  • SINCE THIS IS NOT AN ORIGINAL FLOYD - DOES IT STAY IN TUNE? HOW DOES IT TAKE THE BENDS?

  • your picking technique reminds me of Marty Friedman. Do you somehow listen to him?

  • @avegailtadiarca - yes, big fan of the Megadeth-Friedman years. Thanks.

  • beautiful guitar, nice playing and AEROSMITH! ROCK ON! :D

  • I wish Gibson would do a 30 day trial :/

  • What kind of amp are you playing?

  • mama kin!!!!!

  • Beautiful guitar. Do you find that some of the tone gets sacrificed because of how light it is ? I like thinner necks, I can't play 50s necks and I can't stand how heavy some of the les pauls are. But I love the tone...

  • @Machin3God - not at all...i have owned lots of guitars and my Axcess has amazing tone. I switched to the stop tailpiece version though just bc the Floyd seemed to be at an ackward angle. Try a chambered LP, they sound fantastic.

  • @Machin3God Heavy?? work out a bit. more waight is more sustain.

  • I dont know that much about guitars, but I always had the impression that sustain depends mostly on the construction quality of the pickups, is it not?

  • @MrPanoskanellopoulos - it's a combination of the wood selection/quality, the pickups and the bridge.

  • The top is all maple but not bookmatched.Bookmatched would be 1 piece of maple split in 2 and opened like a book so the grain would be the same on both sides. This one has 2 different pieces of maple that don't match.

  • I think the belly scarf is the belly contour (like on a strat) the neck contour would be called a contoured heel.. by the way can i just say.. you have a lot of really expensive, nice stuff.. are you rich!? ha ha

  • I DID ENJOY THE DEM-

  • What the hell is wrong with the top on that? The fact that something like that is coming out of the custom shop is disgusting.

  • lovely guitar, how much did you get it for?

  • your guitar is half maple top half normal hahaha took me time to notice but dude!!

  • This is such a beautiful guitar.

Good review man, nice Areosmith riff!

  • Heey man, wiked demo! what is the name of the song/riffs that u r playin on it? they sound sikk as!

  • how do guitarists do the string scraping and hit a note like zakk wylde and stuff, ive seen many do it, sorry if i cant really explain it, its like you sweep the strings but palm muted and you hit the note you want then

  • @Shiraz157 it's called raking, look up a lesson on stevie ray vaughn raking, it takes a lot of practice.

  • The axe is great and your playing is awsome, man.

I just 'dlike to say that what you call the "belly carve" is not what you show in close-up @ 0:45. That's the special axcess neck joint. The belly carve is the other cutout in the upper part of the back of the guitar that make it comfortable on your belly. They call it the stomach cutout (or something)...

    Cheers ;-)

  • Love your playing style and I have to say that if I was to get any Les Paul it would have to be the Axcess.

  • can you do a dive bomb on it??

  • you picking hand needs to be uncurled some, if you keep your pinky, middle, and ring fingers straight it helps you get a cleaner tone, and it makes right hand hammer-ons and tapped harmonics quicker.-SS

  • :) nice.

  • thats a nice sounding amplifier my friend

  • to much gain...

  • OMG i hate when ppl tell me the spec just fuckin play!! i can look everything up in the spec!! Please ppl just play!!!

  • Это антиреклама!!!Этоже надо так испохабить звучание такого высококачественного инструмента! На какой,черт возьми мобильник было снято это видео и звук!?Негодяи!!!

  • @388nikolay

    THATS what he said!

  • holy shit!! epic tone!!

  • Nice playing. It is made in one piece or is the neck one part and the body another and its glued ?

  • Does it stay in tune easily?

  • @Lokar92 - I actually didnt keep it to long. I ended up getting a version with a stop tailpiece. it's in some of my other videos.

  • @defleputube Did you think there is a very noticable change in tone from a Floyd Rose compared to a normal LP stoptail type bridge? I like this idea, but also like the LP tone which might partially come from the normal bridge type? I've heard that especially if you are using EMG pickups, it's hard to notice tone change from different bridges. Thx.

  • @ctalbert1 - I sold my Axcess with the Floyd and bought a stop tail piece version. I would say the tone was basically the same. However, the stop tailpiece gives you much better sustain. You are right about EMGs. EMGs really just wash away any tonal variation from wood selection and bridges. I really don't like EMGs for that reason.

  • @defleputube to get better sustain withe a floyd rose just get a brass sustain block upgrade for about $30 it makes a huge diferance.

  • This looks like an awesome guitar but fuck, i'm not paying 3000$.

  • i wish i could have one. it sounds so sharp

  • YOU HAVE A FLOYD ROSE ON YOUR PAUL! USE IT MORE!!! Nice coil tap feature too....

  • Gibson says this guitar is weight-relieved, not chambered. There is a difference.....rock on

  • how's that thing play? i would imagine its gotta play like butter with the floyd and the locking nut...

but can it do like super drop tunning?

  • that color is so awesome! love the floyd rose!

  • the curve can be called the "contoured heel" too. :)

  • got a little bit of fret buzzing there..dude :)...nice but I say with LP standard

  • My Michael Kelly has the cut away in the back too. Makes it alot easier to play.

  • Sounds pretty good. My LP copy sounds kinda like this at the end when you're demonstrating the coils split. What strings were you using in this demo video? (Brand, kind and gauges)

  • forgot to put this in there. CAA is the best amps out there man

  • dude no offense but u got screwed on that maple top.

  • yeah like its half flamed

  • @cessnapilot182 its indeed not symmetrical, one side is flamed and the other seems plain.

  • @cessnapilot182 haha ya he did it loooks like shitt

  • @cessnapilot182 what wrong with maple top? i have a guitar with it i wanna know please answer here or in inbox

  • @GuitaristEliKing from my experiences with maple wood guitars especially the top, is they are very bright and treble sounding and a bit harsh till the wood ages and settles in. my 95 American std. strat is maple neck and it took a while for it to sound real cool. i have a 1980 custom Carvin les paul type model with hard rock maple top and neck--depends what amp it goes thru, sounds great on Peavy 50, not so good on Fender trans. 2-12, pretty good on a Marshall though i never had one

  • @GuitaristEliKing there's nothing wrong with it. the flame is just screwed, half is flamed, half isnt.

  • @GuitaristEliKing the maple top he has isnt book matched, a quality contol issue

  • @cessnapilot182 why that, just curiouse ???

  • how much? :-)

  • @restrictedpersonnel $5,292 :P

  • holy diver!! that's a lot. i wish i could afford it. i'm actually playing a les paul with floyd rose on my orianthi video. it's an epiphone though lol

  • they retail for $3500.

  • @defleputube That's about $4500 more than I can afford

  • @restrictedpersonnel How much would the epiphone axcess be, do you think?

  • @superstriker00 oh i didn't even know if it's going to be available with epiphone....possibly around 800-900 maybe?

  • @restrictedpersonnel Hm... I'll have to look it up...

  • Holy shit, that clean tone is beautiful!

  • whats the single coil song???

  • If I recall its Richie Kotzen playing on Poison's 1993 release Native Tongue. Song is Until You Suffer Some ( Fire and Ice).

  • loving the choice of song :P

    aerosmith baby!

    well done

  • Surprisingly, I don't like the tones but it might be the amp or the settings of the amp, but the distortion tones here don't inspire me at all

  • Ya, I didnt have the correct equipment to record a video with real audio, I am getting the stop-tail piece of this guitar so I'll post much better clips in a few weeks.

  • You are getting another Axcess Les Paul? You da man!

  • Ya, I sold the one with the Floyd but I really still want a Les Paul. I had two other guitars with a Floyd so I realized it wasn't for me.

  • is there a section cut out of the guitar for the floyd rose trem. i dont see where it could be

  • yes, its inset...its pretty much in the body.

  • im wondering should i get a les paul with a floyd rose or just the stock bridge

  • I would get the stop tail piece...i found the floyd rose to be in an ackward position...thats why in the video i barely use it.

  • what song is he playing??

  • Aerosmith's Mama Kin, later covered by G n R.

  • dude dont get me wrong u made me realise that it sounds good but isnt one o the biggest deals about the Les Paul Axcess the floyd rose yet u barely touch it in the whole demo??

  • great video!

  • Great demo dude!!

  • Sexy Guitar, I always love Gibson Les Paul !!!!!

  • NICE!! KICKS ASS!! Better than a PRS Tremonti

  • sweet, i want one.

  • burst bucker 1 and 2 the first 2 woeds to the title is les paul standerd

  • What p'ups does this have?

  • I like that gibson have brought something out with a floyd rose, as expensive as it is for us here in australia, it would definately be the guitar with a floyd rose for me

  • How much does the famous Les Paul sustain suffer with the Floyd Rose?

  • @guitaraddict73 I dont think it would lose a lot, if the floyd rose is good quality it doesnt really effect sustain, the guitar probably loses more sustain from the chambered body

  • Comment removed

  • i really love les pauls, but i dont think a floyd looks good on it, but that probably just me

  • hey good playin man, can anyone please tell the name of that last song played its beautiful

  • thx dude. Its Poison with Richie Kotzen on guitar from 1993's Native Tongue album. Song is call Until You Suffer Some ( Fire and Ice). Peace

  • thnx for replying dude that song is really .... soulful thnx again!

  • how can you even begin to compare a floyd and a bigsby

  • lol

  • bigsby is for the rockabilly-twang style wobbling, FR is fir the screaming nuff said.

  • a floyd rose isn't better then a bigsby, its a matter of opinion. A bigsby wasn't designed to do the things that a floyd can. I personally like the feel of a bigsby better, but I do love my ibanez that has a floyd on it.

  • also depends on the style of music you want to play

not everyone needs a floyd or even a tremolo at all

still very cool that they created the option in the les paul to have it!

  • I believe that the 'Belly Scarf' is not that smooth cutaway at the upper frets, but the smooth cutaway that you see at 0:53 at the right side of the guitar. It's called the Belly Scarf, because it makes the guitar 'fit' around your belly, wich is more comfortable.

  • you should play some rush

  • nah rush isnt not that great plush many people hate them im not starting shit

  • You go to hell. You go to hell and you died

  • why cause im right nobody wants to listen to a singing goat

  • you should have been aborted

  • In response to Linkbulletbill.

For the record its a tremolo bar, not a wammy.

But as for bigsby vs. trem.

Bigsby's are more for a light vibrato, not a lot of upward pitch change capability, which is why i personally am not a fan of them. Trems are much better for just about anything , the only problem you tend to encounter with a trem is knock offs, if its not floyd rose, its not worth your time, you may also have some trouble keeping in tune, but trust me, if your looking for a bar, go trem.,

  • Is Axcess's Tremolo a Floyd Rose?

And what's with Bigsby? If it doesn't allow a lot of options?

Bigsby has to have some sort of advantages? I know one already, a tremolo falls down, while a bigsby stays at the same place... But still you get use to both easily... Hmmm... lol

  • What's better...

A Bigsby or this whammy bar...

Which one can you do more... Uhm... Stuff?

  • A Floyd Rose is a lot better than a Bigsby.

A Bigsby has its limitations as it can't go downwards, whereas a Floyd Rose can go both, down and up. A skilled player can use these techniques to make the guitar growl/scream.

Floyd Rose bridges also come with double locking systems. Put simply, this means that when you use the bar, the strings will not become de-tuned.

That's why a Floyd Rose bridge is better than a Bigsby.

  • then what's the point of a Bigsby?

Oh... Floyd Rose is already build with the guitar (well no, but you know what I mean)... Bigsby is something where you have to put it on yourself... Bigsby is for guitars who don't have tremolos already on them...

  • To be honest, I don't really know the point of a Bigsby. I know it is less expensive than a Floyd Rose, but I think Floyd Roses are worth the money if it's within a budget.

  • Is there any advantages of a Bigsby over a Floyd Rose? lol

    ANY?!

  • Cosmetics. Thats all can think of. Floyd Roses are a lot more stable in terms of tuning, and you can do dives and screams more easily, and with Bigsby, it would go terribly out of tune.

  • An advantage is that it goes hand in hand with vintage guitars.

These guitars do not need Floyd Roses installed. Instead, they are just fine with limitations of a bigsby.

I would only play with a Bigsby if I was playing a Vintage guitar. If you plan on getting one on an electric, you're better off avoiding that and purchasing a new guitar with a Floyd Rose. Reason is because Floyd Rose bridges are costly. There will also be the added cost of having it installed.

  • Actually I checked out the store, and I prefer Floyd Rose... But yeah, this guitar I found at the cheapest price was $3000 dollars... Good deal...

  • there are plenty more than 'any' advantages. a bigsby is just for vibrato, while the floyd rose is the actual whammy bar that does the drops and squeals and stuff.

  • but the floyd could be used for vibratos too...

  • i know, i was just saying that the bigsby is JUST for vibrato

  • it would be nice white w/ black hardware and LP custom headstock inlays

  • I want this guitar!

  • the contour is awesome cause you could reach higher frets easyer cause i saw a picture of a 24 fret les paul but it look like you couldnt reach them

  • This guitar is much different than a standard LP. There is nothing blocking u from the higher frets and its a very thin and light instrument.

  • Is that coil/tap thing unique to these guitars? or you can do it with a standard paul?

  • Its not unique. Its just an electronics option.

  • what song are you playing at 3:12? it sounds really good with the coil tap

  • Mama Kin, Aerosmith

  • what kind of amp is that? nice demo btw.

  • why has this model only got flame maple on one side of the body

  • I played one of these at Guitar Center yesterday, and I was impressed. The Floyd was a nice addition, and the neck wasn't too thick. Still not as thin as I like, but it sure sounded great and was fun to play. I didn't notice any quality issues that Gibson seems to be known for these days. This is the only Les Paul I would even consider getting.

    Nice demo!

  • are you using any pedals? and what kind of amp is that?

  • he tells you

    watch the whole video

  • Great DEMO!!!

  • if someone hasn't said this already but the belly scarf is the cutout that allows you to cradle the gat to your belly on the top edge of the body...

  • that thing is amazing.

is it possible to get a standard les paul bridge replaced with a floyd rose?

  • No, because the angle of the neck is unique on this Les Paul. Basically, this guitar has an entirely different body and neck contour. Try one at Guitar Center and you'll see what I mean. You may want to check out an ESP Eclipse.

  • oh. ok, thanks

  • Yeah but the curved maple top would leave gaps and all so the Gibson Custom shop may be able to if you send one in....

  • yeah, it is, but you have to hole the les paul....

  • i wonder if these things could survive a dimebag squeel...

  • yes

  • i would love to have a Gibson SG with a Floyd rose!

  • i can tell you dont really like to use your clean channel

  • Oh my god! A les paul with a floyd! I need one!

  • i'm pretty sure the belly scarf isnt the neck joint, its the carved out bit on the side, similar to a strat

  • you're right

  • what song is that at 3:10?

  • I believe it's Poison's Fire and Ice from Native Tongue originally performed by Richie Kotzen

  • thats correct

  • Made my day to hear "Mama Kin"

    Awesome guitar and playing

  • i want to see this guitar handle some dimebombs and all those other tricks, see how that would go....why coulnt they come up with this ten years ago? DAMN THEM!!!!

  • I wonder what it would sound like with EVH Wolfg Pick ups?

  • i would love to see that

  • Yeah but what about the blinking eyes???

  • I noticed a break in the video right before you start playing the lead stuff... is that sped up? Dude it sure seems sped up and if it is... thats just WRONG.

    Nice guitar though.

  • well when he drops the whammy it looks normal.

  • ice tea is the best

  • How is the tuning stability? The ones I've seen online don't seem to have string tree at the headstock, which I think is a big mistake. Do you own any other LPs?

  • It shouldn't need a string tree with the tilt back headstock

  • Hey man great playing. But next time could you please try and use the Floyd Rose a bit more?

  • Lol, the belly scarf is actually the other cutaway part towards the top of the guitar so it isn't jagged against your body. The other part you were reffering to is the neck cutaway, but it's an honest mistake. Just wanted to point that out.

  • A Les Paul with a floyd rose. That's like the greatest idea ever.

  • i just wish they thought of the idea like 10 years ago

  • im kinda pissed about this guitar i saved up a bunch of money got an 08 atandard then i hear about this.

  • Ya, that's kinda like when people bought the new iPod and then the iPhone comes out the following week.

  • sell the standard and buy this one... i gotta have this guitar i just wished it was a bit cheaper

  • If you guys are really interested in the guitar I will sell it for a lot less than you can get it at Guitar Center. I bought a car and I promised the wife I'd unload some equipment.

  • why dont you save some money den sell the 08 standard and buy the axcess

  • well im only 17 and i worked at kmart for a long time to pay for the 08' so i think ill stick with it

  • Right on, brother.

  • beautiful guitar!

  • Why doesnt epiphone make one of these, an epi les paul standard is like 500 bucks, floyd rose is like 200 max, if they wanted, they could make one under1000.

  • i always wanted gibson with a floyd rose, but the price is rediculous, i read the specs online and it says nothing about the floyd being original. Its a great idea, but for those who dont have the cash go with a ESP ec1000FR, Practically the same thing with an original FR and 24 frets and half the price.

  • you should have got a vos les paul..

  • What wawws the first song you played? It sounded great.I'd probably like this guitar more if it had a thicker body. But Gibson was getting complatints about weight, which is the reason why lots of people switch from a les paul to a strat, and never look back. Its too bad in my opinion.

  • The song is Aerosmith's Mama Kin. The Axcess is really light so I totally understand why people prefer a heavier guitar. That being said it gets great sustain and the tone is really full. Try one out at Guitar Center.

  • i must aagree i have a 91 ibanez the best general era (80's +early 90's) and its just better than anyones guitar i kno ------- me and my guitar teacher have them and they just own any other guitar for playability

  • get an Ibanez JEM, it's waay better than this gibson SHIT.

  • maybe people don't like that ibanezes feel like a toy
