Micky Ward went out on his shield. Took the beating of his life and probably about five other lives, cashed out, and went on to boxing Valhalla as an all-time great and legend far in excess of his 38-13 pro record.
i know bro! sequel could be equally as gripping but far more painful because of suspicious death. good call dude trilogy fight as movie with gatti's tragic end u cant write this shit not to make money off his death though so do u think she did it? the real fights are the movie i guess... i mean it's 2 guys that made the sport proud so what do think about our 2 favs? i love the shit out of both these guys
love u micky and love u & r.i.p. arturo thanks to u both! both of u inspire us all
I fucking love it how these two never fought for a title in their three fights, except for the unofficial but undisputed BLOOD AND GUTS CHAMPIONSHIP OFFF THE WOOOORLD
@dianabol75 You're a dickhead mate. I'd love to see you call Micky Ward a 'cum bucket' and watch him break your nose and knock out your four upper-front teeth with one punch.
@dianabol75 lol, your life must really suck if you come on youtube just to hate, hues what?? nobody gives a fuck what the hell you think, go suck a dick
@gibsongeetars technically they last about two and 1/3 rounds...MMA rounds are usually five minutes. Now if you mean in the ring with Boxers, I'd argue for your case with some fighters and against it with others. Some guys have Boxing backgrounds and could do well in this sport. Others wouldn't because Boxing doesn't allow for grappling or elbows or knees.
As for Gatti and Ward being true men...that, my friend, is a legendary understatement--and I applaud you for making it.
@dion1262 You just officially disreputated yourself for commenting... Have you seen how Gatti fights? His tactics are amazing, his combos, his stamina. I agree if you say Ward is somewhat of a bum, but for a less skilled fighter, he's got heart.... both of these boxers have heart, not to mention Ward's Iron Chin. Just because they didn't face any of these Big Names" they became big named fighters and the fights between them are amazing.
@boredizerwin gatti was a good fighter but he is not A GREAT FIGHTER HE DID NOT BEAT MAYWEATHER OR DE LAHOYA. YES HE WAS EXCITING AND A CROWD PLEASER AND HE CAN FIGHT BUT LETS NOT BE IN DENIAL HE WAS NOT A GREAT FIGHTER BUT HE WAS GOOD
Great fight i just got to say that the guy that say let's get ready to rumble has to have the best job ever in life. He got rich of one phrase, he gets paid bookoo money for about 10 seconds of work and he gets a free seat to the best fights of all time.
@upchurch231 Oh no no, Michael Buffer is great at introducing the fighters as well:
Introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the bbblue corner, weighing in 135 pounds, his proffessional record, a ggggreat one: 43 wins with only 5 defeats, with one bout even, from Mexicoo City Mexico, he's the former WBC and WBO llllllightweight cchhhhampion o' the wooooorld Juan Manueeel Dinamitaaaa Maarrrrrrqueeeizzz
a true loss to boxing arturo gatti is a prime example of a slugger turn boxer turn brawler turn tacticion... he will be missed no doubt.. but micky ward is being celebrated in a movie.. portrayed by mark walhberg i can not wait i hope there is a gatti scene r.i.p a.g
@recogntion watching the fight i think he's reaal fighter too,,,im just surprised how micky is not goin down with all those power puch combination,,,,micky is realy though for sure
@havik95 I think it was better off that way. I don't think anything short of a full movie could do these fights justice.
Even then, I don't think a movie depiction of these fights could live up to the actual thing. You really need to watch the entirety of each fight to really appreciate them.
That being said, a sequel to the fighter based on the Ward-Gatti trilogy should happen simply because it would reintroduce these fights to a large audience and would do a lot of good for boxing.
only felix trinidad comes to mind when i think of who comes close to gatti as being a natural two-fisted puncher. everything gatti throws is so fluid and effortlessly great that it's beautiful to watch. R.I.P. gatti
@ThisLittleBlackBook Then you obviously don't have that many fighters that 'come to mind' at all. There have been so, so many two fisted punchers as good, better, or nearly as good as those two guys. That's not meant to be offensive, just a general statement of truth.
no gatti scene in "the fighter"....I love all of you. lets make love.
