@cpu554 Fibes drums were great. I played at Yosh's in San Francisco in 2009 with Larry Coryell & Joey DeFrancisco. It's time for me to bring my band there in 2012.
@cpu554 I concur with you regarding the mix. When I recored the "Story of I" album in 1975 with Patrick Moraz at his studio in Switzerland, the bass and drums were upfront in the mix!! But when I heard the CD, my drums and Jeff Berlin's bass were way down in the mix! I think when Patrick went to Brazil to record loads of percussionists, that caused my drums and Jeff's bass to be diminished in the mix! That CD/Album needs are REMIX!!
@331paradiddle Thanks a Million man! Gotta have that feeling and it doesn't matter if is funk, fusion, jazz, smooth jazz, rock or pop, my drumming has to have a Great feel. Checkout my new CD ANGEL FACE. Talk about a great swing feel. Whew!
Looking forward to it.

Thanks.
I used to own a Fibes kit like you had on that album (antiqued copper).
Still own two of the original snares (5x14 and a 5.5x14)
You guys got any plans to play up here in San Francisco(say Yoshi's)?

Nice to see you on the web.
A question that you could perhaps clarify, when you did the drumming on Patrick Moraz's Story of I.
How did you guys mix it down?
I remember hearing it on a quad system back in the late 70's and it was a real killer sound.
Now I own the CD's and the drums go from big and upfront to murky and way too low in the mix.
Was this originally released as a quad mix and then remastered to stereo?
