You have to keep in mind he has to do this procedure on 100 different girls let alone all the guys that are going through too. I think we had more then 3 docs at my MEPS. His job is to disqualify you but also to get you through in a speedy process. I sure right after he made the door comment you exam started and was over in minutes. But yeah. enjoy USAF!!
@sactowngu18 it is never right to say anything sexual to a minor. I was a 17 year old girl with a 60-65 year old male doctor. And trust me, he was not trying to make me less nervous. This guy was a dick to everyone all day. I have no regrets in what I did, it was borderline sexual harrassment and that was completely unnecessary. There's a thousand other ways to make sure someone doesn't feel uncomfortable.

@masterofpuppies666 only if there is one available. most of the time, there's not. I'm a female who got examined by a male doctor because there was no female doctor. However, there is a female chaperone present during the exam who stands and is supposed to make sure the doctor isn't inappropriate.
i think that having your ribcage stick out in a way that would make it uncomfortable to wear your body armor is definitely a good reason to disqualify someone. you have to wear it!

The MEPS doctors are second rate at best. I enlisted back in 2005, I'm a male, and I wanted to cold-cock every single one of them I encountered. I went to MEPS three times just to get cleared because they found tons of BS things to DQ me that I had to go get waivers for. Beyond that, the MEPS doctors are all major assholes, so I'm not in the least bit surprised this guy said those things to her. As someone who was an NCO, if I caught that garbage thrown around by my people, I'd have lost it.

I don't know where yo live, but that is really strange. You get female doctor if you ask for one period. You don't have to do anything you don't want to do. This is strange to be honest. I'm from Phoenix AZ and something like this especially when it comes to minors would never happen. I don't know where you live or why they are allowing this to go on, but the line is pretty clear when it comes to these things. Females are checked out by females end of story. Not sure what is going on over there!
Thank you for putting this video out for people that are planning on going to MEPS soon. I didn't have the same experience as you, but other females need to watch out for stuff like that. They can't force you to do anything if you feel uncomfortable.
Like someone else said, I believe there should have been a female in the room with you. When I went to meps I also had a male doctor, but there was a rule that a female had to be in the room too. The exam was really brief. They just looked "down there" for literally a second. Good for you for sticking up for yourself though.

Why'd you get a 'rectal/pelvic/breast' exam. When I went to MEPS all I got was a breast exam and a visual 'downstairs' exam. The just took a quick look and said I was done. Just curious.

Im going to BMT in 8 days, and gone through one full physical and had another minor one, and will have another minor one sometime next week, and never have they said or dont that. I think what you said holds a lot of truth... However the meps I went to which is located in Montana the doc's wanted everyone to pass and be able to swear in that day. I think it depends on which meps it is and the doc's working there. My experience was that the doc's tried everything they could to make sure no one was disqualified and the experience was as pleasant as possible. It sounds like you just got a horrible team of doc's... It's too bad they were so unprofessional.
As for your fraudulent enlistment--and yes, it was fraudulent--the doctor was right. Even if a test comes up negative, you need to show documentation to prove it was negative. The liaison wants you in for the same reason your recruiter does--you're just a number to them. The reason your recruiter, his boss, and the MEPS commander were so helpful was to cover their asses. They don't want some stuck up little girl to file a complaint, ruin their reputation and possibly cost them their jobs.
First of all, you're ridiculous. 90% of the time, the doctors that are doing the exams--which I'll get into momentarily--are either old, gay, or Asian. By the way you described yours, yours seems not only old, but gay. As for the exams, whoopty-doo! You finally got to second base with someone. It's only a breast exam. The rectal and pelvic exam is only a quick look to make sure you have no hernias and to make sure you're really a female. There is no physical contact during that part of the exam.

Ya some girl on my group got disqualified for heart mumor too and she had no idea what that even was, and said that they're lying n blah blah, meps was the worst place to ever go. Doctors will act like ur friend and say u can tell them anything to get u disqualified. Good job for you sticking up for yourself, lucky my group had 2 females in the room, I woulda refused a male doctor during the examination

I don't know where yo live, but that is really strange. You get female doctor if you ask for one period. You don't have to do anything you don't want to do. This is strange to be honest. I'm from Phoenix AZ and something like this especially when it comes to minors would never happen. I don't know where you live or why they are allowing this to go on, but the line is pretty clear when it comes to these things. Females are checked out by females end of story. Not sure what is going on over there!

Thank you for putting this video out for people that are planning on going to MEPS soon. I didn't have the same experience as you, but other females need to watch out for stuff like that. They can't force you to do anything if you feel uncomfortable.

Like someone else said, I believe there should have been a female in the room with you. When I went to meps I also had a male doctor, but there was a rule that a female had to be in the room too. The exam was really brief. They just looked "down there" for literally a second. Good for you for sticking up for yourself though.

I'm really glad you reported that idiot. My mom retired as an EEO officer for the army so i can tell you from experience the military has zero tolerance for that kind of bullsh**. I'm talking to an AF reserve recruiter now. Got my BA, an awesome job in my degree but want more out of life.

Why'd you get a 'rectal/pelvic/breast' exam. When I went to MEPS all I got was a breast exam and a visual 'downstairs' exam. The just took a quick look and said I was done. Just curious.

@erinpomian1 All Im really saying is that Im pretty sure you didnt need to have the rectal and pelvic done. ESPECIALLY since you are/were a minor. Daaaaang. Im going to BMT in 8 days, and gone through one full physical and had another minor one, and will have another minor one sometime next week, and never have they said or dont that. Ive heard of it for other branches but NEVER the AF. Just saying. Good luck though!

I think what you said holds a lot of truth... However the meps I went to which is located in Montana the doc's wanted everyone to pass and be able to swear in that day. I think it depends on which meps it is and the doc's working there. My experience was that the doc's tried everything they could to make sure no one was disqualified and the experience was as pleasant as possible. It sounds like you just got a horrible team of doc's... It's too bad they were so unprofessional.

As for your fraudulent enlistment--and yes, it was fraudulent--the doctor was right. Even if a test comes up negative, you need to show documentation to prove it was negative. The liaison wants you in for the same reason your recruiter does--you're just a number to them. The reason your recruiter, his boss, and the MEPS commander were so helpful was to cover their asses. They don't want some stuck up little girl to file a complaint, ruin their reputation and possibly cost them their jobs.

First of all, you're ridiculous. 90% of the time, the doctors that are doing the exams--which I'll get into momentarily--are either old, gay, or Asian. By the way you described yours, yours seems not only old, but gay. As for the exams, whoopty-doo! You finally got to second base with someone. It's only a breast exam. The rectal and pelvic exam is only a quick look to make sure you have no hernias and to make sure you're really a female. There is no physical contact during that part of the exam.

And second of all you were not in my exam, so how do you know what he did? I'm saying that yes, that's how exam usually are supposed to be at MEPs. Mine was not. He actually touched me and I talked to my recruiter about it and everyone said it was wrong what he did.

I am really, really nervous about going to MEPS.
I have scars from my past where I used to be a cutter.
It's in the past, I'm completely over it,
but I just don't know what to say when they ask about the scars,
and if I tell them I used to be a cutter they're probably going to automatically disqualify me.
