This is really confusing to someone who hasnt used petrus before. The cube moves around a lot. I suck at block building. And it would help to know which side to keep up and down and stuff like that.
Is it okay to make a 1x2x2 on the left and then a 1x2x2 on the right, then expand these? I don't always do this, just every five or so solves when the right block has an easier case at the moment.
Should I just finish the first block completely every time?
i usually finish the first block first since you'll have the most freedom in creating the block. creating a second 1x2x2 will usually limit your moves which isn't good.
I don't make F2L pairs. I go straight into the blocks. (usually a 1x2x2 block then expand to 1x2x3)
the concept of block building is something you have to get a hold of yourself. In the video I just show some examples and should not be used as the only means of creating pairs.
Just try it for yourself. Its a block building method so there's not much algorithms for most of it.
The F2L pairs example is just a beginner concept. There's more to it than just that.
do you think roux is faster than CFOP

i used petrus for a while, so block building makes some sense to me, but then again, i mostly just find ways to use F2L whenever possible.

at 2:30, there's a way to finish the block off in 4 moves...
You are not brainwashed by CFOP, are you?
