It is said that Egypt wanted to have peace. Palestinians would only need to follow. Egypt did NOT want to lead Palestinians. It is Palestinians who must speak for themselves. Secular and religious elements in the Arab world will never join. One must be the leader.

What is interesting is that in Israel you see people talk of peace, but not in Palestinians. They always speak of war. That is why Arabs want them to speak for themselves!

I'm not sure what you consider "winning" a war to be, but the Israeli army was within shelling distance of both Cairo and Damascus by the end of the 73 war, not to mention the fact that they had trapped the Egyptian third army, and the only thing that prevented them from completely destroying it was diplomatic pressure. Israel had also rolled out their nukes...just in case.

In one way i feel as though Israel does not want peace, well i mean the leaders of Israel. If they would only try to create a definate border between the two states then some peace might come. Yet i feel as though that Isreal feels if they give the Palestinians one thing they will ask for more. If one side is willing to give the other is not and vic-versa. Peace is what is needed, nevertheless this is what is supposed to happen, right?
