I bought a new 2009 R1, and it did the same thing, It's the CCT, I didnt buy the first CCT when they put out the first service bulletin, I waited until they made the 2nd version of the CCT, Ive had no trouble with it! I have almost 20,000 miles on it, $100.00 investment, 5 minutes of work to change out? No big deal...
mi english is so bad..... i have the same bike, i buy in 07/2010, and the same problem appears when have 3000-3500 km...in the store yamaha, dont know the problem..solution: change CCT... right now have 5000 km, and no problem.... but i have serious doubts, because i dont know if the cct new is the same, no modified, i dont have news if yamaha modfied/adjust the cct 2010.....the bike and me live in spain....
yamaha doesnt give u the same tensioner....they give u a totally new manufactured CCT ....and i've yet to see one come back in when the proper recall was done
APE cam tensioner is where it's at. Put it on mine.... Sounds mint totally fixed the problem. Yamaha will keep giving u the same oem mistake. Ape is a manual tensioner
mate just take it in and complain... they should replace it as mine was WORSE in Australia they will replace if you take it in. have read stories of people chains jumping teeth etc YIKES! go get it replaced.
Ohhhh I CRINGED when I just heard that knock
