl !

  • pro

  • Oh, how fabulous is this - Hank the most underated guitist ever>

  • @MACHAWK123 He even Influenced one of the pioneers of Heavy Metal, Tony Iommi. So yeah Hank is real underrated.

  • @MACHAWK123 Come on - Roger Daltrey himself has admitted that when The High Numbers/The Who started playing in the early 1960s, Hank B. Marvin WAS KING.

  • @MACHAWK123 Underrated? Hank is a legend!

  • @MACHAWK123

    actually steve lukather is

  • Hell Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Almost kind of a spaghetti western sound track thing going on there too.

  • the always do the same dance thing

  • Hank B. Marvin

  • @Utubestir The Ventures and The Shadows both started in 1958. We had Cliff Richard (sir) who sang at the front of the band for many years. The Ventures started the surf music craze and of course the most famous theme music the world has ever heard...Book him Danno!

  • the British Ventures!

  • These guys rock!

  • sounds like the "surfs up..." :)

  • Just to think that it was the Shadows that Neil Young took inspiration from with his first band "The Squires" Listen to The Sultan" on the Archives Vol 1 an you'll see what I mean. Great stuff!

  • this song brings memories :PPPPPPPPPPPpp <3

  • good rhytms. i know only this song but i appreciate this

  • I remember this song.It was a big hit in Europe in the 60's.What a great song.

  • You can see where jim morrison got his inspiration from?

  • @mustangscott33 Uh No

  • I bet Explosions in the Sky got their 3 guitars, drums, and no vocal idea from these guys.

  • It's a shame that by the time this video was made the Shadows had changed their guitars from Fender to Burns. Hank only looks right playing the Strat, the first one ever in the U.K.

  • @shakeypitt Cool you even got that...I would still love to have one of those Hank Marvin Burns gits to see...thought it was really cool reading about Burns gits in Vintage Guitar.

  • @SydbarF I think Hank (or Brian to his Mum) had tuning issues with the Strat. The tremeloes allowed the strings to detune on the early Strats, I believe. Fender came in with the "Trem-Lock" which cured the problem. Hank went to Jim (?) Burns and asked him to make a guitar with similar electrics. And the rest is Geography....no, Maths....no, History.

  • @SydbarF So not only did Hank have the first Strat in the U.K.,he had the first Burns Bison!! What a legacy to the British pop industry!

  • @shakeypitt Sorry but I have never seen or heard of Hank playing a Burns Bison

  • @fincaman2 Yeah, you could be right; sorry. Those aren't Bisons that Hank and Bruce are playing there. Probably the 'Marvin'. Doesn't have the same visual appeal as the Strat....

  • @SydbarF They're still in production-go to the Burns London website.

  • playing Burn's Bissons all!!!!!

  • I learned to play this song on guitar in 1964. I was covering the Ingmann version. I like it better. I liked the cute dancing moves with the guitars and the suit and ties. Musicians have come a very long way!

  • @jpavlvs I agree Igmann owns this song,nobody better !!!!

  • Oh! Best

  • I remember playing this song in marching band in high school... like 1982. Funny thing is, I thought then that the Sugar Hill Gang version was the original :-)

  • I remember playing this song in marching band in high school... like 1982.

  • Como é bom saber que há registros dessas músicas. Pena que hoje não existe músicos que tenham a coragem de fazer esse tipo de música. Preferem pendurar uma guitarra no pescoço e tocar lixos.

  • @edelcio6 Falou tudo!!!!

  • My brother hsd this as a single, wasn't the B side Quartermasters Stalls ??

  • @Grum51 Yeah, it was a spoof title on Quarternaster's Stores (an old Army song) . Because the TV drama Quatermass and the Pit had been a huge hit series, the Shadows called this Quatermasster's Stores.

  • So amazing!!! Viva La Shadows!!!

  • Dedicada a Luis Prosper

  • This song is pretty amazing

  • Tony Iommi said the shadows were his biggest influence. but by watching this, you can tell kiss got their stage ideas from this band, and probably the New York Dolls.

you can also hear Ghost Riders in the sky. Not to mention Roy Orbison. and who ever talks about this band anymore. I am very impressed with this video. thank you so much for sharing this. Peace.... thumbs up this comment if you agree...

  • Hank Marvin is a Guitar GOD !!!!!!

  • great...

  • hell! cant figure whos the lead... ^^

  • @blitzaxis Look for the glasses !!!

  • @fincaman2 oh yeah! right.. thanx..

  • @blitzaxis don't you like the ingman version its better

  • @bello1125 cant fin the link.

  • The guitars they used were Burns-Balwins ,made in London England ,they kept going bust and then re-appearing ,made later in the north of England ,now made in the far east . Brian May of Queen uses their pick-ups on his guitar ,very intresting history -google it .

  • Sorry to be so naive but what kind of guitars are those fellows playing? They look like Gretsch's maybe?

By the way this song is great and ste20000000 is right: that fill is wonderful.

  • Love this stuff. My Dad had their greatest hits album when I was a kid - i played it all the time.
