  • I'm falling asleep... I love it...!!!!!!!

  • @TakerVC Sweet dreams!

  • Ok it is creepy how much this song sounds like a song I wrote years ago in parts!! A lot of his music in fact. I am only 17 and have never taken a piano lesson, so I dont have as many of the technical skills, but we have very similar style in writing music!

  • @oOHulaGirlOo That's interesting (sorry I didn't reply to you before as far as I can see). I hope you have as much success as Einaudi himself!

  • @joemcelhill No I'm not- but I'm sure I would like his paycheck!

  • my mistake is once ive learnt a piece ill tend to find myself looking at my hands and therefore making mistakes

  • @jbrown765 A lot of top soloists do that. I never have because I have no talent for memorizing, and have to keep my eye on the score!

  • Hey I didn't know Larry David aliased as Ludovico Einaudi !!!

  • @springzor Well, you are not the first to think there is a likeness. Maybe I should apply for a job as a lookalike for him!

  • i am listening to this now to learn how to do that one small 3 against 2 moment..

    you are such a teacher...

this is the kind of composition i hope will inspire me to do something original..

your march of the penguins music is classic.

    bravo

    douglas

  • @douglassmcann Thank you Douglas. I'm glad you found this helpful. Actually, I don't teach piano at all - except, maybe, by example!

  • I keep thinking this is Nefeli xD

Parts of the chord pattern and melody sound similar I think

    Still beautiful though =] x

  • @Katy1602 Thanks Katy. I have (I think) recorded Nefeli too, and it is somewhere on this channel.

  • I love this piece! Its so nice and I like the rhythm, You play it so well and I think it is just a lovely piece

  • @Ruocco96 That's really kind!

  • You are so pro! This is almost identical sounding to the album version! Nice work!

  • I subbed too :)

  • Thanks for your kind comments. I did listen to the album version before recording it, but I hope my interpretation is not a slavish copy!

  • You play so well. That's why I'm your new subscriber. Another beautiful piece. I guess I must check many of your videos. When I heard Enya among them I was in Heaven! Thank you for sharing. Hope you will forgive me my talkative nature. And this time I don't have to use Polish : )

Btw, I will be delighted if you will play something on piano by Max Richter. He is called a minimal composer but he considers himself as neo-classic. I just love his style.

  • Thank you for your comment. I will look out for Max Richter's music - although, if it is copyright I will have to buy the scores. For copyright music I only make videos if I have an original score or borrow one from a library to make the video (except where the composers themselves send me the music).

  • Not often i see the word 'portentous'. Excellent work.

  • Thank you! I guess my English usage is old-fashioned.

  • How do rate Einaudi with other composers? I find him to be more of a popular culture figure. Even though this piece is beautifully played, I can't hear it being anything other than a pop song. Just curious as to how you feel on the subject.

  • You are right - however, his music is popular, contemporary, and some of the pieces do conjure up a sombre Italianate atmosphere that I find quite attractive. They are good repertoire pieces because they are not difficult, accessible to audiences, and go down well in live performance.

  • Very beautiful and emotional played!

Where do you always get the sheets of the music you play?

  • This book came from Amazon. Some of the music I play comes from second-hand shops, and other music is played from books I borrow from libraries. If the music is out of copyright I may download it from IMSLP and other web sources.

  • Ok, thank you very much for answering me!

  • Thank you - it is!

  • Wonderful use of contrast! Very skillful balance of the two hands giving a lovely singing tone on all phrases. 5/5

  • Thank you - that is much appreciated.

  • He certainly deserved its fame. It is beautiful. I guess playing it in a church with its special acoustic was an amazing experience - almost religious by itself. Thanks for uploading.

  • Thank you. It certainly benefitted from the church sonorities!

  • great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you!
