  • blue monday

  • Yeah, it really does sound similar...although I think this song is actually better...

  • To me, The Cure will always be Lol, Simon, and Robert. That was my favorite era, and shall remain my favorite era for as long as I live.

  • If you think Tolhurst was a better drummer than Jason Cooper then you know nothing about drumming.

  • Fuck'n tolhurst.

  • 1983*

  • This is probably my favourite video, ever. Not just Cure video, any video. I love when Robert dances with the baby.

  • Laurence 'Lol' Tolhurst.....He was The Cure's drummer from the beginning until 1982, then switched to keyboard and general drunkeness/deleriousness until 1989. I still miss Lol!!!!

  • Robert just turned 50 in April, I'm sure it happens to everyone. He's still a beautiful person.

  • I agree 1969Brookie.

  • You can actually see a much clearer video I just uploaded of "The Walk" and there you can see how young he is much better.

  • Thank you 1969 Brookie; you're sweet.

  • Lol!!!! the flying babies!!!!

This song is freaking AMAZING, so it's all okay....

  • new wave cure.

  • Those Japanese babies remind me of the movie Brazil.

  • Weird vidoe....yup that's The Cure! ^_^ My favorite band!!!!!!

  • one of the first Cure video's I seen. Theres something about it that I love.

  • I love the Cure! They are so freaking unique! Although I must sadly say that this video is so unique it actually kinda creeps me out. Same for Close to Me. But oh well. It's still worth it. :)

  • no, hold on, the clip's growing on me.

  • This is my favourite Cure song ever.

I just think the clip doesn't live up to the song. The song is amazing, the clip is all over the place in my opinion.

  • weird....... but awesome!

  • como va a ser un video de 1993 si para ese año lol ya no formaba parte de the cure!

    -----------

this video it isn't of 1993 be cause Lol left the band in 1989 or 1990

  • sounds alot like blue monday

  • yeah you right!

That's sounds like friday I'm love

  • i love all the cure`s videos they are all ways so fun and crazy and robert allways looks so amazing :)

  • like a Japanese baby!

  • Oh, Lol...

    hehe it's like interp.dance!

  • the cure as a duo. Lawrence looks so funny, I love how he plays it up for the camera!

  • this video is saaa-weeeet!

  • Blue Monday and this song came out the same year, so.. yeah. Just a very, very weird coincidence.

  • The following albums: Japanese Whispers, Pornography, The Head on the Door, Three Imaginary Boys and maybe Kiss me Kiss Me Kiss Me, would be a nice primer playlist.

  • can anyone recommend a good Cure playlist?

  • I love The Cure's videos! They're always so ridiculous and manic and fun to watch.

  • MON AMOUR

  • the cure los mejores

  • kiss....

  • What is this song about? I've been listening to the Cure at work a lot lately and keep hearing this song and I can't find any good answers....

  • ahh, my friend the fun is all in trying to discover

    :)

The Cure is such my amazement

Not a song I do not know.

  • I've been wondering for a while too ...

  • this vid is halariously awesome!!

and waay better than blue monday.

    most definitely.

  • the cure=<333

  • Gran canción...

  • I love The Cure, but this song is VERY similar to New Order's "Blue Monday"

  • IS TRUE !

  • Sure, since 'Blue Monday' was a huge hit and released only 3 months before 'The Walk', it's hard to avoid comparisons. But then other tracks spring to mind when you listen to 'The Walk': 'The Affectionate Punch' by Scotland's Associates (1980) or 'Don't Go' by Liverpool's Yazoo (1981). And to me the biggest influence on 'The Walk' is still the 1982 Tin Drum LP by David Sylvian's band Japan (try 'Cantonese Boy'...) Actually Smith hired Japan producer Steve Nye to work on 'The Walk'.

  • And well, come on, it's not like New Order had 'invented' that beat...

  • True. Tin Drum is a great album and "The Walk" may have taken such sounds from there. But it's too similar to Blue Monday!

  • well, this came out first. the date in the info is just the copyright date.

  • I think tears for fears when they came out tried to do this kinda thing...how funny is that other guy i forgot his name.. was it porl? i think that was the guitarist..

  • No, it's Lol Tolhurst, ex drummer and keyboard players.

  • the coolest thing I think to american kids was like we just didnt have anything like this really at allllllll.. and then when you got a load of the british new wave.. like this..it was like whoa ! ! ! ! screw def lepord and who ever the fuck else was like bon jovi i remember..it was a war.. but the music was just so different..

  • i love this song its artistic beauty is outstanding!

  • Comment removed

  • i think he lookes amazing

    and sexy :D

  • Amazing!!!

  • embed cancelled STINKS !!

  • Yeah, it's on just about every studio recorded music video on the site.

  • Just do a google video search and find it elsewhere ;) that is what I do!

  • <3!!!!! love this song amazinggg

  • God! I love this! This video should have much more than only 17,100 views. This is a classic.

  • wow the cure has a music video for like every song.... haha.

  • lol,lol tohurst is black (his name is lol!)

  • lol

  • Why 1993?

    This was released in 1982!

  • thats the bands contract, their reps signed new deals.they r most likely on contract 3or 4 by now..i worked at a couple labels..it has nothing to do with songs release date [the copy rights] as contracts r signed at any time, tours can delay a new deal and the like so now u know.NEXT ?

  • Thank you "CURE" for this great song. I like this song a lotttttttttttttttttttttttttttt ttttt. It is like caffeine in the morning, I neeed to have to have my 3 cups of coffee to function.. I hope they play one more time for all the die hard fans in LA, CA. USA and today 5/10/09 my mind is traveling around the globe to wish all the mothers a Happy Mother's Day. Greetings from LA. CA. USA......Let's play this song real louddddddddddddddddd!!!!!!!

  • The guy with the bleached bangs, and black dress/shirt half-slipping off his shoulder is Lol Tolhurst right?

  • correct=)

  • Como pode Robert Smith ser tão lindo, cantar tão bem ?!! =)

    Perfect ³

  • this is the real cure, not that "friday im in love" crap.

  • way to hate a song for the one reason being that it is popular

  • no, i also hate the song in general.

  • out of genuine curiousity, why do you hate the song?

  • cause its overplayed, and i just think the sound of the song is annoying and stupid.

  • oh. I've actually never heard it on my local radio, but can't argue with your opinion that it sounds annoying. I personally like it.

  • yeah its personal preference.

  • ur just being subjective with yr opinion

  • that comment was posted before i heard their albums from the dark trilogy. and yeah, i'll have to agree the dark trilogy is the really real cure.

  • OK, then forget what I said... I heard the dark trilogy and TIB before this.

  • simon rejoined the band, This of course is real cure. it might have just dropped down to 2 original members or really just 2 members at this particular time but you have to respect that it still made the cure keep on going and come out with Brilliant albums after this one!!!

  • Eer, LGTB (or eventually flexipop's Lament) was the first song, that was recorded by The Cure, but it wasn't The True Cure. Songs recorded before that (TIB, Seventeen Seconds, Faith, Pornography, standalone singles...) have something in them, something like a... spirit... I can't name it and neither describe it, but I don't feel that "spirit" in any post-Pornography era song by The Cure, and songs from JW miss this thing the most from what I have heard by them.

  • Oui bien sûr, mais que pour ceux qui manquent d'horizon comme toi.

  • Hahahha I love this song!

  • oye......he acts a bit creepy at the beggining but hes still hot

  • In the beggining isn´t lol holding the baby??

  • lol your spanglish sounds stupid.

  • Simply my favorite band. I love old school sound :). Robert is quite cuddly, too, haha!

  • one real classic

  • Hello Cure Fans, please add my name to the list. I love this song 100 percent. Greetings from LA, CA. USA.

  • i love the cure but didn't like this song at first, now it's starting to grow on me and i think it's stuck in my head till eternity

  • that's the best kind of music.

  • This song didn't really sound like the cure to me when I first heard it. Really "clubby" if you ask me. But FUCK did it hook me with every aspect of it. Can't get enough of it .

  • The Cure are one of the coolest and most durable new wave bands around. This song must be almost 30 years old and still sounds fantastic!

  • This song reminds me of a trip I took with a group of friends to Palm Springs... we played this song OVER and OVER again during the 2 hour drive. The 80s were filled with awesome, unique music!! Much of which was due to The Cure!!

  • Goth started in the 80's and for me, this started it!!!

  • im 16 and the cure has been my favriote band sice i was 14.

    there just awsome.

its a shame at school im like the only fan

  • It was a like that for a lot of Cure fans in secondary school...just wait until you get to university and you'll meet plenty of Cure-heads!

  • I'm 14. No surprises I'm the only fan as well.

  • yeah its cus people are used to screemo shit... not that its bad but i mean come one learn to be opend minded

  • this has been stuck in my head for two days. :)

  • Yeah, I didn't think this song was from 1993, So it's 1983?

  • Absolutely. They released a remix of it on Mixed Up in 88.

  • they mixed it up in 1991...

  • you mean in an instant?

  • the cure is one of the best bands of the 80s!! i love this song :D

  • the year is wrong. it's supposed to be 1983. a major such as universal music should know better than that.

  • I really like the rare Razormaid mix of this song.

  • Love it. The Cure rocks my world!

  • good song, but the video's kinda abstract. what's it supposed to portray?

  • i fucking love this song out of my mind!!

  • ha haa magic!! wheres the rest of the band?

  • robert smith is a true artist :D awesome song!
