  • You say the redwood 1'' top contributes to the tone... how? I don't hear it all that differently than other 'wicks. Just wondering what your thoughts are.

    Product Description

    Warwick Streamer

    The Streamer

$ has the right sound for every situation. Two MEC MM-Style pickups with open pole pieces can make straight drive, but, if required, offers the right sound for slaps and funk - made possible by the ingenious circuitry. Both pickups can be switched in serial, parallel or single coil independently of each other, and ...

  • When I grow up, I want to be Ed Friedland. You sir, are the TONE MASTER. Your playing is always superlative, but it's your tone that really sets you apart.

  • I love it because of the pickup being the other way around. It must really bring out the bass in the thinner notes.

  • That jazz bridge pickup soothes my ears

  • Ed, I love your facial expressions at 4.50 or so when doing the P bass finger style riff - classic!

  • tabbss please for this aweasome bass intro

  • aahhh the mighty sequoia tree!

  • 4:00 OMG nice sound ! i love that bass

  • tabs for this intro man?

  • Are these particular models made in the USA ?

  • @kuchilage made in germany ;)

  • Dare I say it? Loving the Passive Mode Better!

  • @soohungry I almost always prefer the passive mode of active basses.

  • Nice tone.It doesn't hurt that he's also playing through a Genz setup!

  • Come on guys i need help here.. Which one is better? Warwick Streamer or Musicman Stingray?

  • @TheEurasia23 I have a warwick corvette and nothing compares (except a Ritter) :) Ritters are 10k tho lol

  • @TheEurasia23 streamer man all the way, besides you can get that mm sound with the streamers neck pickup anyway, i also find the neck on the streamer more comfortable but ultimately the choice is up to you,

    happy groovin' :)

  • The vid in which Ed Friedland finally revealed himself to be a metal god... I knew I'd see it som day :D

  • the bass whisperer... wtf

  • i am making a decision beetwen warwick streamer lx vs blade b2 what do you think

  • @jimmyatebillonce haha comment of the year

  • holy shit!i want that bass....

  • what do you call the technique that he did in 9:07?

  • @athansauc mad skills

  • @athansauc

    playing chords?/playing bass

  • @athansauc hes just playing chords in a Abe Laboriel like 4 finger way :b I guess in it's way it's an arpeggio (: but in reality it's just classical guitar on bass :P not too difficult to do slowly (:

  • This is a mean bass!!!

  • All Warwick wood is farm grown.

  • that growl in the opening really reminds me of Wal basses.

  • can anyone tab out the intro riff?????

    id love to learn it

  • @rebellingmisfit I saw Weezer live at a music festival once and their bassist had a Warwick with this pickup configuration. And from what I've seen in this video it sounds like it would be good for like Blink 182 and a lot of newer rock

  • OH!!! Good (คนไทย)

  • 3:18 thats what she said

  • hey Ed, do you have an account with Talkbass?

  • Can Warwick streamer be used for pop-punk, soft rock too?

  • Beautiful sounding bass! I just wish Warwick make this exact bass in a 5 string... meaning the pick-up set-up. I hate that they get rid of the splits and add another jazz style pick-up. Great Review!

  • Hes goina end up with that wrist disease :P your not supposed to have your wrist bent over like that.

  • 5:33 i got more then a "little woody" from that bass ;)

  • Le Warwick.

  • i like this guy,,,, great demo.

  • if only they just give them away

  • the slap part is hot!!!!

  • That's one beautiful bass

  • Tone test 8 .....woah!

  • @Fvcknut yeah fucking hell sounds so sick i need one of these basses lol

  • Perfect.. Just perfect : d

  • wow what a demo and what a bass, cheers ed for that, i was thinking of getting a thumb but now ive heard that i think im gonna get one of these.....rob

  • id give my left testicle for this bass.

  • @Calvert1212 Oh Man, Screw That, I'd Give Both Of Fucking Testicles For That Bass.

  • man i want one. if i ever get one i think i'd cry of joy, just a bit

  • "the black tuners" is that the brand?

  • I wrote a letter to Santa saying i wanted this only because there is a small chance the letter will get blown away and land in front of a rich guy in a good mood that will open it and say "This guys about to have 1 freaking amassing story."

  • It's Perfect

  • good . . .

  • At least someone from guitarworld can give a good product demo

  • @reverb508 Don't diss Paul!

  • @MrNeosantana But you've got to agree that he can't show a product properly

  • @kevenharbour But at least he can go through the ENTIRE video without "Ahhh...... ummmmmmmm.......and aaaaahhhhhhh"

  • @MrNeosantana And what? I prefer someone that have a lil bit of difficulty to explain the tone and frequencies from a rare and particular wood than someone who explain to me but cant show how great this product is.... eVERY REVIEW OF Paul sucks...

  • @kevenharbour no he can't he says um lots actually :L

  • @Nefro1280 a Rickenbacker.

  • @iloverush123 ric's are nice but they've got that grindy tone to them, I guess it just depends on what you play but you've got to admit the warwick streamer is fricken sexy as hell

  • @FASHWENKA Well, all of the punk rock bassists I've seen use either a Precision or a Ric. And, the Jazz Bass and the Ric practically own the prog rock genre. Like, almost all of the classic prog bands I've seen use a Rickenbacker 4001 or 4003. Greg Lake used a Jazz Bass, and so does Geddy Lee, so I guess they're the exceptions. And, I want this Streamer, SO bad.

  • i dont play bass, but why are the neck pickups like staggered like that?

  • pause at 0:27.Now observe the upper horn of the cutaway looks like an erect penis and the lower horn is like a normal penis

  • @carljn1991 so hom

  • which amp is he running through?

  • @kevenharbour Genz Benz

  • fuck commercials

  • every bass manufacturer in the world needs to send you their products for testing...love your reviews Mr. Friedland!

  • @wackiirahki I disagree. They only focus on the good points. If you don't want to know any of the bad points of the bass, like, for example if all the basses are dropped from 50 feet high by accident but it looked fine so they still sold them, then this is for you.

  • 0:45 ha ha, treehuggers.

  • This guy is a fantastic player. Great control over the instrument.

  • i couldn't tell the difference between active n passive even thru headphones!

  • @0tt0kruegar That's why you need monitors. Haha

  • @0tt0kruegar thats because you are listening to a youtube video and not to a bass and amp.....

  • Justanut: Because they can't be bothered spending the time to get the nut height (which only needs to be adjusted once) right straight out of the factory.

Angled tuners: Nice idea, except they are now at an angle which makes them harder to turn. If anything they should be pointing in the opposite direction. If you have tried them out you will know what I mean.

  • @arifreeman Just a nut is not because they're lazy, if you buy a nice bass and play it for a while and often, the nut wears down, and maybe u just wana raise the action, you'd have to get it shaved down or add a shim for anything, Justanut fixes all those problems

  • passive mode i think has less "punch"

  • 4:50 "what the fuck is that thing?"

  • ok, i play guitar, and im not a bass expert so maybe someone can help me... but what im thinkin is, from 5:05-6:00 they sound exactly the same. the only time i hear a difference is from the bridge pickup to the neck pickup. the switching from active to passive sounds exactly the same to me

  • @wmbigreds25 passive kinda gives the sound a middle-ish sound whilst in active you get more treble-ish tone.. it's got differences though :P

  • @Cache069 haha ok, like i said im not bashing the bass or anything i mean it sounds phenomenal i was just wondering from a bassists ears if that was like a huge difference

  • i like this slapping tone soo much !!

  • watching this guy's reviews makes me want to change to bass from guitar, i'm just not sure though that I want to buy a whole new instrument and amp.

  • \\m// (>_<) \\m//

  • A nice video and good review, but hearing it pronounced WarWick sounds weird to English ears! The town and county is pronounced WaRRick in Great Britain!

  • @aeropagitica Isn't the bass company from Germany? Not sure how they'd pronouce it.

  • Peace sells!!

    (nearly)

  • megadeth's bassist must have Brobdingnagian finegers....

  • Love that burl!

  • this guy makes simple notes sounds very exciting.

  • Sequoia: Destroying nature.

  • 6:30 sounds like Megadeth! :P

  • one Sequoia can probably make thousands of guitars

  • if I were him, i would've said "IT'S MADE OF FUCKING SEQUOIA!

  • @bassenigma THE Fucking Sequoia

  • awesome price too, btw

  • Comment removed

  • Eyes at 1:09

  • Nice im not a bass player for the momet but i want one bass !!!!

  • Nice review Ed, more Squire ;)

  • First bass riff in the video sounds like some megadeth Rust in Peace song. haha

  • It's pronounced "Warick" the second W is silent.

  • @markgadge no its not

  • Nice opening bass riff right there!!!

Sounds very metal \m/ and that bass sounds beautiful too :)

  • awesome...

  • Amazing bass gotta love Warwick! thanks for posting.
