  • I got a JD and a GT also. At first, the GT would dominate the JD because he was a little smaller. Then, after they got a little bigger and after I moved them to a different tank, the JD beat the crap out of the GT after they locked lips for about an hour. Turns out the GT can't compete because the JD has some pretty crazy teeth on him.

  • GT's aren't built to battle JD's. That GT ain't ready. lolz

  • @leolux10 Yeah, well, the GT started it! lol... Wound up having to give them both away after I tried to put my JD into my 75 gallon tank with my Oscars, Firemouths and Convicts, and he started bullying them too, so I figured maybe I'll get a younger JD, maybe an EB... That way he grows with the group and isn't violent. Check my other vids of my Flowerhorn and my 75 having a feeding frenzy. :D

  • all jack dempseys have red but i could be wrong

  • it looks like a female because of the gill plate

  • @cichlidsrock The JD? I was told by the store it's a male, ID'd by the red stripe along the dorsal fin. Or do you mean the GT?

  • I have a JD and a Tiger oscar in the same tank. They are fine with each other, but my Tiger Oscar is pretty upset he doesn't get the tank all to himself now.He still eats and all,so he isn't sick. The oscar is just too moody at times.
