Those Bostons are adorable! They had dog rescue adoptions going on in front of Petco and I told my husband, "I better not see a boston because you know what might happen." I have a digger thinking he needs osmeone to play with. Sounds like you really love pups to rescue them, so the most important is that they are lucky to have a great home! There's a really cool site called the bugmug d o t com and they have abunch of adorable pictures of Buggs on them. Your're right in that it seems like the black & white and the brindle or black are predominant. There are very few pics of the buggs with the fawn markings but I'm sure they're out there. beautiful baby, we love our bostons. Bostons ARE born with NATURAL TAILS and NATURAL EARS. In some cases people do taper the ears, but the tails are never touched. If you have a boston with a longer tail, it is a mixed breed, you can garantee it.

Thank you so much! we are really enjoying him! He scared the death out of me yesterday as it was pouring down rain and he was gone. Right when I realized he escaped under the back yard fence, the nighbor kids were pounding on the front door holding the squirming, tail wagging beast in their arms! I was so relieved! Good thing for tags with your pets address on them!

I was thinking about getting him the chip where it can be scanned and also for the horse. We had a fire here four years ago and our house burnt down along with 2500 other folks. I'm not sure about how useful it would be and if it is very painful or uncomfortable for them. i figure if someone doesn't want to give him back they wouldn't have him scanned anyway, any thoughts on this?

my BT has a micro chip implanted. if we're talking about the same chip. well i cant even feel where the chip is. he is obviously oblivious to the fact its present.

I don't know much about pugs either, but our family has owned Bostons for more than 20 years and most all Bostons we get have an almost non existant tail, though sometimes you get the ones that have a stubby tail like a boxer, and even more uncommon, some bostons have longer tails.Thats real great and lucky that he doesn't get the whole snorting breahting problem that Bostons have. My Boston, Buzzy, gets that problem when he gets super exited.And nice horse! We also have horses, 4 of them. :-)

tails or no tails they are great! I find that brindle color fascinating too. I fell in love with one named petey that a gal brought to one of the bBoston terrier meetups. he was red and white with bright green eyes and just so lovable!

Thanks! Good question about the tail. I'm not sure if they dock the tail of the Bostons at an early age. Honestly, I don't know much about the Pug or Boston Terrier breed. We saw him at a shop called Kritter Outfitters in California and I hadn't had a dog in many years, so we brought him home near Christmas time. I think they are very smart and respond to training well, and of course cute, cute, cute!

It isn't true that BT's do not have tails. I bought one for my ex-gf and all of the new pups have tails. Their snipped soon after birth. Simular to dobermans getting their ears snipped. Their not born like that.

So either those pups are what they call "throw backs" (when a tail appears in a litter every now and then) - or that pup IS not a purebred Boston Terrier.

Thanks so much! Yep he is half pug and half boston. i think he is very smart. The first few months were trying till he got the potty outside thing last months. he is five months now. I like that he seems to have a pretty good respiratory system without the labored breathing condition that the pugs might seem to have sometime.

My Bugg is jet black. Facially he looks like a black pug, but the body and personality are that a Boston Terrier.
