Pokemon Black+White - N is a main antagonist toward the end of the game. Can be seen as a genius, thinks completely differently from everybody else. His room shows a childish and/or troubled side of him.

Death Note - N is (technically) a main antagonist right at the end of the series. Genius, thinks in a completely different way from everybody else. Being 12, he never had an opportunity to have a childish side of him.

The whole point of this part of the game was to show that N still had the pure heart of a child, even after all the nasty things his father made him do. His room hadn't changed, kind of like his mindset hadn't changed. He's older and mature now, but still has raw, childlike emotions.
