@360Nomad What world are you living in?Being a soldier myself, I have nothing against the Marines, but saying that they have " superior weapons, uniforms, and command structure" is way out of line. Last time I checked it was we the Army that play with all the nice high tech shit and are running programs to make the next generation soldier. (i.e. Future Force Warrior among other things.) At least the Army doesn't fall under the Department of the Navy. But we're all battles in the end so whatever.

No. The 30,000 men who died I think refers to the deaths caused by al-Asad's nuke in MW1.

America and the West help the Russian Loyalists defeat the Ultranationalists (or so we're led to believe at the end of MW1) but in the end, the Ultranationalists still end up winning. And since the war against al-Asad was just a decoy war, those 30,000 men and women seemingly die for nothing. Hence, Shepherd's anger towards the situation.

one thing I aint too fond of is the fact that you play as a marine and as an SAS partly because only 5-10% of marines make it into the sas (dont know what the USMC to delta force is) so ur playing as two completely different types of soldier basic training is 6 weeks to get an average man to a soldier yet these marines\para's who become SAS\delta force get an additional 6 months training so it just feels odd imagine MGS4 playing as snake one minute and a resistance man the next

They are not Marines. They are U.S. Army Rangers. Rangers are trained for two months+. Marines are small fries compared to Rangers. (Rangers=Semi Special forces)
