@DetectiveHofman That is not necessarily true, he only said that he is Jacks father's spirit, not all of the spirits. Besides he could easily just have been lying to gain Jack's trust. He wasn't the most trustworthy guy afterall.

All the ghosts on the island are the "the Walts ghost is the Smoke Monster" (MAN IN BLACK) shapeshifting. He's been trying to find a lopphole in order to kill Jacob and he found it by manipulating everyone into thinking that they are seeing spirits when in reality they are just being conned by smokey the monster he sets all this up. If anyone needs a breakdown of the "BIG PICTURE" let me know I got it all in my brainbox.

Eko's brother's place crashing on the island is special because the plane's flight path didn't take it anywhere near the flight path of Ocean 815 - how did they crash on the same island if that's the case?

They're not spirits. It's the smoke monster which can take the form of bodies that have died on the island, with the exception of people that Hurley sees. If you think about it, it makes sense! The smoke monster is also Jacob's "nemesis" shown in the beginning of the last episode of season 5!!!

I don't think so. I think that Jacob is the good of the island and that the Monster is the bad of the island and they were the war that linus and whidmore were talking about, and the wrong side won when Jacob was killed!
