I always like Colmes. I disagree with most of his positions but he seems to be a kind-hearted guy...not one of those mouth-frothing hate-mongering Leftists who seem to be gaining ground.

I read he'll be staying with Fox (on radio) and perhaps develop a new program.

I also hope Hannity finds a new liberal co-host. I wouldn't want to watch a program that had only 60 minutes of Hannity. Too one-sided.

Maddow and Hannity are basically the same. Ideological extremists who twist every situation around to make the other side look bad. In other words, they're liars.

O'Reilly is a bully, but is not an ideologue. He's definitely Right-of-Center, but he has a number of positions where he's Left-of-Center.

I'm white, so we'll have different viewpoints on what constitutes a "racist". IMO many blacks are hyper-sensitive to ANYTHING whites say that's remotely negative about black culture/actions.

If you want to understand what REAL racism is, I recommend you read-up on slavery, Jim Crow, and the Civil Rights movement.

What many black people today consider "racist" is only a difference of opinions.

wavy: 1/2: I'm familiar with O's dinner with Sharpton at the restaurant in Harlem. But...the way I heard the story was this:

O'Reilly was telling a friend about how prejudiced his mother's generation was against blacks. As an example, he cited his dinner in Harlem and made the famous comment that nobody was "screaming for mf'ing ice tea, etc." and wished he could show his mother this...to show her how blacks really are NOT rude, cussing, etc.

Was O's version the truth? I don't know.

But...if this is the biggest example of O'Reilly's racism you can find (given the tens of thousands of hours he's been on Fox and on the radio), then I don't think you have much of a case. Bully? Yes. Racist? I don't think so.

Colbert came up with a skit announcing (as a joke) that Colmes would be his co-host. So how on earth is H&C showing a snippet from the Colbert show "more lying on fox"? In this vid both Hannity and Colmes clearly imply the whole thing was a joke.
